Love it how u get the spectrum emoji
@@bigkeith41 There are a bunch of custom emojis for channel members.
I'm 46. Reliving my childhood with everyone of your videos. Thanks.
Thanks, happy to hear it!
MASK was one of my childhood favorites; right up there with GI Joe and Transformers. Especially in earlier series, the toys were super high quality- and I loved that they were pretty consistent- like all the toys were to scale with each other and their figures. They packed some of them with special features and even though their transforming gimmicks would never have worked in real life, they matched the kind of imagination my friends and I had with our other toys.
Bruh thunder cats, go bots, centurions, silver hawks. damn I miss the 80’s
In terms of playability and screen accuracy, M.A.S.K. is the best 80s toy line. I'm so grateful that I got Thunder Hawk for Christmas. Still have it too, thanks Mom and Dad.
True! Never thought about it but the show was very accurate to the designs of the toys.
The wheel warriors came at also in September of 1985...
I miss those days 💙💯👍
I loved this show and spent many an hour playing with the toys I had. Amazing concept. It really worked. The smaller figure scale made a backyard, living room, or bedroom an even bigger imaginary environment for adventures. It also made the toys easier to take with me when visiting Gramma’s house or cousins that lived a drive away.
You had the toys? Lucky! I remember thinking the figures were way too small back when I was a kid, but I appreciate them much more now. It's amazing how posable they are for their size. They fit perfectly in their vehicles which isn't always true for Joes and their vehicles.
@@MichaelMercy I did. I had the Raven, Gator, Condor, Switchbalde, and Piranha. Oh, and I did have T-Bob. LOL. T-Bob and Scott came with me a lot. They were easy to drop into a pocket for any trip. I probably played with Condor the most of any single vehicle. Piranha was a good match-up, both being bikes. The coolest looking of my collection was the Raven, though. Who doesn’t love a black sports car that FLIES and fires saw blades?!
I think Spectrum could actually make toilet paper and build a toilet if Tracker was on a mission and needed relief.
😆The many powers of Spectrum!
Some of the happiest days of my life were spent playing with Mask toys, what a line, what fun they were!
Looking at the giant figures of today, it’s clear that you can really do more with less. These tiny figures were amazing and allowed imaginations to run wild. I loved this collection back in the day.
I agree on the small scale figure lines. They really did do more with less!
Great job. Commentary was spot on. Collection was amazing. Effects, visuals, cut scenes and audio are amazing. Nice !
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it.
I'm more than 40 years old and I'm convinced MASK still today has the best ever opening theme for a western cartoon!
It's a classic!
MASK holds a special place in my heart. Thanks for the retrospective!❤
Thanks, so nice to hear. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great editing, loving this retro review!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Hello from France. I'm 45 and we have this great animated series and toys in France in 80's.
Thank you for your video.
Merci! 🙏
I’m mainly a Transformers collector, but MASK is the only other toyline I have vowed to never sell. The toys and show hold a special place for me.
Fun fact: on the show, Scott Trakker was voiced by Brennan Thicke, son of Growing Pains actor Alan Thicke and brother of Blurred Lines singer Robin Thicke.
Interesting! Alan Thicke is greatly missed.
Aw, it's always fun to hang out in the Toy Museum with you! And man... how bad did I want a T-Bob in real life when I was 5yrs old!!! (the answer: Pretty Bad!)
Thanks!
Yeah me too he was one of those toys that I never saw and didn't even know it existed.
Over here in the uk, we were lucky enough to have a weekly MASK comic which had a half decent run. Without a doubt my favourite childhood toy and cartoon series.
Weekly? That's awesome!
Dude. Talk about a childhood favorite. I loved Condor!
T Bob the Jar Jar Binks of Mask😂
No way, T-Bob's much cooler.
@@MichaelMercy still a bit annoying though🤣
I loved the original toyline and had almost all of it. Nothing but fond memories of this show. It would be cool if they could make a newer updated cartoon series.
You can watch the original show here: tubitv.com/series/300006792/mask
I had Boulder Hill as a kid , I'm Still kicking myself for losing it piece by piece over my childhood years.
I like how you gave Striker a small Blaster.
MASK and Transformers were my fav toys growing up into my 40's.
MASK made such an impression on me in my formative years!
Wow this is bringing back memories, I had these as a kid
I love the effort you put into chronicling our childhood
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. They're a lot of time and work but the creativity and ingenuity of these old toys are inspiring!
That's a beautiful collection, congratulations.
I loved Mask as a child, and got really nostalgic seeing this video. Thank you, for bringing back these happy memories.
Thank you! I was lucky enough to get most of it a decade ago before vintage toy prices skyrocketed. So glad to hear the video brought back fond memories.
Another great video Michael! Thanks!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you Michael for taking me back to my childhood. This was fantastic!
Thanks, happy to see you enjoyed it.
Amazing Work as always. Thanks for being Awesome!!!
Thanks, appreciate it!
What a banger of a line. GIJoe dominated my toy box from 85 to 87, but there were a few MASK vehicle/driver combos that were sprinked in and saw considerable action in the backyard. I will always remember my paternal grandmother surprising me with Firefly/Julio Lopez one day when we visited her. That memory is as clear as any from my childhood, and that toy remains my favorite from the entire MASK line. Great job with this overview of another classic series, Michael.
Thanks! Happy to hear you enjoyed it, and sharing your memories.
Just what I needed. Thanks, Michael!
Thanks, enjoy!
My mother got me that collection because she knew I loved the cartoon show
Epic collection and episode!! Looking forward to the next one!! Super happy to give back and to show support for everything you do my friend!!! NERDMASTÉ ON!!!!!
Thanks Gazz!
Lol the more I watch your videos the more i want to collect some of my old toys again
I loved that !! Thanks for making it, can't wait for the next ones
Thank you, glad that you enjoyed it.
Your videos make me genuinely happy! ❤
Thanks, that's nice to hear. Glad you enjoyed this one.
Thank you for sharing this! It was a blast from the past of my childhood. I had all of these toys and watched all the shows.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Thank You for this. So many great memories with these toys. Still have a few of these vehicles from my childhood. Top notch work as always Michael.
Thanks so much! So glad to hear you enjoyed it and that it brought back good memories.
Condor was my first and favorite M.A.S.K. toy.
really enjoyed this! thank you
Thanks. I’ve been waiting for you to do this one. Another great video by you Michael Mercy “where nostalgia is your ultimate weapon!”
That has a nice ring to it! Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I've been wanting to do this one for years. So nice to finally have it finished.
Brilliant as always Mr Mercy !!!
Thanks so much!
Great video! I loved these toys…only ever had Condor as a kid, though. I grew up in Cincinnati, so Kenner was in my back yard. Someone at our church worked there and brought a bunch of Sly figures to give away to the kids. I still have a couple of those figures and I still have my childhood Condor (somehow, lol). I bought a Hurricane a couple years ago…always wanted one as a kid.
Thanks! That's cool that you grew up right near Kenner HQ.
Church connections were the best. There was always someone in the pews that had a cool job and was generous with the Sunday School kids.
So many memories! Thanks for this video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Exquisite work, Michael!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Year in and out i keep wishing for a revival or fresh release of MASK. Come on, Hasbro, do it!
P.s. The MASK theme has gotta be one, if not the best cartoon theme song of all time.
Hope not! I'd hate to see MASK be another failed reboot. Reissues of the originals would be nice as long as they don't have the crazy "nostalgia tax" they put on some of the Transformers reissues. That theme is straight 🔥 Spectrum must have composed it.
@@MichaelMercy there was already an attempt from Hasbro in the past to include MASK into their "multiverse" of franchises. There was even a special boxset of toys called Revolution that included Transformers (Jetfire), Micronauts, GI Joe,Matt Trakker from MASK. And yes not also keen on a reboot, but just a reissue of the Kenner toys.
Great video! What a trip down nostalgia lane. I had many of those toys, and my friends had the others! I remember so clearly what they felt like in my hands, thanks to this video! And I love the interactions/demonstrations with other 80s toys, and the graphics and sfx! Well done!
Thanks! Happy to hear it.
I'm a brand new subscriber. Awesome video! Love seeing the old toys in such pristine condition! Great job and can't wait for the next M.A.S.K. videos!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video!
Great job ! Looking forward to the next videos on M.A.S.K !
Thanks so much! I'm excited about doing '86, '87 and '88.
watching this was almost like having them again, and I had all of them. Thank you!
Love to hear that. Thanks!
Great job adding the effects and thank you for syncing the commercial intros and outros from MASK with the UA-cam commercials!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Omg, thank you so much for this!!!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
Such a great video! Extra geek points for the Buck Rogers laser blast sound effect at 5:04
I still have my MASK lunchbox. Great video.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for your research, very well and full of memories !
Glad you enjoyed it, cheers!
Excellent video! It is great to see all the other gems made alongside the toy line. I enjoy reading the comics for a different storyline.
Thanks Droz! I need to check those comics out.
My favorite toy line and cartoon as a kid. CAN'T WAIT TO WATCH THIS!
this is my new fave 'big kid' channel! fantastic v and sfx btw - great polish - hope you go far
Thanks!
I absolutely enjoyed this incredible video. The sheer amount of time and editing that went into making this is mind blowing, massive win, new subscriber here!
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video, sir. I still recall getting all the first wave vehicles that Christmas.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh my. This brings back memories. I had all the original MASK toys as a kid. They're currently all in a massive box in my loft. Tempted to bring em down and have a big play lol.
Have fun!
Your videos are always fantastic! I didn't have any of the mask toys when I was young, and I still enjoyed this video tremendously
Thanks Dave! That's great to hear. I didn't have any either, but when I got back into toy collecting, they were some of the first I tracked down.
I was 7 in 1985 and was a massive M.A.S.K fan. I got Condor as a gift when I was in hospital having my tonsils out haha
Perfect start to A amazing video.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
@MichaelMercy You are welcome and thank you for all the videos you have put in.
This was one of my all time favorite shows and loved these toys so much!
Thank you for a great video! I had several MASK toys and, even then, I thought they were pretty well made and held up quite well!
Thanks for watching, so glad you enjoyed it! Yup, like most Kenner toys from the 80s they're built to last!
"M.A.S.K., is the mighty power that can save the day..." Cool to see a documentary covering the history of MASK, thanks! 1st buy was Condor. My favorite line growing up with 14 vehicles/boulder hill back then and it deserves a new run! Really like the smaller scale too at 3" figures. Thanks!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Love this, Michael! MASK was a huge part of my childhood. I was only in for the first two years of the line but man, I was 100% hooked.
Thanks!
A lot of cool Easter eggs another great video Mike
Thanks!
@@MichaelMercy your welcome

Glad to hear it!
Beautiful collection.

Same here!

Brother I know you put alot of love❤and time⏰ into this vid and it shows!! Thank you!🙏
Thanks Jake, glad you enjoyed it!
Sooo good! Takes me back to my childhood! Thank you good sir! 🍻
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
This bring me back to my childhood.. Thanks for the video!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for checking it out!
love the SFX you added to the toys, just like we all imagined while playing with them
Thanks! Never had these when they first came out but it's nice to get to finally play around with them. This had to be one of the most fun toy lines of the 80s.
This was RAD! Thanks!
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
This video so cool edited 😊 thanks for some nostalgia ❤
Thanks, glad you liked it.
Miles toy head sculpt always reminded me of Mr. Belvedere.
Haha, true!
Great channel, i love your commentary and history of the toys
Thank you!
The amazing thing, to me, is how good the figures are. Some companies would have skimped on them as an afterthought, but they stand up on their own, even without the vehicles.
And even without the vehicles, the figures were pretty powerful thanks to their mask powers. Especially Spectrum!
Awesome! Loved it 🤩
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
Great summary of my favourite childhood show.
Thanks!
Such a great video!
Thanks!
Good job with your video, pretty cool!
Thanks!
Fantastic video… I used to have all 10 of the Toys and a couple of T-Bobs. My fav was always Gator. Loved all the music and the computer voice. Class cartoon and memories.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed.
Watching this video, feels like experiencing someone's childhood fantasy.
Somewhere in the rainforest part of Suriname in the '80. Some kids in a remote village has few of my MASK toys. I can't remember whether I gave it to them or they stole it from me when I visited their village. Anyway, I'm glad I shared and introduced MASK toys to them. I do remember they were was amazed of them as I was back then. The transformation gimmicks make them stand out from most other toys in that era. Let alone to some forest dwellers in the rainforest.
That's cool!
Amazing Job!!!
Thank you!
Great video, Michael! I only have a few of the vehicles (Switchblade, Condor, half of Piranha, and Bullet - rest in peace Thunderhawk, where ever you are) but it's still one of my favorite toy lines to this day. I also really enjoyed the scenes you created with the characters from other toy lines. Thank you!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. MASK works really well with so many other toy lines thanks to their small size.
Cool special effects for each figure/vehicle. Great job!
Thanks, appreciate it!
@@MichaelMercy Yes, very cool to see those special effects and sound effects to these. Looking forward to the next parts, thanks!
MASK, Visionaries, Spiral Zone and Thunder Cats, G.I. Joe these are the few cartoons I loved to watch when I was a kid!
Epic video! Such a clever concept. I loved these toys, but I only ever had two of them. I do believe you’ve made the definitive MASK “history of” video.
Thanks! One of the most fun ones to make so far.
Oh wow! This is gonna be freaking awesome!! Recently completed my 1985 line and have all but two of the 1986 line. Absolutely love M.A.S K.
Congrats! What are you still missing from '86?
@@MichaelMercy The big hitters. Volcano and Outlaw.
@@40somethingmanchild Those are going to hurt the wallet. Good luck with the hunt! If you find a Volcano that won't work, just try rolling it forward to un-sieze the motor. I've had a lot of motorized old toys that seized up and was able to get them working again by just moving the motorized parts for a while.
@@MichaelMercy Thanks for the tips on Volcano. There was a UK Facebook live sale on Friday and I picked up a boxed Pitstop Catapult, but he also had a boxed Volcano for £120. I nearly made an offer, but the wallet can't take a hit that big right now. Outlaw is going to be hard, all those pieces! Great video btw, really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the '86 edition 😊
Had Piranha, Iguana and Bullldog for my collection, the others were various iteration from Transformers, He-Man and Thundercats!!!! Nice memory, Michael!!!!
Lucky! Bulldog looks awesome. Never tracked one down though. Glad it brought back good memories!
MASK made a major impact and I still have my Thunderhawk. Another awesome review. The 1980's were truly amazing
Thanks, brother! See you at the next Bingemans show hopefully!
35 years old and I feel like I just played with my toys again. I don't know why this was so interesting to me but dang you got me with all the lazers an tory line here lol. Ill subscribe i reckon
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
The MASK 1985 toyline & cartoon series were terrific!
Agreed!
10/10 for video editing and production
Thanks! All thanks to the many powers of Spectrum.
As a GenXer I approve of this early morning classic 👌 ❤ great video...mask had the coolest toys
