Back in the 80's/90's I used to drive long-haul trucks out of England to most of mainland Europe. I loved Spain and found that I could basically live off Tapas. Great food.

I've been to Barcelona about 5-6 times and would HIGHLY recommend Cerveceria Catalana for tapas. It's really reasonable and the food is fresh. Always a long line but worth the wait every time.

I love that market. Just walking around and seeing the colors and how beautifully they arrange everything on each table made it worth the trip. I have lots of pretty photos of a table of nuts and candy from my trip there in 2012.

The pimientos del padrón are not always spicy but there's sometimes one or two spicy ones. One funny custom we have is that whoever gets the spicy one, pays the bill (you can tell, it's difficult to hide because when they are spicy, they're extremely spicy)

Asia and Australasia to anything Europe has to offer. I am U.K. born and bred and Europe is all the same. I’ve been asia 20 odd times. Singapore, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand.

Tapas are fantastic and those looked pretty yummy. Far better because of where you are at the time too I'm sure.
Sometimes "Tourist Trap" isn't a bad thing, as it's become 'to touristy' because it's a popular thing to see that is there. Other times it feels like a very manufactured tourist trap that could be anywhere. I'm fine with visiting somewhere local that's become a bit popular and feels like it's now 'to touristy'. Not so much the artificial feeling ones that could be anywhere and are purely there for the tourists and would exist without them. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between them, and sometime the touristy is all that's kept the location going

You won't regret coming to Manila, that's where you will notice you gain a lot of subscribers. Just too bad a lot of beaches in the south are currently undergoing a much needed rehabilitation. But with 7,107 islands in the Philippines you won't be disappointed. It's summer so expect an influx of tourists. Enjoy!

And if you get bored of Tapas try Maccaroni, it's a little lovely fresh Italian pasta place not far out of the gothic quarter. Those two stick in my mind from my last trip there.
