Winter is upon us on the South Coast, right before the snowpocalypse arrived in late December, I managed to make it out to one of my favourite ice caves - The Katla Ice Cave.
I’ve featured this in two previous videos and now we finally have a new section open to explore. You cannot afford to miss this episode!

I am going to be in Iceland this summer 2023. Is this new section expected to be available?
I really hope so! It has been exceptionally cold this winter so all going well it should still exist, albeit in a slightly different state.
@@VividIceland Thank you! I only ask because it looks like the "old site" that you have to pass, I wonder how stable it will be come summer to get to the new site. Do you provide excursions to this Ice Cave as well? I don't think I see it on your website.
@@lordpuppyrd7989 Currently I don't offer it but I'm definitely looking into it for the summer time. Unfortunately now in the winter with the amount of snow that we have it's impossible for my 4x4 to reach the cave. Certainly get in touch closer to you holiday this summer and I can update you on the conditions in the area and if we can get there in my 4x4!

No, I think you'll be fine honestly. The guides are there to help you out, and there are plenty of ropes and other safety features on the tours.
