The prestigious Olympic Games events are once again here with us, and all roads are headed to Paris. But even as track and field athletes across the world make their final preps for the Olympic Games in Paris, one significant name is going to be missing in the women’s sprint events. And that name guys is Jamaica’s sprint sensation Elaine Thompson-Herah. A woman who has gradually established herself to become the fastest female athlete alive in the world, thanks to her phenomenal personal best of 10.54 seconds in the women’s 100 meters clocked at the 2021 Prefontaine Classic.
After sustaining an injury at the 2024 USATF NYC Grand Prix on June 19th, Elaine Thompson who prides herself as the two-time Olympic sprint double champion has not recovered. The injury forced Thompson-Herah to withdraw from the Jamaican Olympic Trials which automatically means she will miss this year’s Olympic Games. This is truly sad, especially to her fans who expected her to defend her sprint double crown.

Elaine has given track fans a unmatched legacy of excellence in sprinting. She has nothing left to prove. I sincerely hope she is able to get healthy and fit. It's hard to see such a talented athlete plagued by injuries, but I'm a loyal fan who continues to wish her the best.
She has left a legacy, 10.54 is not easy. We wish her well.

It is sad because we haven't seen the best of a fit Elaine. She has to take personal responsibility for some of her downfalls. The truth is she has always been plagued by injuries and coach Francis knew how to manage those injuries. He might have an unorthodox way of doing some things but she has to be willing to give up something, and I hope that thing isn't the rest of her career. Don't business what people want to think Elaine. Do what's best for you even if it means going back to coach Francis.

What do you mean we haven't seen her best? She's the second fastest woman in history! She's been faster then SFP. The likely hood of her being faster was very low given that she pretty much shocked the world when she set her personal records. It wasn't like she was running times like that and it was just a matter of when.

Based on what “I think” is the solution to the problem, it all seems to hinge on him returning as her coach.
While she was with him, she was winning and building.
W/out him, things have been a bit more “complicated”.
I read somewhere that based on whatever disagreement they had, he stated he would not coach her again (ever).
But based on this interview, things sound more promising.
But whatever the deal is, I’m still looking forward to her “bounce back” and for her to continue establishing herself as one of the greatest women sprinters in history!

Yes indeed !!! I am among Elaine Thompson's biggest fans. I want Elaine to speak truth to herself and that truth is that she needs Stephen Francis now more than ever and I think that Stephen Francis needs her in order to once again prove that he is undoubtedly the best coach in this hemisphere . Franno does not need Elaine because MVP has shown, time and again, that the club is bigger than any one athlete. Franno does not need to prove anything else in this sport. He brought athletes, across different disciplines, to the highest of highs in this sport. At the Olympics and WC, the overwhelming majority of our medals have come from MVP. Elaine has decided that she does not need MVP; let's respect her choice.

The boss is right, the coach where she is now do not know the method needed for this kind of athele, she cant be lifting up brick and mortar to get back to a compitive shape, when the lady was training her last year she improve rappidly ovr the last 4 races at the end, so the camp know the style needed for her progression, she was one of the mpv coach working with her.
According to a recent documentary, her husband was her new coach.

Not sure Kersee will do well in sprint coaching. We've seen Sydney struggle with 100 & 200m.
@@TNFWorldwide Sydney who is struggling? I think you need to check her stats. She has broken the world record in the hurdles 4 times. Her pb is 100m-11.07, 200m-22.07, 400m-48.74 and 100mh-12.65. 43 Olympic medals, 28 of them gold, and 55 World Championships medals, 40 gold. No other coach in the world has his stats.

You’re delusional if you believe that Shelly is doing better than when she was at MVP. Since she left MVP she lost the Olympic finals to Elaine, who was at MVP at the time, and the world championships 200m to Shericka in 2022 and the 100m to Sha’carri and Shericka in 2023. Speak with objectivity and logics instead of sheer emotion. Stephen Francis is obviously a great coach, because when Shelly left, he coached Elaine to beat her, and when Elaine left, he coached Shericka to beat both Shelly and Elaine.

She achieved her goal of running under 10.70. If you are going to mention the "bad", also mention the good. Also, let's also factor in one important element: age.
