Wait, you only save 7 times in this game? I can see myself now just getting annoyed at the fact hat I have to go to some place and I'm not even close to a save point. It'll be The Escapists all over again.
At the end of the song, it's that much richer and better because you added friends and family to it, each brining something unique to it. And, just like that, it became a song about life itself =)
This is one of my favorite themes. I love how every time you get to meet/befriend a new character they get added to the menu and with them their part of the theme comes along.
+Yonkage every single time you meet someone, if you do the things required for achieving the true pacifist route, they get added on the start menu, triggering a new addition to the music.
I love the detail of this, the more friends you make, the more instruments there are to fill in the empty space in the music, until you end off with an amazing soundtrack.
This gave me an idea: If someone ever tries making an Undertale fangame, like Undertale yellow, please add a function where for every major character that you spare, an instrument gets added to the menu theme.

I don't know about you guys but I find that a little weird like Toby Fox is trying to say something. Please listen to the song "once upon a time" and I think you might hear it in this song and others. I'm not talking about the boss fights, I don't think it's in there.
I don’t know if a lot of people know this, but the soundtrack to this game is almost entirely based on FF tracks from the old FF games, all the way up to FFVII. I don’t think there’s a single full-length track that is 100% original. Although, I actually think that’s a good thing, since the game is so nostalgic in many ways... but I don’t know if Toby Fox did this intentionally. It just shows how difficult it is to be programmer, writer, composer, director... I remember cave story was very similar in this aspect, soundtrack also borrowed.
