    Thank you for a lot of good information! The part on diet was a bit superficial. High energy diet? What is that? Most high energy diets are diets that are heavily processed - so, is it the high energy (how ever you want to define that) that is the problem - or the level of processing that is causing the bad effects?

      The diet provided to the animals was high in refined sugars and saturated fats. This is what caused changes in the gut microbiome associated with the cognitive changes.
