@@wc7 It's a different situation. I have multiple find and change columns in one csv. So instead of copy and pasting all the changes into one columnIs there a way for it to do multiple columns?
@@rickhodesigns The script works with standard properly formatted spreadsheet data, meaning columns are categories (find, change) and rows are records (things to find/change). If your data is records in columns instead of rows as they should be, use a CSV transpose tool to swap the columns and rows. For example www.convertcsv.com/transpose-csv.htm
@@wc7 I posted a reply with a link to a .png file to show you the example. Looks like youtube may have blocked it. I'll send you a message via your website.
I have on my list of new scripts to create a variation of this one that also finds and changes character and paragraph styles at the same time. Still in the works. I will post back when I have something.
The script "Find Change From Spreadsheet" now combines Text and GREP, and adds find/change character and paragraph styles. www.marspremedia.com/software/indesign/find-change-from-spreadsheet
I'm not familiar with the term "loopback". Do you mean "look behind" perhaps? Does the InDesign Find/Change dialog accept the pattern and make the correct replacement? The script uses the GREP capability of InDesign. If InDesign can do it, the script should be able to also. If not, the script can't either.
@@superspiegi7098 Yes I can confirm the script fails on a look behind. It will fail on a look ahead as well. It has to do with how the confirmation feature is handled. I'll need to rework it some. Whether these kind of patterns can work with confirmation is still questionable. The path of least resistance might be limit look behind/ahead to when confirmation is disabled. I will be working on it and post back when I have an update to try.
@@superspiegi7098 Turns out it was not too difficult to work around. And it works with or without confirmation enabled. Hello@@wc7 - I have tried it again, but I am very sorry to say, that it is still not perfect ;-) and I don't want to bother you!! New as of version 2.1, thanks to user feedback the script now has the option to ignore hidden layers.
Hi William,
Love the script, I'm able to do the change one by one for each column. Is there a way to do, let's say, 10 columns at once?
If I understand correctly, uncheck 'confirm each change' should do what you're asking. If I've misunderstood, explain further.

Hello! The script does not work with "positive lookback"... --> it wants to replace the find patern with the find patern...
