I have been listening to music for many decades. This is probably one of the best constructed rock songs that I have ever watched or listened to. Simply amazing. TX Eric, Phil, Greg and Nathan and those others. Super, Super. Old Hippie. Cape Town.
I recall hearing that he is a class act to the hilt and if I were an artist looking for a four string guitarist I would request his musical prowess to be in my co.
Otro grande PHIL COLLINS.
They did call him God I’m the 60’s before Hendrix came out and changed the game. BTW Clapton is my fav guitar player ever and if I could pick one guy to play like that be Eric fuck the haters saying he’s a simple penta player fuck off
Phil Collins said these were some of his favorite performances and said if he could go back in time to play again it would be with Eric, Nathan and Greg.
Absolutely fantastic! These legends are so great that they keep you on your feet all the time and keep every other musical aspect in check while doing so.... Love and reverence!
Everybody gets a 10 here. You really can't get any better than this. My only regret, I wasn't there. Always love seeing Phil on drums. Like pencilskirt95 said thats an awful lot of AAA talent on one little stage.
And P.S. - Just watching Greg Phillinganes and Nathan East dancing around on stage - and REALLY appearing to enjoy what they're doing - makes this version great for me.
I am a chef and have worked several of his shows and had the privilege of meeting him and watching the show from stage left. The best show a person can see.
Can anyone tell Miami Vice was popular at the time? Dig the neon-colored tees and white shoes! I love it. 80's Clapton is awesome Clapton---his collaboration with Phil Collins on Behind the Sun was some of his best work. Thanks for the post!
Why not use the technology. As long as you've got muso's of this calibre to put it use, we the listeners are always gonna be the winners. Fantastic stuff!!
@mkeywork yes, but unfortunately shows like the hogan family (or whatever its called) and jersey shore have taken precedence over clapton........30 years ago we woulda called that comunism
I loved the King Biscuit Hour, used to tune into every Sunday night on the radio, Is there any stations that still carry it?, or even replay the older concerts
The cords are danced. D-A-D-A and A-C-A-C-A Chours rolls through G-F-D then G-F-D-C-A . You can tell how many times to repete cach section by listening to the song. Once you get the hang of it it is easy to see what they are doing. Great song I do in one of my sets. Cheers Bri
I personally like this version. Maybe it's because I heard the song for the first time on MTV in 1986. You remember MTV, don't you? It was a MUSIC station back in the day ...
one of the grooviest live versions of a Clapton song ever. since 1986 to ....2024
I have been listening to music for many decades. This is probably one of the best constructed rock songs that I have ever watched or listened to. Simply amazing. TX Eric, Phil, Greg and Nathan and those others. Super, Super. Old Hippie. Cape Town.
I met Nathan East yesterday ! This guy is not just an awesome singer and bassplayer but he is also the sweetest guy you'll ever meet
I recall hearing that he is a class act to the hilt and if I were an artist looking for a four string guitarist I would request his musical prowess to be in my co.
He plays with everybody. True professional. Jaco was great but Nathan is a true legend.

Only a GREAT guitarist can look as though he's hardly playing that axe! Slowhand is a Guitar God!

It would be so much better without pink shirt-wearing, keytar-playing Greg Phillinganes prancing around the stage.
Mate, that's what makes the video even better!
wish I had friends like that

Phil Collins said these were some of his favorite performances and said if he could go back in time to play again it would be with Eric, Nathan and Greg.

Where's Tina?
It is a happy ballad about grief played by friends who all know how that feels. Classic, just classic.
I am a chef and have worked several of his shows and had the privilege of meeting him and watching the show from stage left. The best show a person can see.
THIS, people, is MUSIC.
they had the groove goin' there, that was awesome!
Can anyone tell Miami Vice was popular at the time? Dig the neon-colored tees and white shoes! I love it. 80's Clapton is awesome Clapton---his collaboration with Phil Collins on Behind the Sun was some of his best work. Thanks for the post!

what instrument is making that wachuck sound all through the song its cool. i don't think its the drummer.
And can anyone tell me where's the syncopated clap beat from - the keytar or was it the drums?
It was the keytar in fact, There's a percussionist playing
@daslatrobe you'd smile too if you got to be in erics band.
Favignana 86 this sound in my summer holidays
not many people can pull off a keytar.
temazo me mola ese piano guitarra, alguien me puede decir como se llama y el ritmo del q lo toca....
I personally like this version. Maybe it's because I heard the song for the first time on MTV in 1986. You remember MTV, don't you? It was a MUSIC station back in the day ...
