Hi Cager. Nice video. This was my first ever bike too. 2012 version. Loved it to bits. Then I passed my full motorbike licence test and got a Honda CBR600F. Then a Honda CBR600RR 2102. Now I'm getting a Kawasaki Z1000SX 2015 in a few days time. Loved your review of that too. Your funny man. Keep up your good work. Bless.
Cager, I enjoy all of your motorcycle reviews! You're right this scooter is great for getting around in a big city (even without filtering allowed here in the US). I happen to have the 2013 PCX150 and try to justify taking it instead of the car every chance I get. If whatever I am going to buy will fit under the seat I take the scooter. It's also my daily commuter. If people in the US would just try this scooter they would see it's a great value. Instead, it seems everyone here aspires to live in the suburbs and drive their big SUV.
I started on one of these, Now got a Yamaha MT-07 The Honda PCX is a wonderful bike for commuting, but I have also ridden 550 miles between dawn to dusk for a sponsored challenge on one.
Wow impressive improvements on the new PCX, it was my first bike for me too and actually i still have even when i bought the cb500f. my wife simply love it too. fantastic storage space for a full face helmet and even for something else, very light and nimble and super low fuel consumption, i managed to do 100mpg no problem. top speed on mine 100km/h one of the best 125 scooter that honda produced
Great review Cager ! Fun stuff ! I see people are posting comments asking which 125cc scooter is fastest. For a scooter, top speed is not essential. What's more important is acceleration ! Brakes matter too for inner city, and you discussed those very well, Thank you !
Nice review. You're right, you don't see that many in the US, but it's picking up. I live in Los Angeles California, and my garage has: 2013 NC700X, 2013 PCX150, 2014 Forza 300 and a 2013 Piaggio BV350. I love all my bikes, but when I have to ride across town quickly, I usually get on the PCX150 before anything. You're right, it squeezes through anything. Sadly, they've disabled the start/stop feature here in the States, but we still have the same silent starting. As many motorcycles and scooters as I'll ever have, I think I may always have a PCX. Also, I had a 2011 PCX125 but sold it to a friend. The 150 is very much the same, but with about 13.5hp so it will go about 66 mph (106 kph). Thanks for the review!
Dear Mr. Cager, I guess you are the reason why I pick up Honda PCX, thanks to your good review on that and I definitely enjoy watching your video. But I only able to understand in English. I LIKED every videos I watched from you. Really appreciate and love your videos especially they way you laugh and those funny sounds you made 😂
I wish the US had filtering, but the drivers here would get so pissed off and would literally want to kill any motorcycle / scooter that does it. They have the jealous "it is not fair attitude." Traffic would be so much better here if we had a higher percentage of scooter riders and they could save money, too, if they utilized it as much as possible for commuting, shopping, etc.
I agree. The US needs to allow filtering! Only our California state allows it. I would feel much safer if I could filter to the front of the line! Also, in the US we have a honda PCX150 for $3500, or a Honda Grom 125 for $3200. I think most people would pick the grom before the scooter.
In most states, anything over a 50cc requires a special motorcycle license. Most states also get cold winters, so people would rather spend 2000$ on a car and be protected from the rain / snow / cold, have more storage space, than spend 2000$ on a scooter and still have to wait in line with traffic. The US could use an update on our rules of the road.
In Malaysia, HONDA PCX is 150cc and is consider one of the 'premium' scooters for urban riding. Usually the rich folks would have this little PCX for their short commute in city and got into their BMW GS for longer distance.
Very nice review. I'd like to get a motorcycle/scooter combo and the new PCX is looking really interesting. I just wish they had the stop/start feature in the USA. Honda said they didn't include it in the US version, because we don't stop as much, but since we can't filter, I usually spend more time stopped than riding.
Yes. Very cool. The PCX150 gets 100 mpg. Fuel is too much money. The 150cc goes 70mph. I will be able to keep low miles on my liter bike. Very fun and good looking. Good review.
I keep watching this as I decide about buying one thanks cager for the review, looking forwards to you doing one with the latest 2018 model with abs, better shocks etc.
I lOVE your accent :-). I’m seriously contemplating getting this bike BUT I live out of town and commute into town so wonder if this would be good/fast enough - have to contend with A roads in the UK with lots of pot-holes to avoid! Previously had a Suzuki Burgman 650 so used to larger bikes, though that was too big and heavy. What are the service intervals on this bike - some people say 2,500 and others say 4,000! Please keep the vids coming - they’re very amusing and I especially loved your tip for carrying babies under the seat - what a fab idea!!! ;-)
Im a subscriber to your videos . I own a Vespa 125 and a Honda Click but have just bought the 2014 PCX 150 made here in Thailand and terrific for the Bangkok traffic . I also bought the new NC 750 , made in Japan. here in Thailand the PC 150 is cheap and getting cheaper to run with falling oil prices. please review the Triumph Bonneville T100 - Im thinking about buying the Bonneville.
Great scooter review , but im stuck in choice between this and the blue peugeot django sport which is more retro and suited to me , any reviews in that scooter plz ?
Cool nice review! I just bought my first 125cc bike but opted for the honda SH mode as it was more in my price range. Have you tried it out? What do you think? I plan on upgrading to a nc750s when I get a little more confidence and experience.
hi! i'm going to be getting a pcx as my first ever bike and this video has really helped me out! just one question, you know the led lights you show at the end? are they on the previous pcx model or is it the 2014 version only?
I have a video review of the 150PCX on UA-cam. I wonder if I can get mine over 100 KPH? The headlights are amazing. The bike is luxury transportation around my little beach town on Phuket. The PCX is $2550 in Thailand with a years insurance, a savings of over $1000 from most of the rest of the world. They make them here.
Not good because they are made for short travels. Going from city to city might overheat it, not to mention it's low speed, drivers in their cars will always pass you. At least a 150 or 200 cc bike with radiator it's a better call for city commuting
hujimix Ended up getting a 125 scooter last week and done a lot of riding between towns and cities and it seems absolutely fine, even at 60mph. A 50cc would be rubbish for outside cities though.
hi cager. you should really do more scooters. the yamaha xenter mostly 125s a lot of people in europe including me are interested about these nimble little scooters for fuel economy and small commuting to work :)
CagerOnTwoWheels also a good idea would be the sh 125 from honda and the cheaper version the sh mode 125 because the sh mode in italy is the same price as the pcx, euro to euro
I don't know that I would consider the PCX a cheap scooter. Here in the US there are many choices that are considerably less. The Paggio fly 150 is only a couple hundred more dollars than the PCX, and considered a premium scooter. I have ridden both and I think I would take the Honda.
So, Cager, is the Honda PCX125 worth buying, I mean, will it have value for money for a 125cc scooter, or is there a better one? P.S. damn those headlights are really bright!
Após ter visto a tua crítica à YAMAHA MAJESTY e à HONDA PCX, fiquei a gostar das duas! A ver vamos qual irei escolher! Abraço e continua com as (boas) críticas!
Could anyone help to make the pcx go more faster ? What do I have to change ?. Also could anyone help which tires to buy that are more suitable for rain ? thx
Strange... I've tested yesterday and it did on flat more than 60mph. This one and your fisrt gen PCX top out at 108 kph. This one is much slower than yours at pulls from 0... Your PCX was considered the fastest one 0-100kph. Mine is from 2013 and it's fastest than 2014 model when pulls but have a top speed of 120kph and it's slower than what you had until 100kph. About the fuel cap mine does lift when I press the button so I don't need to scratch my nails to open it. Cheers and thanks for the review.
Love your reviews! Can you give me some advice I am looking to but a new scooter and have the choice of Susuki Bergmann 125, Sym Joymax 125, Kymco Superdink 125, and the Honda PCX 125, What are your thoughts? Many thanks Paul
CagerOnTwoWheels love your reviews! Would you advice the Honda PCX 150, i live in the states, and most of the times the in town speed limites are over over 40miles an hour? Thank you Vincent
so the only thing is the rear suspension( can be replaced with after market) and the tires (also can be replaced bij after market) so for 2.799,00 (dutch price) and about for about 150-200 euro more you have a 125 scooter with not problems ; ) wel i have say its a good deal and that part of gething to 100(for mills per hour its around 60) wel you can get a after market variateur for that (it wil help realy) but it wil set you back another 150-160
updated for 2004??? uh 10 years off? I hope you get to go check out a Triumph someday soon, or maybe even a Ducati 899 Panigale, they sell at 14,500USD and have 148HP
Nice review, but you say that it isn't fit for traveling long distances and yet there are whole clubs of people who use PCX 125 as adventure bikes basically :D I once saw two korean ladies riding around the world on PCX :D
If you were making a choice between a PCX and a Piaggio Fly, which one would you pick? This is for city driving to work in the US. Anyone, chime in, thanks!
As you make these (excellent) vids for English speakers, could you please use our measurements, ie MILES? Gallons is a bit trickier, I know, because US and UK gallons are different. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Father has one, but the Idle stop (as Honda calls it) is always off - the problem is that the fuel save doesn´t justify the cost of new starters (like with cars). It´s there mainly for the EU comissioners and for the sake of the mpg claims :o) However I must say it surprised me, how fast it starts and goes. I swithed it on, stopped at the intersection and let the engine die. Then I pulled the throttle and I tought it will take a sec, or at least half of it.. The scoot almost went away without me, as I was still standing on my feet and it was already goin - instantly :o) My only previous experience with start/stop was with a car (diesel Skoda Superb) and I had to re-learn starts, as I had to slow down myself a bit. Initially I was stalling the engine as I was already on the gas, clutch left and the starter was only beginning to run the engine again.. This is however another world.. I don´t understand how Honda managed the starts so instant! Anyway I don´t recommend to use such technology, it doesn´t pay off in the long term...
It doesn't have a starter motor, I think it starts using the alternator, so idle stop does not increase any parts costs, just decreases fuel costs by about 5%.
USA/Canada laws vary by state/province, but in general a rider needs a motorcycle endorsement for anything over 49cc / 50 km/hr. Some places have license tiers, but most often that endorsement permits any 2-wheel vehicle with no power limits. Maxi-scooters are fairly new in N.America. For decades now, in our American minds a scooter is synonymous with a 49cc moped. Since the endorsement allows anything, riders are drawn to a bike with more capability. Add a little male ego and you have a culture that looks down at scooters as less masculine.
possession of drugs is allowed in portugal, but selling it is ilegal. As a result addicts lost fear of seeking help and drug usage itself went into a drastic decline
Good looking scooter but unfortunately too slow. A little wind from ahead and and the trucks start overtaking you. In town you will be better off with Wave or Vision 110. Smaller and cheaper. But you can put a 145cc bore kit on it to make it somewhat viable. BTW In the US Honda actually sells the 150cc PCX which is much more interesting imo.
yes you are correct it is different in every country. In the US it makes much more sense because you need the additional power for the highway. Same thing in Germany where 125cc is pretty much only for A1 beginners. But remember there is also a big price jump from 150 to 250cc+. The 150cc PCX has a lot potential for a cheap commuting scooter.

I miss my pcx, it took my everywhere in any weather, very reliable.

Just ordered mine but its the 150 version. Cant wait!
Nice review, There's a lot of benefit to owning the smaller bikes nowadays.
Finally :) I was really expecting review of PCX, after all it was your very first bike...
Don't think you mentioned it but the seat is also updated. Previously, there was a hump half way. Now there isn't so taller folks can sit more comfy.
Yes. Very cool. The PCX150 gets 100 mpg. Fuel is too much money. The 150cc goes 70mph. I will be able to keep low miles on my liter bike. Very fun and good looking. Good review.

Hey Cager why not test drive the YZF-R125? That would be interesting to see

Nice video dude, greeting from Jakarta, Indonesia. I've been waiting for two month to ride this bike, it's a long long time to waiting.
you are a really good reviewer your vids are great to watch also I will be getting the new pcx 125 soon it would be great to see you review that one
Do you get bikes sooner than Canada? Can not wait to hear your take on the Honda NM4. :)
Put some Öhlins shocks and Bitubo fork springs on it...makes for a sporty ride.
Great scooter review , but im stuck in choice between this and the blue peugeot django sport which is more retro and suited to me , any reviews in that scooter plz ?

cager porque nao tentas exprimentar a bmw k1600gt? pelo que ouvi dizer e uma mota fantastica consegues o test drive?
Great video.still ride the Honda?
Will this accommodate slightly 'fatter'-wider tires with more aggressive all-terrain tread?
Thanks for your information, I went for the Bergmann!
Do they sell the Honda Forza in Portugal ? You should try and test drive that one :)
PCX is the best selling scooter in the UK too
***** I keep seeing them all the time here in Warwickshire. Am considering one myself.
Now there's one more in Warwickshire. I bought it :-)

There are water cooled machines! They can travel for a loooong time dude!
Wow! Portugal is such a beautiful country. Same like middle East

Parabens pelo canal! Um bom review compreendendo tudo que gostaria!
wow! Portugal looks so much like Greece :D
I have driven one of those before.
I'm 12 years old
Great review pal. Just bought one myself.
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
You wont be able to lock the rear wheel as the brakes are linked. My 1998 honda vfr 800 is the same. Keep up the good work.
Not true. I have the 2019 PCX and I locked the rear wheel few days ago on a wet road. Luckily I was going really slow.
So, Cager, is the Honda PCX125 worth buying, I mean, will it have value for money for a 125cc scooter, or is there a better one?
P.S. damn those headlights are really bright!
Hi from UK. Very entertaining review. Many thanks.
Cager, PCX, Forza ou NMAX? Obrigado!
0:36 "updated version for two thousand and four"... you naughty naughty cager boy ;)
Após ter visto a tua crítica à YAMAHA MAJESTY e à HONDA PCX, fiquei a gostar das duas! A ver vamos qual irei escolher! Abraço e continua com as (boas) críticas!
Could you please do a review of the Aprilia sr max 300? Thank you
Could anyone help to make the pcx go more faster ? What do I have to change ?. Also could anyone help which tires to buy that are more suitable for rain ? thx
Yes, here is some advice, get a bigger bike!
Great review - enjoyed it very much !
Put a baby in here...cracked me up
Yea :) and the detailed how to :D
Strange... I've tested yesterday and it did on flat more than 60mph. This one and your fisrt gen PCX top out at 108 kph. This one is much slower than yours at pulls from 0... Your PCX was considered the fastest one 0-100kph. Mine is from 2013 and it's fastest than 2014 model when pulls but have a top speed of 120kph and it's slower than what you had until 100kph. love your video and your humor and i was nervous watching you driving lol

CagerOnTwoWheels love your reviews! Would you advice the Honda PCX 150, i live in the states, and most of the times the in town speed limites are over over 40miles an hour? Thank you Vincent
buy the Suzuki or Honda. they are the most reliable :) and that's what matters on a 125cc . Have a good day sir
very nice review. I just curious if the baby thing was a joke
Bad with the Dunlop tires?
Beautiful! Thanks
Gratz and thank you for test,
Best..
great review. thank you very much!
so the only thing is the rear suspension( can be replaced with after market) and the tires (also can be replaced bij after market) so for 2.799,00 (dutch price) and about for about 150-200 euro more you have a 125 scooter with not problems ; ) wel i have say its a good deal and that part of gething to 100(for mills per hour its around 60) wel you can get a after market variateur for that (it wil help realy) but it wil set you back another 150-160
She was supposed to come Baaack! I love it.
updated for 2004??? uh 10 years off?
I hope you get to go check out a Triumph someday soon, or maybe even a Ducati 899 Panigale, they sell at 14,500USD and have 148HP
Nice review, but you say that it isn't fit for traveling long distances and yet there are whole clubs of people who use PCX 125 as adventure bikes basically :D I once saw two korean ladies riding around the world on PCX :D
So its a boat too?
Can you please activate the Automatic Subtitles Option?!
If you were making a choice between a PCX and a Piaggio Fly, which one would you pick? This is for city driving to work in the US. Anyone, chime in, thanks!
Kathleen Struck pcx it's just built bigger feels safe
I have had my PCX for over a year and I LOVE it. Thinking about getting something bigger!
Aqui no Brasil a PCX vende como água!
Nice work man!! 👍
Good review, Thanks
Not sure about those LED lights, They're barely visible in daylight - makes you less noticeable to traffic :-/
Nice video. Eu assisti inteiro antes de perceber que tinha em português kk, ficou muito bom, e consegui saber as informações que procurava.
Honda Canada has a clearance on PCX 150 , 2999.00 or aprox 2100 Euro , hard to pass this up .
2990 for the 150! Dam you're lucky in Canada as here in the UK it costs the same for the 125cc version.
As you make these (excellent) vids for English speakers, could you please use our measurements, ie MILES? Gallons is a bit trickier, I know, because US and UK gallons are different. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Love you pcx

Tens de fazer o teste com a 150cc para a malta ver o que se ganha por mais 300 euros 2cv e 2Nm binário :)
Gostei muito de teu video and your englisg is goos. I am thinking about to buy a pcx soon!
Thanx for the review.
:-)
Seems like it's really fun in city, and it looks very nice!
Tnx :)
you killed me when you said you can fit a baby in here
Did you dieded?

I bought one today en just like Portugal I can drive any 125 with my car licence (Belgium)
How about the bmw f700gs? Enough toys.
Question. Is it true that in portugal all drugs are legal?
possession of drugs is allowed in portugal, but selling it is ilegal. As a result addicts lost fear of seeking help and drug usage itself went into a drastic decline
VoltaireUSG Ok, thanks for the info. A teacher had discussed that briefly and I was unable to get all the details.
