I picked one of these up. I was never able to get one as a kid. Glad I got mine early since they have to change it. Love the box art. I had a Switchblade, but it's long gone. Hope they make one of those!
This looks very impressive. I decided not to order this one as I am happy enough with my original vintage version. However, I definitely WILL get Gloria's "Shark" (pre-orders are currently active) as that was the one vehicle I always missed fro the series. Now I do have her Lamborghini vehicle with the clone but it's just not the same. Also hoping that Makina will do a proper T-Bob and Scott at one point. I always hated how Kenner made the original one as it just looks silly and completely unlike in the series. I understand their limitations at the time and Scott was a very tiny figure; but if Makina can get knee-joints to work it would allow for him to actually sit on T-Bob like normal. Here's hoping!
U can put a few pieces of tape inside the door to hold the og doors cannons in. It has foam to hold tht breaks down over the years whether you use it or not. A couple peices of black tape will make better than new. Also you can take the red frame off the grey frame & add a penny in the back tht will fix the back so it fully covers & springs better. If u care its a fun, pretty easy project
Cool review of the Gullwing, thanks Tydirium Hanger! They did a great job. Interesting they had to change the box art for the future. MASK was my favorite line growing up, and the smaller scale made for some amazing MASK vehicles. Another reason the smaller scale figures are a nice option versus much larger figures. Great packaging to see it, agreed.
You can get veeeeeery tiny decals for eyes for action figures. Last time I saw them they were for 6 inch figures, but I think to recall even smaller ones.
I got my 2 still in transit to me. Can't wait to get it. Wish they didn't have to change the packaging, as I plan to keep one sealed. Love the old school box look.
Great video, thank you for doing a direct comparison with the original. I can just drop the new one into my MASK display without any space issues. Definitely in on this one.
Sorry to hear that! Ace said to ensure you are on a flat surface and press the button for the wings solidly. There is also a video on facebook Ramen toy for how to correct issues with the back
@@tydiriumhanger1320 Yeah thanks I have seen that video. Mine is really tight and I ended up having to wedge a knife in the door hinge to loosen it up. I guess I just got a defect :/
I wonder what the future packaging will be like, hmmm…. Anyway, still waiting for mine to arrive, but looks like a well executed modern update. I don’t care for the stand design, but that’s an after thought.
Awesome review Mike, just got mine today and it is Sweet...the proportions of the car is not exactly , the side glass is a tad short but RT may be going with toon. Beautiful Piece, Thanks Ramen Toy
I will never understsnd why hasbro hasnt bought these back to retail , the fact that people have got together to get this made should tell hasbro to make mask stuff and we will buy it .
I almost can't believe it. Ramen toys is a real company.. I've been in denial but I actually got the makina gullwing in today. at least one of the preorders I've done which seems like So long ago... Not thrilled about the black and red box, Kind of cheapened out like the GI Joe hiss tank. The first packaging looks better.
15:50 he did mention stealth and shattered glass of gullwing for next year. As for a _"stealth version"_ I'd vote for it being like the blueprint schematics that appear when trakker has his *_"computer, select the M.A.S.K. agents best suited for this mission."_* 🤔 I'd be down for that, and it would represent a nostalgic connection to a part of the lore. Dark/midnight blue with florecent panel lining to make the vehicle frame; and the figures having same stealth/shadow color, but their M.A.K.I.N.A. helmets traced with florescent pink/red. Maybe an early bird can be another matt hawking figure in his suit and with a briefcase/laptop computer. Shattered Glass ideas could be deco'ing the vehicles in the color scheme of their archenemy... i.e. switchblade deco'd gullwing (switchwing, gullblade, thunderblade, switchhawk, etc.); and a manta deco'd great white (or redeco great white as the piranha color scheme).. Another SG option could be deco'ing it in the adventure pack colors (green/yellow suit seems okay, but one would have to be creative to pull off that color for the vehicle).
Another ramen toys missed opportunity... these should have been 1/18 scale. Their centurions figures are too small for 6" scale and too big for 4" scale. Now this.
Mike I missed out on the pre order from ramen toys for this but I did purchase a pre order for a slight markup from robotoyz which is a Australian online store that says they will receive them this month or in September. Do you know if they are a legit source? Also I'm assuming it will be the first run sent because they are in Australia and probably didn't receive there initial shipment yet. If they have pre order listed under red gullwing with original version pictured does that mean i will get the original version?
There are several retailers who placed orders and will be getting the first runs as far as I know. I have never done business with robotoyz so it would be interesting to see how your experience goes

absolutely love the version of RAMEN toy. can't wait to see the future models.
Big fan already.
One of the greatest cartoon openings in all of animation!
Damn right. Love that song.
It's such a classic. Thundercats maybe tops it for me.
One of the most fun parts of making these videos is revisiting the original show and yes the intro is top notch!
@@tydiriumhanger1320 If you want to see something fun in that 80s intro style, check out the Interdimensional ABK theme.
Thank you for supporting
And glad you can see the “need” for this rendition.
We are encouraged to keep going.
If all the future projects are this solid this will be a great line!
I purchased mine from Bombusbee. They said that it will arrive soon. ("Incoming") So I am not sure which version of the Gullwing I will be getting....
@@Recoverel You'll be getting this one, the other one hasn't been produced yet ( probable at the end of this year )

I didn’t know about any of these being made! Wow pretty cool! I’m a huge mask fan
Ramen toys will be making another run of this one and the Great White which looks like the Gloria Baker shark
@@tydiriumhanger1320another run ? I don t see any informations on the website ?!
It's very nice Such an iconic toy
Up there with Optimus Prime I think
I want one!!!

The newer packaging still looks great just less Kenner style

LOL I would never get them applied perfectly almost need a special tool for them

The packaging is the best of both worlds with a great design and opening front flap

It was smart to stick with the same scale only more correct to the vehicle size
Ace did a really great job on this. I'm glad I got one. Thanks for the review.
Glad they took the time to get so many details just right!
@@tydiriumhanger1320 I totally agree.
I hope they do hurricane too with tinted windows opening doors and still have a spinning canon turret
My Gullwing is en route and almost here.
Received mine today, super pumped about the future of this line
Many great options for future releases
Looks great! Hope they release more soon… gonna need more shelves
Great White is next and that one is serious KENNER UNFINISHED BUSINESS!
Yours turned out a lot better than mine. I have the right side door sticking and the back gets stuck a lot. I also wish the mask stayed on better.

That one is next and it is called great white
Such a shame i didnt know about these before today.. i hope i can get the thunderhawk, at least im getting shark at retail price.
So glad I got this one as well.
Gotta have the Flagship piece of the line
Its cool but problem is it doesnt scale with the other vehicles

I also did not like the Stand at first but the finished version is very solid and offers some different display options
M.a.s.k my favorite toyline as kid and this realy looks good
Mask is super near and dear to me also
I am sure the playability is on another level for Makina
True there are many options here and I look forward to the Great White next
I like smaller-sized figures like the ones in MASK than huge 7" figures. The vehicles and playsets would not be too huge but still nice.
It would be nice to get a handful of 6 inch scaled figures but for a full collection this scale is the best
@tydiriumhanger1320 this is what I think about big sets like the Thundercars Cats Liar. If it is in a smaller scale, I would back it!
Awesome review Mike, just got mine today and it is Sweet...the proportions of the car is not exactly , the side glass is a tad short but RT may be going with toon.
Beautiful Piece, Thanks Ramen Toy
I almost bought a Red Camero for my first car but was talked out of it for a Nissan that had no AC. Now I regret that LOL

No the silver bombs were an add on included for your vintage version as a fun Homage.
Rhino rig !
For 180 bucks , no thanks! Idk why these companies think, we will pay a premium for a retro toy reissue....

I can almost spot 3 different helmets
Yes the vintage and the Mad Hawkins and the test shot
