Agree with the sentiments shared below. Proper analysis and objectivity. She's not healthy enough and her entire race was structured to compensate for and protect that right knee. No explosion out of the blocks and a conservative drive phase. Her speed endurance isn't there either. You could see she was trying but the body just wasn't responding. Hampered training no doubt.
We shouldn't expect fireworks from Shelly this year, which happens to be her last year. My two main reasons for saying this are: 1. She is older 2.Her wearing knee brace is a sign of her nursing an injury
I'm probably the biggest SAFP fan ever since 08. However fitness and soundness are very different things. I have been concerned about her soundness ever since she broke down in that relay. While I remain concerned I have identified Shelly as possibly the best strategic athletes I have ever seen. In that sense I trust her if she believes she has 1 more maximum A performance and is exercising cautious progress towards giving that 1 final effort. Conspicuously curious is that none of our premier females are in close to A game shape and I sense we are in trouble. If any of them can overcome that malaise and find a way to perform on the big stage, in my opinion that person is Shelly. Me jus a watch.

Great to see Shelly-Ann back on the track, finally!! Sis was jogging though! She knows her competition here, no need to run with force when these aren’t the ladies to do that against.
It seems she is not fully over that lingering knee problem from last season. Maybe part of the reason she is just opening her season, she want to run hard as least as possible.
@@JayDublow correct. That’s why she clearly didn’t want to explore from the blocks like she usually do. Because jodean Williams was right with her until the latter part of the race.
Unfortunately knee problems neva go away. Especially when you're doing an explosive distance like sprints. Just have to manage it to the best of their ability
Dr. The Honourable Ambassador Mrs. Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce OJ, CD remains, in my opinion, the greatest female 100m sprinter EVER. I have screamed and cheered, jumped and cried for her since Penn Relays in 2007. She has represented her God, herself, her family, her country, the Caribbean, Track and Field, her sponsors and women as well as any other female athlete in the history of sports. I, too, am concerned with some aspects of Sister Pryce's season opener. However, I am not her, her coach, or her medical team. They know best, so I won't speculate. I will do what I have always done - be a rabid, biased, annoying, unapologetic and fully committed Mommy Rocket fanatic!! I do not know what the next two months will bring, but I wish her success, and I look forward to seeing her win her final Olympic medals. My only disappointment? She will not be the first female athlete to run at least a hundred sub-11 100m races. As Zyon's Mommy and Mr. Jason Pryce's wife moves towards the end of her unbelievable career, I will continue to support her with all my enthusiasm and passion. She is, and always will be, my favourite athlete of all time. GO, MOMMY ROCKET, GOOOOOOOO!!🚀🚀
It doesn't look good so far for Jamaica's top women sprinters so far this year. Elaine is in trouble and Shericka is about a second down on 200m from this time last year. Wishing them the best. There's still time for a turnaround.
Little time left in real terms. Elaine won't make it and time has caught up with Shelly. For Jamaican female sprinters, Sherika is its best bet for a medal in Paris.

But you are now respectfully giving up on the pocket mammy rocket. But before most of you write her off and put her out to pasture, consider this, she would have won the nyc grand prix with that same 11.15 time. And thats her first race. But ofcourse you all dont care, because you all are not loyal. I said it about 2 years ago, i warned SAFP, not to be taken up with the praises of you hypocrites. I warned her and miss Jackson to look at how you all was treating ETH, and in time they can and would turn on you both. As for me, im sticking by ETH, and i am glad she opted out of the 200m to escape the possibility of worsening her injuries by running the bend. Go and win gold miss ETH.
