Just come across this, Freddie deserved a lot more than he got And did not deserve his ending. One of the greatest British entertainers, which, sadly we don't really have now❤
The Jordaniars even said it was the most perfect matching voice to Elvis they had ever heard. Freddie spent his last remaining years just singing Elvis songs at home. One of the greatest comedians ever. Long live Freddie.
Freddie spent his last years actually living above a bar in Spain, paying his rent by doing a performance every night in the pub down below! I don't know where you got your info from, but it is wrong! Freddie moved to Spain around the time allegations were made against him which weren't even true, the man died skint, heartbroken, and hardly anyone came to his funeral who were supposed to be his friends! RIP Freddie, like Vincent...... "the world was never meant for someone as beautiful as you"!
@colindavid2078 not sure what part of what I said you think is wrong but Spain had become his home after the horrible allegations and yes he was a broken man and skint. Michael Fogg undertakers even sorted out his funeral free of charge. Can't see where we disagree but if that's how you feel I won't argue.
@@andrewmurrell4962 When You said "home" I thought You meant where he spent 60+ years in England! That's where I would call "home" after 60 years, not Spain! Anyway, my bad, we both agree he was a Legend, that's all that really matters!!
@@andrewmurrell4962 Yes I saw him a few times in Blackpool, and was lucky enough in an interval to go out for a smoke and meet him on Blackpool North pier! We chatted for around 1 minute, and being 6'1" myself, I couldn't believe how small he actually was! What a man though, will never be anyone like him!
Freddie star is possibly the greatest British comedian of all time, but he was an incredible singer. You need to watch an audience with Freddie star with Elvis backing group the jordiners ... The lead singer said... "In all the years of performance.. Freddie was the most incredible likeness to Elvis in every way"... He was a comedian, singer and all rounder of an entertainer...
American Trilogy - one of my favourite Elvis songs, and Freddie's tribute was very good. He sang with the Jordanaires, who also sang with Elvis, and they thought he was great. After what you have seen already of Freddy, the fact that there was no comedy speaks volumes of the respect and admiration he had for the man.
It’s American Trilogy! One of the best known Elvis songs ever! I’ve never seen this before but Freddie was so good, he should have been a famous singer with a voice like that.
Watched Freddie's live shows many times in the 70's in UK and at the end of every show everyone stayed in their seats waiting for his encore which was an amazing Elvis show....and this was before Elvis's death in '77.
Freddie Starr was a bonafide GENIUS. He really was great. Like most men who had genius thrust upon them by Universe Freddy had his demons. But man what a performer. Best in the house.
Of course they've heard of him, just one of them didn't know his songs. It's possible! I suppose An American Trilogy is really only known by Elvis fans. Most people know of the hits.
We were at a concert the day Elvis died at the Davenport Theater in Stockport and Freddy Starr actually broke down and cried during his performance, ok, he was a strange performer / comic, but a consummate Elvis tribute performer and as a geriatric ex dj I've come across a few over the years and he together with Big Jim White were the best that we Brits had
We was just watching Freddie Star on u tube performing Elvis tribute and I quite agree with you Freddie did the Elvis Tribute justice..And he was a brilliant comedian..RIP.Freddie.❤❤❤🙏
Freddie Starr (Frederick Leslie Fowel 9 January 1943 - 9 May 2019) was a legendary comic genius but also a fabulous mimic and exceptional singer who had been doing, amongst the other elements of his eclectic shows, an Elvis impersonation long before Elvis's early death. Check out his 'Starry Night' (Don McLean) and other such examples of his vocal, interpretative and comic talent.
God I'm showing my age here but how can't you know The Kings songs?😲😆 The man changed the face of music forever, Freddie was mad about Elvis and that song is called American trilogy. Great clip guys.👍
Elvis will always be the greatest male singer this world will ever know. Please do some reactions to his live performances, I really think you will become fans. I have watched people who never heard him before reacting to him and they have loved him. You should react to American Trilogy, which is the song Freddie sang in this clip, he changed the first verse as a tribute to Elvis.
How can you be American and NOT have listened to Elvis, My dad was a huge Elvis fan and I grew up listening to Elvis. I'm in Scotland. RIP Dad, I miss you.💔

im not an elvis fan but i like some of his songs but i love freddy starr and its sad that he's no longer here to put smiles on our faces Freddie Starr And The Jordanaires - Don't only 5mins long
He was a dangerous comedian to book onto a TV show. Funny but unpredictable a good one to watch is Freddy Star and Muhamad Ali on a chat show. He was like a naughty schoolboy that was allowed to be as naughty as he wanted and he revelled in it.
_The "Battle Hymn of the Republic", also known as "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory" or "Glory, Glory Hallelujah" outside of the United States, is a popular American patriotic song written by the abolitionist writer Julia Ward Howe_
I know that Nick will appreciate this fun fact: Lance LeGault, who played Col. Decker in The A-Team was once a member of Elvis's band and was his stunt double in some movies.
Freddie had a very bad upbringing as his father use to beat him up when he was a child. Freddie was a child actor and later he was a singer in a Merseybeat band in Liverpool at the time of the Beatles called the Midniters. My dad saw him performing in Tunnel Road, Liverpool in the early 1960’s. His hero was Elvis and like Elvis Presley, Freddie had a twin who died at birth. Freddie started to do comedy during his musical acts.
Freddie wa a singer first, then turned more to comedy. I was an Elvis fan from the start, I think I was about 12/13 and loved everything he did though not his later films. And this is a remarkable impression of Elvis. There is a video of Freddie with The Jordanairres, Elvis' backing group.
American Trilogy was originally arranged and sang by Micky Newbury. Elvis loved it so much he recorded it and it went to no1 (Micky Newbury made no 2 I believe)
Freddie loved Elvis and sang some of his songs with Elvis's Backing group 'The Jordanaires.' If you want a good laugh however watch his 'Indian bit', it's on youtube.
You need to watch Freddie Starr doing Vincent, no trickery or video editing and another of Freddie Starr is telling Mohammed Ali a story on the Michael Parkinson show 🇬🇧🇬🇧
As good as this tribute was in terms of the vocals, the actual vocal performance by Elvis is in many ways (some of them subtle but significant) several levels above Freddie's excellent version. If you haven't watched the classic original by Elvis, you're missing out on something truly spectacular in a way that is mesmerizing and emotionally powerful.
Freddie was never a contender to Elvis, but nor did he try to be, he made 1 video as a tribute to the king, NEVER said he was impersonating or emulating him, Freddie did his own interpretation on voices/actions to any star during his ERA, but to be honest, he could shut ALOT of impersonators to shame And yes Elvis sang this song .
"it is crazy how talented he is," the woman remarks after Freddie finishes. It's true..... and even more remarkable is that in Britain he was NEVER primarily known as a singer! (nor as a "straight" actor, even though he kills it in his two cinema films as an actor, VIOLENT PLAYGROUND when he was a youngster and then in the 1970s as the scrappy sidekick to Stacy Keach in THE SQUEEZE).
There is no such song as "fools rush in". It's part of the lyrics of "I can't help falling in love with you." It's from the movie "Blue Hawaii". "Wise men say only fools rush in But I can't help falling in love with you.."

A rare moment of seriousness from Freddie Starr who was best known for his comedy.

Freddie kept us entertained for years in UK, funny man with a wicked sense of humour and a very good voice ♥️🇬🇧
I do agree, he did not ham that up at all. It was a tribute, and over her in the UK there was a real sadness when Elvis died.
It’s American Trilogy! One of the best known Elvis songs ever! I’ve never seen this before but Freddie was so good, he should have been a famous singer with a voice like that.
Freddie changed the lyrics as a tribute to ELVIS 👍👍👍👍
I’m 68 a life long elvis fan and back in the day this song was the elvis fan club anthem,Fred bless his heart was a elvis fan and did him justice
There are videos of freddy singing with Elvis' backing singers "The Jordanaires", who said he was the closest to Elvis they had ever heard.

Freddie Starr started off as a singer in Liverpool, fronting his own bands and appeared on the same bill as The Beatles at one stage.
Shouldn't that be ' on one stage '?😊
At one stage, at one time, point whichever you prefer@@terryhorne2582
