Used the standard tyres, rear was getting bald so figured i would replace it on the way. Took me a about 1000 miles to actually find someone that sold a tyre to fit and when i changed it the fabric was showing! Very difficult to find a replacement so change before you go and take a good repair kit! Other than that its a good tourer, make sure you do Switzerland as its amazing!!
Great trip and tribute to Honda and 125 cc engines. Thanks much. I have a 1984 Honda Elite CH125 which runs like new. At 74, I ride it daily and always get 90 to 100 mpg. Wish I could afford PCX 125. Great video. Jerry-Central Florida
Great trip with the little PCX. I have a PCX150 and it's far more than just a scooter for the city. Travelling about 80-100Km/h for longer time (with a higher Givi shield) is no problem you even have some reserve it goes about 120Km/h.It's a really great little machine!
For me it's Pcx125 30.000 km /2year. Effectively with high Givi windshield, Thermoscud Tucano legs cover, handgrips, Givi tunnel bag EA105B , topcase, givi saddles bags EA101B, perfect to ride long time and far away!
Such beautiful images! You give me courage to travel with my 300cc scooter around Europe. You see I have several friends that make fun of me and tell me that I would be crazy if I dared to do this with a scooter. Keep traveling, my friend!
because of this video i went to switserland and austria for the first time on my bike this year, and more country's i thought the video was deleted :P, nice to see it again after my own trip

Awesome video to watch and pictures too were fantastic! Thank you for sharing with us all! PCX is on my list and most likely will own one within a week :)
just awesome ! you inspired me a lot ! I'm planning to make a similar trip to Venice from Bratislava this year on my PCX 150. Greetings from Slovakia :)
I didnt keep track. Fuel cost was one of the cheapest parts of the trip, camping by Lake Geneva was like £30 a night!! I always wanted to do a trip like this but in my car it would be too expensive, even fully loaded i think the pcx was pulling over 100/mpg. Normally i get about 115/120 mpg.
I think it took me about 11 days doing about like 200 miles a day. I dont have any kind of blog but its worth looking up Andrew Charnley as he took his PCX half way round the world before it blew up and he had to continue on a bicycle!! He's on facebook and has a very good blog thats worth looking at.
Why "the hard way". I think it's even more simple to go on a light bike: you're not in hurry, because you don't have the power to go very fast, therefore you can enjoy everything passing by. It's cheaper! It's more lightweight! Afterall I think it's more a journey than on a bigger bike.
Fair Play Mate. Just got a PCX in black and your video was excellent. May bung mine on the ferry to Santander and head for Portugal or something! Thanks.
Great video man! I own a hyosung gt125r and together with some friends I have already made trips of 1-2 weeks around mountains, campaigns etc. I respect you a lot and I hope to make a trip like your this summer!
And i'm agree :"the little pcx never let me down!!! So cheap, simply, economic gas consumption, easy to maintaining and fixing...respect to Honda manufacturer !
Fantastic video. I've been thinking about getting a PCX 125, and was wondering if I would be able to do long trips on it. I have made up my mind after watching your video!
Would you have more of this video you could share? I'd like to see more (I mean, you had like 10 seconds of Paris for Pete's sake!) Great video - but sure hope you have more from this trip you'd be willing to share with us here. (Love your PCX, but I'm a big guy so I bought the 2014 Forza NSS300)

seeing this video in 2024 after buying my first pcx , what a joy to watch!! do you have a list of what gear u used to transport and carry all the stuff? i'm looking into doing a road trip in my country as well and your setup looked pretty neat!
This should serve as two fingers up to the guys who ride bigger bikes. Just cos it's called a scooter doesn't place limits on what you can do or where you can go.
just ordered a sym st 125.I d like to make this on summer but unfortunately my holidays is on winter time,I always thought to do this. Now i see its not that difficult also in winter.
Thank you for sharing these.... How long would it take for you to complete your journey...? Do you have any site/blog post on this particular awesome journey...? Would you mind sharing it with us...?
I have a decent few cars and dont need to worry about finances too much. That said I still fancy one of these just for fun, but it doesn't square with most peoples reason for getting this sort of bike...I.e a cheap commuter. But I still want one even though it makes no sense atall for me to get one.
I added a 12v charger to the battery, cost a few quid. Also charged everything at campsites when i found sockets...at times i unplugged TV's, heaters, snack machines... :)
Hi! Awesome video, very motivating too. I just want to ask, after all those years, have you upgraded to Honda Forza 125? Or stayed with the pcx. Cheers!
Abel Aulia Pratama The songs are both by 'The Cribs', had my music set on random but The Cribs just kept coming on all the time so it became the soundtrack to my trip, whenever i hear them now i get the urge for another road trip...
furstyferret81 already download the music... "We share the same skies" and "I'm A realist" by the cribs :D. once again, thanks for sharing this beautiful Road Trip Video (y).
Awesome, just yesterday I was thinking of europe tour. Just one question, please tell me what tires you have used on your trip? Standard tires are crap. Thanks a lot.
Great video! Got a question. You had quite a lot of stuff with you. Of all the gear you took, what would you say was the most useful (apart from obvious ones like tent, sleeping bag, money etc)? And what was the least useful and a waste of space?
The chain lock weighed about 2kg and i think i ditched it on like day 3. A good Europe satnav was essential for finding campsites and planning the next days ride. 12v plug attached to the battery to keep phone/satnav charged (the old pcx doesnt have one). Tall screen. Wish i took handlebar muffs, i removed them because i thought it would be so warm but i had plenty or snow and rain, wet gloves on a cold morning with 10 hours riding ahead is horrible.I think above all the rubber waterproof rainsuit i had saved me, i even slept in it a couple of nights, dont underestimate just how cold it can get even when the weather should be good. Do a small 300mile two day trial run and see what works before you go!
Thanks for reply! Will take a small disc lock rather then chain lock. Got tomtom maps on my phone so will take that rather then separate device. Got a tall screen already installed. Muffs is definitely a good idea; I've been commuting this winter and blimey hands can get really cold even with chunky gloves on. So just ordered pair online. Good idea with the trial run! I'll organise a weekend trip to a campsite in Wales after New Year. By the way, was the jerrycan helpful? When I went to Alps in a car several years ago, I saw plenty petrol stations scattered around.
respect for this, i am planing to do the same. some questions: what is daily km maximum you made and what was avarage speed ? is your pcx tuned ? any advices you can give me ?
Hey man, nice vid. thanks. Let me ask you, how you feel once you drive in winter, once road is wet, slippery on your Honda PCX 125 ? Can you handle it? Is that safe ?
zawsze mnie zastanawia kwestia zabezpieczeń takich skuterów, przymierzam się do zakupu PCX'a i nie daje mi spokoju właśnie ta kwestia, nie czujesz strachu parkując gdzieś skuter i idąc załóżmy coś pozwiedzać? czy masz wykupione AC? jeżeli tak to ile mniej więcej kosztuje? pozdro
Awsome! Is your PCX modified? I mean you did mountain passes with it! How about topspeed of your PCX? Is it comfortable on highway (to travel around 150km)? Thanks and best regards from Switzerland
It was a little slow on the passes as i had her fully loaded but i still kept up with most traffic, best not to mess and tune with such a small engine because it performs just fine (mostly cursed about at like 55mph)! Having a rucksack on the back to lean on made it much more comfortable. The only problem i had was with the larger roads in France as they are only two lanes with some real bad drivers and its a boring trek to get the good stuff further south from the UK. I was doing a tank a day (maybe 140 miles) and could of happily done more but needed to get checked into a campsite before 6ish each night really. Crossing from France to Switzerland was like a new world, you live in one amazing, beautiful and friendly country! I will have another adventure that focuses on Switzerland soon, possibly starting with a ferry to Santander...but then Iceland and Norway are calling me.. . :)
This has probably been asked, but what limitations of the bike did you notice? What would you have changed or modified? I’m wanting to do a cross country scooter trip and deciding what to purchase. Thanks, great video!
Hello mate Planning to circumnavigate Ireland in a few days, +- 5000 miles on my PCX, but having trouble getting break down cover for peace of mind! Did you have any ,and who was it with as Ireland is part of the EU?
Rowan Brown i did get breakdown cover for the trip but i dont remember who with. To be honest so long as you have oil and petrol in it i dont see you having any problems. Think it was £30?
hey m8! I`m just about to purchase one of the PCX. What is your suggestions about this little machine? Max travel distance? Did you ever noticed any problems with the engine at long range? Average travel speed? Cheers your answers
Its a good little bike and i still have mine but I will be upgrading to a Honda S-Wing 125 next year as its just a better bike. The PCX was fine doing very long runs and mountain climbs even when loaded up with gear. Its never let me down but the center stand had cracked, this is a common problem and can kill the bike as the stand attachment is part of the engine case. When it cracks it can cause an oil leak!
You've made the best advert for the pcx and all for little scooters!
Used the standard tyres, rear was getting bald so figured i would replace it on the way. Took me a about 1000 miles to actually find someone that sold a tyre to fit and when i changed it the fabric was showing!
