3rd edition is very special to me. I started playing 40k in late 2000, almost halfway thru the edition. I was 12 and obsessed with Nids. Awesome to see this trip back in time!
Not enough Basilisks for a 3rd army imo. I remember they were extremely popular in my area, 100pts for an ordnance template that killed marines on 2's. Even more so once Chaos got them with Iron Warriors.
No Basilisk? Man, those pie-plate, marine vaporizing templates, with an indirect fire range that could fire across parking lots used to make my day. I even remember White Dwarf team, during the Armagheddon campaign played on 3 separate tables with 2 of them guessing the range to support the first table and the orks objective was to literally silence those guns
Oooh I am excited to see how this goes, since I have been playing around 1500pts lately and happen to have almost exactly what is needed to make this army!
Crap! Already 107 comments, anyways have you ever played Space Hulk with the imperial guard using the rules from white dwarf? The reason why I ask is I’m wanting input on point build list for it. Anyways, I love your channel. You are doing great things
I would love to see an older edition guard army being played against a newer edition guard army, both using their own edition's rules to deal and absorb damage. So for example any shot or attack against the 3rd ed army works against toughness and saves in the same way it did back then, for example, and vice versa. Will be especially meaningful for tanks. I would wager the older edition army would win, but I am curious. And since you have all of the same stats now as then prettymuch, they just work differently, you should be able to do it.
If you’re in the UK and not too far, a few mates and I play third and fourth edition on the regular if it’s something you’d be interested in, we’re always looking for more players :)
I haven't played 3rd Edition since, well, 3rd Edition but my brain immediately spit out "1-2 HQ, 0-3 Elite, 2-6 Troops, 0-3 Fast Attack and 0-3 Heavy"
until 8th we had the trusty force organization chart and i still miss it :)
@@nomadzophiel as it should be

Same. Except I was 16.

That's my heyday right there
I love the stormtrooper scion team, thinking about taking a loan out for more..... 👀
OMG, I remember that White Dwarf article!
I got very hyper excited here thinking that there was a 3rd edition tournament taking place 😢 very cool idea for theme here though!

As Long as it is guard. I am In. For the emperor!!!
I remember commissars with jump packs and vortex grenades running around alone back in second ed 😃
Pity you can't take a griffon
That sounds funny
"Pity you can't take a griffon"
Can't he? I mean, not as a Griffon, but just as a Wyvern. I mean, the model is the same size.

This. This is my shit right here. No Lord Solar in sight.
Weirdly consistent with the points!
Oh God, i want Shaefer last Chance back!!!🙂
Very hype!
hey can you do an updated take all comers list?
Love this. Out of interest which doctrines did you take in 4th edition?
Close order Drill baybeeee! 😅
@MordianGlory very on brand. I tooled mine up until my guardsmen were 10pts per model and wondered why I kept losing games.
I’ve got that book!
Nick Davies looks like Mordian (or is it the other way round?)
i'm gonna be honest, I would rather see you play one of the older edition, like 3rd

I would not like to see the mordian glory hole, thank you very much. Joking aside, good luck with your 3rd edition inspired game.
