Thanks for all the help and tips...
Right on, best wishes! Sounds like this is all old news to u, but thanks for watching!
I also recommend trying the STIC Super X 38/40 carb. It provides substantial low end grunt, but it also adds a few HP 1300 RPM before stock peak HP and a couple HP 750 RPM after the peak. 3rd gear inclines at 1700 RPM and the throttle can be ham fisted without any clutching. No loss in power going 2 teeth off the rear sprocket and going to a taller tire! Small bore magic.
That sounds magical! what year YZ125 do u have?
@@RyderSigety I have assisted a couple 125X and 250SX riders with tuning. My 200SX X carb swapped over to a 125SX and only needed a richer 6.5 slide.
@@ottokirk2325 wow how did that work out?
@@RyderSigety The 125SX kid plans to get the X carb. He's run it for 3 weeks now. He really likes how it pulls out of slower rutted turns. Uses the clutch less and gets on the power quicker.
Appreciate the tips. I picked up a 24 YZ125 about a month ago the motor pulls so hard up top. All I've done so far is a new set of bars, rad braces, and a skid plate. After this season I'm going to get an apex head. Still need to mount a 50 tooth on the rear the gearing seems quite wide even on an MX track.
Congrats! Your going to love it!
awesome vid, youve earned another subscriber
Awesome, thank you!
Great video that many of us have been looking for, thank you!
Glad you liked it Tom, working on our next one as we speak
Awesome video with loads of great content and information 💪🏻👍🏻🇬🇧
Glad u liked it Bret!
This awesome! I struggle with the front axle on the TM and I think they are binding since last tire change. Sorry again about the confusion at the check yesterday. Great see you guys!
No worries! Great day yesterday! THanks for all that u do. hope to ride with u sometime
Good video guys, very helpful tips for seasoned riders and especially new ones, great job!! Sure, wish we had these bikes when I was young. Dale
yeah the bikes have come a long way, thanks for the comment!
I am way slower than your kid, so my jetting is a bit different. I found the midrange to very rich on my 24' YZ125X, so I bought and measured a few different needles. The Suzuki NExx series of needles is leaner at 1/2-3/4 throttle, so I use a NECW needle with a 52 pilot and 172 main. I do a lot of trail riding with the gf, and this jetting is a happy middle ground for my c/slow b class race pace and trail riding with her.
Great video with lot's of info. Thanks for putting in the time.
Thats great u get to ride with your GF and thanks for sharing and commenting and nice words!
The one radiator cover product looks like the fiber mesh used by stucco installers as a reinforcement. Not sure what they call it. I use the gutter-guard plastic mesh. Important to leave some pouching of the material during install so the material can flex which helps shake off mud and grass. I also leave a small bit of it loose at the bottom for the same reasons.
Great advice, I didn't think I would actually learn by sharing info, but what you say makes sense, thanks!
Nice, video with some great setup tips for the Yamaha's.
FWIW, I spent a bunch of time jetting a friend's 23' YZ125 last year. The biggest problem with the Keihin carb on that bike, is the slide. They are trying to share the carb with the 250, but the slide is just too lean to be effectively used in the 125. Once you put in a richer slide, I was going back and forth between a 5.5 and a 6.0 slide, Ideally, I would just cut a 5.5 into a 5.75 and be done with it. It really opens up your jetting options. On another note, Those bikes are very sensitive to altitude, so you're looking at dropping the main jet probably 2 sizes for Snowshoe (as your jetting stands now) The pilot and needle should be good though.
Wow, sounds like you know your bikes!
@@RyderSigety Hello Ryder, I will use your code to get a couple of GUTs seats. Thank you. As Michael mentioned , try the richer 6 slide and a CCL needle. Curious what you think vs JDs kit. It has by far improved jetting over anything I have tried. I have the GYTR(Y4) kit, but have not tried the JD kit. ua-cam.com/video/TDFGvutDjwo/v-deo.html
Finally, I have been waiting for this video!
Thats awesome! Anything help?
@RyderSigety the Sud frame mod and the guts seat. I was looking for ways to lower the seat height. and some of the jd jetting. I haven't gotten it right since it warmed up. Thank you so much!!
@@noahbanewicz8287 u will be good now!!
It would be nice if you could measure diameter and taper starting position of jdkit needles
Interesting
Mentioned yamaha NYCH diameter is 2,72. Same diameter needle from ktm is NOZH. But the taper position of this two are different, yamaha needle is more lean. So it would great to compare them to jdkit blue needle
Great video.....We wanna know about the Y4 needle!!! ;)
Yessssss!
We talked on FB in a yz 125 group. I never tried anything but the GYTR kit from Great Britain. It really helped, but that, the VHM head and Get ignition made it my Go To bike. My 250's and 450's here at Club sit. It's by far the most fun bike to ride! The kids here at Club have rode it. So much better than the new FI Austrian bikes, or so the kids say when they try it.
Don't know how your video showed up, but I liked some of your tips. Think my wife's 125 is going to get that sub frame mode. Looks like the OLD JGR subframe trick
Nice video ❤❤
Sooooon! And thanks!
@@greg042thanks! Yes that's exactly like jgr mod, you know your stuff. We are hoping to get a complete gytr kit from Yamaha, I'd be very curious as to your detailed report on the entire kit.
Thanks for the tips. Are the DT1 air filters available for Beta’s? I looked on there website and can’t tell
i just checked and yes! GO here mxfilters.com/BETA-Air-Filter-_p_99.html
Great video guys!!!
Thanks so much Sergio!
Where can i get the subframe mod done at and what parts to get can u send me links brother
Look my dad up on Instagram and he can better answer that for you.
If, after getting the factory keihin dialed in and you find your chasing more power out of your 125, I recommend a Stic Super X carb by Stic Super Torque. On my 23 yz125x, the impressive broad and wide power gains from bottom to top from the X carb alone was more noticeable and eye opening than my other bolt on mods; cylinder head, cdi, pipe. Some riders that I offered test rides to say, is it a 150?
With the X carb at 1/4 throttle, it's almost as powerful as my factory dialed in keihin was at full throttle!
The new Stic Super X carb provides a significantly wider power curve and power increase compared to the Stic metering block insert. This is mainly due to an additional air correction jet in the intake bellow area; additional passages in the jet block, and tube to create pressurisation and presure drops at the entry, middle, and exit area of the jet tube. This creates a shearing action within the jet tube itself to create superior fuel atomisation. The pilot circuit is sealed off from the float bowl! Below intermediate engine speeds it function as a normal pilot jet. However, from intermediate engine speeds and above, it reverses flow and feeds the main jet extra fuel vapour and air, creating an endless top end pull with fantasic over rev characteristics. The Super X is at home on an MX track or slow technical single track. Due to the fantasic fuel atomisation and various sensing passages in the jet block it is very stable with temp or elevation swings with only a tweak of the airscrew ever needed.
A little over my head but really good detailed info to show my dad!! I googled it and see its for sale at a few places on the internet, do u know the web address of the manufacturer?
If ya don't race...keep'm stock and just jet them to suite
Stock is safe, less chance of DNF and incompatibility .....but the jetting is really not acceptable to me racing or just riding. Thanks for the comment
Man that's some good info on this video!! Sold me on a few of these products!! Looks like the mika and dt air filters codes are expired just fyi
Glad I could help! i just contacted Mika and DT-1 to see whats up with thier codes and they said they should be good by end of the day, ill let u know
@@RyderSigety works now!! Just ordered some stuff and made sure to mention your name !!
@@barkeep25wow thanks!
@RyderSigety no problem, do you happen to know the brand of that chain guide gaurd? I can't seem to find it.
Bullitt proof designs makes a very good one, the one in the video is by a company called nice cnc, someone else has the same question I'm working off a phone so I can't find it exactly right now but it's in the comments here with a link @barkeep25
oh boy there's a brand new 250 thumper sitting in the driveway!!! I'm betting you will like it for 1-2 races and then the 2 stroke will come back out of the truck
idk why, but i love all the bLU bikes when i ride them.. Thanks for the comment Peter
@@RyderSigety like your Dad said, they are the best bike for what you guys are doing.
@@peterstebbins1815 Thanks, ill let him know u agree
Any issues using the Cycra handguards with the Mika Metals handlebars? I was looking get a new set of Cycra CRM probend guards and Mika oversize bars.
Some of the Mika bars have an oversized bar that can be a problem with some hand guard mounts but i cant say for sure which ones, so sorry.
Do you have a discount code for Cycra?
so sorry, that's one company we do not have a discount code for.
Do the NYCH needle work with a 52 and 175 main ? For a aggressive rider
yes that will be fine, but after the bike is warmed up, quickly snap the throttle, if u get a bog, try adjusting the air screw, if u still get a bog, try the 55 pilot. let me know how it goes!
Okay thanks and my bike is all stock but the stock jetting is bad and last thing clip goes on 3 right and would that needle work with the stock jets 75 and 160 main ?
How you set the air screw on it ?

@@RyderSigety Thank you!
The Boyesen reeds and Apex head did heaps for my yz125 been looking at a vortex or GET cdi have you guys took the time to check either out or plan to buy one or keeping the cdi stock?
for the moment, we are keeping the CDI stock. We hope to get a GYTR kit and that includes an ignition
@@RyderSigety looking forward to the review on it! I snagged a set of wheel worx wheels your guys code came in handy much appreciation.
@@Jenks223 congrats, u will love them, or should i say, they will work the way a good wheel should!
what is the tape you use on the levers? Is it tacky?
any tack tape
Got the y4 needle coming this week. Pro circuit called me yesterday and finally got them in. The carb in my son’s 23 came with the mid block gasket leaking air and no oring on the air screw 🤦♂️. It was leaking air everywhere. I tried the jd kit but was way to lean for me it was just bogging to death off the bottom. Could have been the air leaks but jd was no help and said I was doing something wrong so I sent it back. I will be trying the y4 with pro circuits jetting specs once the needle comes.
Sounds like u do a lot of testing too. My dad said he read about someone with a bad carb on fb, maybe that was u? Please report back here with ur Y4 testing. thanks!
@@RyderSigety as soon as it comes. Jetting on the bike was miserable, I tried slides needles everything. They say the y4 is cure all we will see. 🤘
Good luck!
Sounds like my sons 23 125x. Tried stock needles and jetting which was too rich. Tried every combination of jd jetting and it was too lean on the bottom, and had a bad bog even with a 55 pilot and clip 4 on the blue needle. Put and apex head on it and it helped alittle bit. Finally got ahold of the y4 needle with a 62 pilot and 175 main and it's night and day on the bottom and I can finally tune the air screw out more than half a turn. Currently at 1.5 turns out. Jd jetting told me basically the same thing.
@@onebigchevy16 SOunds like u really know what ur doing, sorry i couldnt help much with the X model
what abt an 85
WOW we really should have done that when we had a slew of them. I wonder if we can borrow a bike and go over a list...
Where is the option to add and send tips?
Right here.
The Alco discount code is invalid. Do you have an updated code?
dammm ur right! I just texted Alco, let u know when its corrected, sorry Aaron
