When octopus eggs hatch usually the casing is still left behind. If it’s completely gone then the live shrimp could’ve actually eaten the eggs. Also check inside the filtration of the tank to be sure.
Just wondering if taking the rocks out of the water, rolling them all around while shining a bright light on them, putting them back in the tank in diff places might would stress the crap out of mom and babies? Stress on anything is never good.
Thanks so much for posting an update, really is an amazing process you have shared with us! Really hope that Momma and the babies come out and you get to see them!!
Try to not allow your rocks to be out of the water for that long. Keep water in the foam box while looking. This will keep your octopussies healthy. I know it seems like they weren't out of the water for very long, but it is destructive try to do your work in tank or in a saltwater filled box. Good video buddy
My 10 year old son is obsessed with this channel. We love watching the videos every morning before school! He has 3 fishtanks with his dad already but think he's aspiring for bigger and better now!
Thats nutts im gonna try to breed my coral cat shark if im lucky im going to upload the video i only have 1 shark on my channel right now bur soon im getting another

Oh wow! Super exciting! I can't wait to see if you have a bunch of baby octopi 😁 Also your chickens are adorable, you can train them with food to follow and learnt their names! They're crazy smart for also being kinda dumb 😂 but super cute
The life cycle of an octopus has four stages- egg, larva, juvenile, and adult. It is a unique under-sea life cycle where the male dies within a few months of mating and the female dies soon after hatching of the eggs.
Him: "Can you hear that?" Me: Strains ears and hears only annoying background music In spite of that, I wish you the best of luck with these babies. Thanks for the update!
If they did hatch and the shrimp didn't eat them, is it really a good idea to remove everything and disturb them? Or worse - injure or squish them? Anyway, hope they turn up.
41 comment awesome video today Nick congratulations on your pet octopus laying eggs and having babies and keep up the great work you are the best and the greatest 💪👍💯💯👍👍💪💪💪👍👍👍💪
I had 2 🐣 crazy crazy personalities I live in Oshawa Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 got them sweaters in winter they stayed outside all had a beautiful warm house at nice at nite loved them named them Betty and white
Once the momma octopus lays her eggs they find a hiding spot in a rock and passes away. So when you found the mom she wasn't alive she was either passing away or already dead
I love chickens, I also have a very friendly and cuddly chicken called Soda. They are the most misunderstood animals, they have amazing personalities and even remember peoples faces.
This is amazing I keep loving your videos more and more and I am thinking of starting my own aquarium and you are great with teaching things like this keep it up👍👍✌️😎
OMG buddy watch PAUL CUFFARO IF U WANT TO LEARN ABOUT FISH AND TANKS Nicks a good guy and all BUT he doesn't take PRECAUTIONS like he should, and we are talking INPORTANT PRECAUTIONS!!!! Like I said Nickie is a great guy and does know a lot but, he tends to get ahead of himself and not do what needs to be done for EXAMPLE, RARELY DOES HE QUARANTINE NEW FISH and worst of all,,, a lot of the fish he catches from the wild. More then ever wild fish have the BIGGEST contamination of anything u will get in a pet store and pet stores have a huge disease rate that's why it's so INPORTANT TO ALWAYS ALWAYS QUARANTINE ALL NEW FISH ALWAYSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! I can't push that on to you ENOUGH!!! If u have been watching Nick's channel for a while u can see just how bad he is about doing what he needs to be doing. Many of his well lets say rehomed fish he has given to others and said he would give us update's on,,, well lmao seems many if not all of those so called rehomed fish have disappeared hmmmmm. well someone spilled the proverbial drink and those fish had died. So the bottom line is JUST BECAREFUL fish are FRAGILE and some can be very EXSPENCIVE. If u want to START OFF RIGHT I HIGHLY RECOMAND PAUL. U can also email him and he will help u out that way also, well my friend good luck and have fun.
Hello Nick, generally when a female octopus lays eggs she stays there and she stops eating and within a few weeks I hate to say this but generally the mother passes away when the eggs hatch. The babies are so tiny you may not be able to see them.
I think I seen a documentary that said, An octopus will die after it lays and hatches eggs. She will remove unfertilized eggs. But if they are fertile, she will stop eating and guard the eggs with her life. Once they hatch she dies. Also it takes them a long time to mature to an age to be able to have live eggs. Good luck Nick.
Hello, pretty cool videos. I was also wondering what kind of sneakers are those at the end when you are with your pretty cool chickens....and they kinda almost look like they resemble a smaller cousin of the Asian chicken with big fat red legs..., just saying
My suggestion is if you cannot find them in the next 2 or 3 days you crack open that rock and get them out cause they're probably stuck and can't find their way out. Other than that everything looks awesome
A baby octopus is transparent with only a few color changing chromatophores. They are really hard to see as they also can hide very well and are super small with stubs for tentacles.
Any updates yet? It’s been seven days, I don’t think I can wait a few months. Also to the ones saying the shrimp may have ate the eggs (which I know is possible), but is it possible they ate allllll the eggs?

This is exactly what i thought. The shrimp 100x the size of the eggs
so shrimp ate them all ?
@@TheDrakulie possibly he had some shrimp for mama octopus and maybe the shrimp found the eggs and ate some of them.
wouldn't the baby octopuses also eat the egg casings too?
@@WindierStorm yes, once born the baby octopus will leave it as a snack.
Put the moon light on and look at the rocks in the glow at night, you will be amazed at what comes out ! I had a Teddy Crab came out everynight !
Yeah that's right I did that too

Holy hatching octopus 🐙 eggs, Nick! We hope you get a bunch of little eight-leggers 😀
Nick: let’s take a look at the rock the eggs hatched in, wait hear that noise? Octopus: thanks for the free ride in a box but I need water

The shrimp you put In the tank for mama to eat ended up eating the eggs most likely.
Thats nutts im gonna try to breed my coral cat shark if im lucky im going to upload the video i only have 1 shark on my channel right now bur soon im getting another
I never thought I would be so invested in baby Octopus 🐙 but I can’t wait till we can see them (hopefully)
I think shrimp may eat octopus eggs or baby octopus, but I don't think those few shrimp could wipe them all out. I think you'll see them eventually.
Congratulations Nick!!!
Please take the live shrimp out, they may have eaten the eggs or some of the babies.

i hate the word octopi lolz xD
i love your videos!!
Hope they hatch out for you. That would be pretty epic to have baby octopus.
An entire clutch hatching in a couple of hours is a very common thing for wild egg layers. Just not common for birds for some strange reason.
Keep up the great videos nick

He knows, it was in his last video and a few biologists told him.
@@bernardoknox7273 it's a chance the shrimp ate the eggs 🥚 so mama will eventually pass away and it will become a shrimp tank if they ate the babies
The mom octopus was found in the rock...... we never got update about the babies or mom
Wouldn't the shrimp eat the eggs or the baby's?
Wow cool chickens I have 13 of them 6 gold ones 2 black ones and 5 white ones
Cute Chickens but watch for Hawks.
Hope you find the babies.
octopi are really cool. i wish i had one- if i had a saltwater tank, of course.
What if the Shrimp ate them
Octopi can squeeze into very small spaces so i would check w/e filter you may have on the tank for them
baby octo pi would normally stay at the same place as they were hatched at and they would stay together
Did the shrimp eat the babies?
The mama octupos will sacrifice her life for her children to eat
The moment I saw the shrimp I alive I feel sad. Good job.
Got the NY V. NY Dunk lows on… i respect the hell out of that 🤝

What a tiny tank for such an intelligent animal, must be mind numbing for this one and others that are kept like this

Nick, the shrimp ate the eggs
Hi Nick 👋
"They’re very smart creatures…” proceeds to have them in the smallest fish tank 🙄
I just got me pet fish to days ago however one died the same day i got them so now i got three neon tetra and a blue snail
Congrats..😂

I might be to late but if you remove the mother before the baby’s are one week old she has a better chance of surviving.
My cousin breads octopus he said 75% still survive if you don’t bread them agin and you might have to kind of force feed her
I hope the mum survives with her babies 🤞
Omg
Hi nick my name is arinita i had watch your all video that you had posted i really love all those video. and i am from india city kolkata . ❤❤❤🥰
