    Worried about toxicity? I take 4gms three times per day. No problems at all. Ascorbic acid powder is very soluble so 4gms in 5-10 mls of water is just fine.

    I live in the UK, and I'm very fair skinned, so I don't sunbathe. I'm in my mid-50s now, and my skin and hair are dry since menopause. I'm a carnivore, eating plenty of good quality meat and fish and veg. I'm not keen on salads, but I do eat nuts a few times a week (almonds, walnuts, and pistachios). I take 6,000iu D3 with 90 mcg K2 (Mk7) daily. I also take fish oil, magnesium, a complex 50 vit B, and 1g Vit C. Once or twice a week, I also take a Vit E, which gives 134mg of D-Alpha Tocopherol.

      There's no mention of it because Dr. Carr's work shows that natural vs. synthetic doesn't matter. The complex is made up - something that had never been shown scientifically.

    I got rid of covid at the very start of it with oral vit c 24 grams the first day, declining every day until the 3rd day at 12 gr and I was no longer feeling sick, and I've not stopped taking it ever since, though the amount is much less. Nothing quite like trying it, documenting it, experiencing recovery to make it a part of life. One of my better choices.

    I don't think we should fear red meat that much. What is important, is that we eat high quality, grass fed meat, and completely avoid CAFO meat, which is very unhealthy, and also very very bad for the environment.

    I believe most Synthetic vitamin c is sub standard! Natural NON GMO food sourced vitamin C is the real deal and the full package as nature intended. But in times of illness I would compliment this with a high quality less than natural source! I can share the expert testimonials to explain if anyone is genuinely interested. ❤

    • @thelinuspaulinginstitute
      @thelinuspaulinginstitute 5 місяців тому

      Raw meat contains vitamin C, although most of it is lost upon cooking. Organs contain more vitamin C, and an appreciable amount will remain after cooking. Also, herbs and other plant materials do contain vitamin C. Teas made from these products have been shown to contain vitamin C - especially pine needle tea, which has been part of traditional medicines of indigenous peoples of the northern regions for millennia.

    Meat doesn't have a "negligible" amount of Vitamin C. Fresh beef has enough to cure and prevent scurvy.

    • @thelinuspaulinginstitute
      @thelinuspaulinginstitute 5 місяців тому

      Yes, uncooked meat can prevent scurvy, but is destroyed if heated. Most people do not eat raw or very rare beef, so the contribution to vitamin C in the body is small compared to fresh fruits and vegetables.
