- In the Final Episode of Stargate Atlantis - "Enemy at the Gate" the Wraith who recently aquired a few ZPMs grew a normal Hive Ship into a 'Super' Hive Ship and with the engines upgraded due to the introduction of the ZPM they are now able to travel to a new feeding ground. Earth.

That shot of Atlantis appearing infront of the Super Hive as it changes course to evade with the epic Ancient-esque music playing in the background will never fail to give me goosebumps, what an amazing scene!

Of course, it’s where he got his action hero start. It’s how he got the part of Conan, and that led to other movie rolls. And it’s all owed back to Stargate Atlantis
This was an action packed ending. I was on the edge of my seat
It must have felt like déjà vu for Robert Picardo. Four years earlier on Star Trek Voyager, his Doctor character arrived back on Earth and in San Francisco with his fellow crewmates.
Wait! We are detecting another ship! O Man I remember the first time that moment happened like it was yesterday! EPIC MOMENT AT IT'S FINEST! The feels.....
A great series that ended much too soon.
That is a fitting ending. Robert Picardo returns to San Francisco
but only for some time. Atlantis later returned to the Pegasus galaxy to continue the fight
It's not a real 6th season but the 8 (or 12) books are canon and continue the story including Dr. Weir and the Pegasus Asgard

One of my favorite scenes was in season 7 when the forces of Anubis duked it out with the new and improved forces of earth over Antarctica. It showed the progress Earth was making because of the Stargate program: that they were steadily catching up to the top dogs in the galaxy.
I kind of wish that the final showdown with the Wraith had been more like that.
And a giant Ancient City/Devastating Warship isn't enough of a progression for ya?
If Atlantis had carried on for long enough, I reckon the 302s would have had a scaled down version of the plasma beam weapons and some sort of new engine that doesn't rely on aviation fuel and can be used everywhere.
the only thing i wish they had done during the atlantis show. (being the city of the ancients) i wish they had found the ZPM lab. maybe made two or three. and been forced to give them up to earth or something. they really missed an oppurtunity after the theft from the replicators to expand on the ZPM

That ending made me happy but sad at the same time ☺️🥺 it's very heartwarming and the whole family was back together 😊 but the series ended 😭 John had no family other than them and ending the series felt like separating them and it's like it's hardest for John. I guess it's because I felt like it's family too... Hardest part of it, we can never go back or see the Atlantis continuing 😭
You can read the novels that continue the story. There a LOT of them and the story is really good.
It's crazy the Ancient chair drones destroyed Anubis fleet with ease & he had excellent shields.
it's crazy how powerful a zpm is! That hive wouldn't have been destroyed if we didn't blow from the inside!
I like how they had them standing at end. The couple ,the couple alot wished they had done more with and the most likely couple

Why they didn't put energy shield on area 51? They aleady have technology to make powerful Asgard shield that easily block dart's kamikaze run.

Those darts shouldn't have taken out the facility .. The building on the surface is only a small part of the complex the majority is far underground dozen of stories below the surface

Ended way too soon, what a joke. Ended so that SGU would be the only one on... look how that turned out. Though it wouldn’t have been so bad if they had actually done the movies like they were supposed to.

Can I just ask a simple question please don’t get carried away with any answers because I’m a simpleton ok 😁when Atlantis arrives later on in this episode why didn’t the drones what are on earth activate as well when attacking the wrath ship because when Atlantis arrived it automatically overrides or supersedes as Rodney says in a different episode when they build the super gate from Atlantis to earth so in other words the drones on earth should of connected to the Atlantis chair and attack the wrath ship ok 👍😉😀😀😁
They said the Fighters are outnumbered by Wraith Darts. How does Earth not have a fleet of Space Fighters? At this point in the show, all major countries were supporting the Stargate program. There's no way the Earth Fighters should be outnumbered.
Also they have hundreds of f22’s f15’s f16’s f18’s I believe the f35 wasn’t in service yet but still hundreds. But yeah cram nasams patriot thaad should all be out there at minimum
Well, that's the reason the ancients were losing. The Wraiths just overwhelmed them with sheer numbers. Especially with a Wraith ship of that magnitude and a ZPM, they likely had the power to craft all the darts they could need on the hyperdrive down.

I think the US would have flooded the sky with the most advanced fighters possible and then flooded it more with fighters that would just launch air to air and fly away. I would think something like 2k fighters in all. Airforce, national guard test craft, what ever.
Decloak and watch the tech boys just freak out.

Still, I've always wondered what became of Atlantis. "Naval quarantine" isn't going to work for an extended period of time; people will be wondering why an empty area is quarantined, and what kind of dangerous stuff the military has dumped into the water there, and how it affects everyone else.
I mean, SGC is a visible facility in a mountain; they have military going in and out, and nobody is wondering/questioning why you can't go there without authorization.
Also, what about bad weather? Does the cloak create tbe appearance of rain actually hitting the ocean surface? Or would Atlantis be effectively de-cloaked on the first rainy day?

My guess is that the took it to another planet in the milky-way on some ocean planet.
How the fuck is not being able to go into a military suspicious that's literally nauseous.
Also keeping Atlantis a secret would be more about when it first landed than anything else. They have a range of excuses in the short term for why ships can't go (after which they could turn on their inertial dampeners and be towed out by a submarine or something) , but even if they activated the cloak asap they would still be a visible kilometres long hunk of metal for several minutes as they were crashing into the bay.

The one thing i never understood about thia was 1, they have been bombarded by 10 ships at once before with only 1 ZPM and it could last days. 2, when they were being bombarded they never experienced sparks and shit going on in the control room only once they went to space they got this.

It was a SUPER HIVE, it have many ZPM's powering it.
the super hive had enough fire power to drop an Ori mothership shields with a fiew salvo.. Of course the shield could not wistand that for long
@@AgentK-im8ke Its not really the fact that it could not last long that i find strange it's the fact that all of a sudden they started getting the typical sparks going off in the back ground when that has never happened before.
@@bentrally probably because the shield was able to wistand the blast of classic wraith weapons, but against this, the consol or electronic can overload
Also remember Atlantis activated the Wormhole Device to let city travel across both Milky-Way and Pegasus galaxies in almost no time, so they deplete most of the ZPM's energy and fighting against a Hive Ship at least 5 times more powerful than a regular hive ship, it was a massive consumption of energy.

Still not sure how I feel about the chair being destroyed (frankly it should have either been immobile or in an impenetrable bunker- the SGC had the tech by now) but it really is a pretty good ending overall

Why did they put the chair in an unshiwlded position. Why not have cram nasams patriot batteries and a fighter wing of not just 302’s there. They are in atmosphere send the 302’s send your f15’s f16’s f22’s fa18’s everything. And that’s just human shit, you have goauld force fields Asgard shields and other stuff use that shit. That chair should be the single most protected place on earth.

were are all the other ships form the jaffa in the galaxy? like there 100's and once earth gone then the wraith will cull the whole galaxy why not have like everything there ready to shoot at it. feel like could have won that way
The Jaffa were on iffy grounds with Earth until the Ori Invasion. Now that they were gone by this finale they're probably back to being like that.
The Jaffa ships are also extremely slow with the faster ships only appearing in Season 1, so the last 13 years of a 10,000 year history. 95% of those ships will be the slower ones

Stupid ending, show was all about the lost city and not about the galaxy, into that city they found many abandoned projects and as you observe all went ridiculously silly, especially when you have access to so many technologies and the show writers still left the earth with any defence!
Overall nice idea but very poorly implemented.

Still Stupid, dont care how much tech a ship has...once an engines gets whack and goes half dead..It is not suppose to be able to maintain full power...Yet he made it to Orbit, shut engine down and Turn it back on...
9 years late but ok, the engine that was hit looks to be the right side engine (an air breather) whereas the F-302 has a main engine that is basically a rocket booster in the middle which is used to reach orbit. The twin engines were not required, when the restart occurred it was only needed to be a maneuver into the hive ship thus not needing full power on one side.
Terrible editing.
Could never stand John's acting in Atlantis, he made the series into a soap opera especially they way he always looks off to the side. Even this 15min skit was so cringe.
