No matter how you look at it. BEARD is the definition of integrity. The ones he failed always has a hint of sneaky companies.
I thought the same when they said the chef "accidentally" used a baguette instead of a hot dog bun.
Or the one with 7lbs of meat. I can tell at a GLANCE that's more than seven pounds. Basically some people will hear this guy destroys challenges and "beef" up their challenge.
I think once you come inside with a camera, some restaurants, either they then look him up or know who he is, and want to give a "real" challange. It kinda sucks, cause not only they give the idea of a food challange and restaurants in general a bad name, it also gives that specific restaurant a bad name, so I dont understand why they do it.
@@chinchillatwitch7234 The "real" challenge basically just making an already hard challenge impossible. Like less than 0.1% of the human population could fit 7 pounds of any food in their gut if they had a gun to their head. But these guys decided to make it larger. Scummy.
I mean.... The real issue is that he needs to look good while eating .... If it could really shove food in his mouth, sauce covering his entire face, he could probably win, just by eating fast with no chewing. But then he couldn't make videos about it.

Ya why even do that? In the end they'd rather cheat and not have anyone beat it, than get great publicity by showing someone can and has beat it. Just seems like poor sportsmanship.

Connor's Cafe sandwich - this was another one where they seriously inflated the size of the meal because it was Adam. That's also why it's typically £12, because it's normally not so big.

The Hard Rock Hotel challenge is one of the only times I've seen him rattled. They must have really annoyed him as he is usually so calm and polite.

I have a feeling that alot of these places cheat and make his food larger. But food challeneges with short time limits are the worst.
I'm sure a lot of the owners of these shops that offer these challenges want their ego fed, so they make the challenges literally impossible on purpose. A good challenge should be incredibly difficult, but it should sound doable, even though 99% of the people won't complete it. You get way more money in that regard as more people are going to try and finish it. What sounds better, "We've had 800 people try this challenge but only 1 or 2 have completed it", or "We've had 10 people try this challenge but no one has completed it". 30 sausages plus a ton of mashed potatoes and a whole cauliflower in 20 minutes? I can guarantee you not many people are going to even attempt that--the fact that BMF immediately knew it was bullshit based on his response kind'a makes it obvious. An hour time limit? Well, WAAAAY more people will more than likely attempt it, and I guarantee you they'll make way more money on it too, even though they may get a couple completions.
@@cheezitza9639 I think something like 90% completion rate would be reasonable. Then just up the price by 20% over what would normally be charged. Make it hard, but not impossible and get the non-completing people to pay for winners.

100% I mean he’s one of they few people around that can obviously take out 90% of the challenges he comes across, as soon as he walks in the door they 100% up the quantity in anyway possible
Some of those time limits are ridiculously short. There has to be a realistic time to ingest the food. Those 20 min challenges are usually from places that dont want you to win ever. Its like a carnival game
The way it should work is no time limit until someone completes it in one sitting and that's the time limit for future people doing it
Can we just appreciate how well he's able to take care of himself while eating these ridiculous portions? It's so refreshing to see an eating channel that is able to balance food reviewing and self-care. So happy for the guy and how well he's doing.
Dude's probaby got a tapeworm. Legend has it that he never gets full, just that his jaws get tired from chewing.
As Beard himself says, he only eats like this once a week, while keeping himself active and eating healthy for the remainder of that. He's not worried about his health because he's a genuinly healthy person when not on camera, which is most of the time.
You should see some of the asian speed eaters,there used to be a female hot dog winner and she was 5 foot tall and weighed about 90 pounds

I've worked for many restaurants and i can CONFIDENTLY say it is ALWAYS on purpose they never do it accidentally. I had worked for 2 restaurants that had food challenges one was a burger challenge and the other a pancake challenge and when a "professional" eater came in my manager would tell me add way more fries or sides or stuff a lot more fillings on the burger. And the pancake challenge there is a whole different recipe i had to use that makes the cakes WAY thicker and basically impossible. I quit both jobs after i saw they were just out for money and don't care about having an honest workplace environment. It is sadly very common for restaurants to upsize or flat out change the recipe of the challenge so they can keep the "undefeated" title.
Most of the ones he failed are because the restaurant gives him more food than what is normal on the challenge. It's funny because Beard has called a few out on it, and it's obvious from pictures. I don't get it because it only hurts that restaurant by being dishonest. Even the viewers can tell when something is up.
The ramen one he made a strategic error: drinking water with spicy food makes it worse. He should’ve drunk milk instead.

The restaurants should have to weigh their meals in front of the contestants so that is fair. Also he should be allowed to wait until the food is cooled down to an acceptable temp. It’s not a temperature challenge, it’s a can he eat the whole thing in the amount of time challenge.

I think it is a legitimate problem that restaurant owners do load up more food than usual when they know Beard is coming. Which really isn't fair. It is awesome that he usually beats the challenge, anyway.

I remember going to a Hard Rock Cafe years ago for a friends birthday party, and the kids dad getting into a blazing row with the staff because all the cokes they brought to the table were filled to the brim with ice, meaning you finished them in like three or four sips, and they refused to serve them any differently, charging full price for each one. The burger patties were like hockey pucks too, just hard and salty. They are one of the original rip off chains, and it doesn't surprise me that they're still up to their dirty tricks today.
Yeah. I went to the Hard Rock in New York. Most mediocre food (I believe I had a cheeseburger and I am certain any food truck in the area would have served me a better one) I've ever had from a restaurant.

This combined with his humble and respectful behavior makes him a honorable man, and a legend if your description makes him fit in. And mukbangers like him are often highly recognized, just look at Matt Stonie's reputation. It's not only difficult to eat those meals but it also requires a lot of training and preparation. He doesn't just go to a restaurant like that, he takes care of his health and is most probably not eating for a few days prior to those challenges.

I love Adam because he actually posts his losses. I watch a few other eating channels and they always seem to win. When asking them if they ever lose they never reply. sometimes the restaurant clearly adds more to beards plate than they did to other challengers. with some losses even causing the restaurant a extremely bad rep because everyone noticed.

I like how BeardMeatsFood doesn't have scripted videos that he's destined to win, or make it into some kind of redemption ark halfway through in which he tries again and succeeds. It's one attempt, win or lose. And I'd say 14 failures out of 590 is really impressive.

No matter how many challenges he has lost, there is no doubt that he completed many other challenges and hade through them quite far. He is a monster whose victories are something no ordinary person could achieve and he deserves his fame for that reason.

Eddie doesn't eat fast and slows down after 10-15 minutes which is normal. I've watched quite a lot of Eddie's eating videos and even when he swapped plates with his wife, he didn't beat her by that much time and she had 4x the portion size. Beard has talked about it a bunch on podcasts, people don't see the other side, the fasting and water consumption to stretch the stomach beforehand. The top competitive eaters in the world are much smaller than you would expect.

This addresses come of the very questions I had myself. I'm not surprised to learn some of the restaurants, upon realizing who is undertaking the challenge, will make the challenge even harder by either adding more food than what's in the original challenge, or substitute certain things such as replacing the hot dog bun with a baguette, which is extremely unfair. Beard has a good attitude and I always root for him to win so it kind of upsets when places do such things to him.

Been following this guy for a long time and I'm pretty sure that most of the challenge he failed have the portion upgraded just for him. He usually contacted the restaurant before to let them know that he's filming there.

@@Sankuneefle it's not that bad considering 80% of the weight of it is the broth, 8 minutes is rough but not ridiculous.
@@electrictutorial1 it's 100% ridiculous, it's 4,000,000 scoville and no the noodles were also heavy not just the broth. 8 minutes to eat something like that is a total scam

Add the fact it's served nearly boiling to make it impossible. Matt Stonie completed a similar one that had a 30 min time limit and was nowhere near as hot but still took double that time.

As someone who's going back on a diet, this guy's videos make me hungry just watching them. But damn, they are addictive. Just seeing someone eat this much is very impressive. I'd most definitely vomit after finishing just half that pudding burger.
