I'm Granny Quilter at Silver Dollar City, in Branson, Missouri. Thanks for coming by the shop and making such a cute little video. Hope you had fun, it was a great day! Check out The Fashion Merchant and Bittersweet Quilts in Joplin. Two more wonderful quilt shops with over 2000 bolts of gorgeous fabric.
Ha, you even got the quilt saturation line into the video. Nice!
Such a cute shop! And i love your stories! I'm a quilter too ❤️
Beautiful stories, Granny Quilter! What a blessing to be back at Miss Kate’s 💖‼️thank you for sharing!
Meeting you was such a blessing to us. Thanks for sharing your stories and love of quilting. We will definitely look up those shops the next time we are in the Joplin area. Thanks for the suggestions and for being you. :)
May I ask what is the designer’s name/pattern information for the “winds day” quilt that was initially asked about? I had a hard time seeing the label in the package from the video. It is beautiful!
Thank you Shalane & Dean . I love traveling all over while not leaving my house. . Be safe 🌹
We love having you join us each episode. Thanks again!
Thank you for this wonderful video. What a cute store, And that fabric is like eye candy for me. I need to put Branson, Mo on my bucket list.

You should! Even if the snow is flying, the Christmas lights display would be a great time to see Silver Dollar City in November and December. ;) Thanks for watching!
Amazing Video! My Granny & Grandma were both Quilters! I made a Quilt on their Treddle Machine at 9 Years Old! This Video brings back some Wonderful Memories! 🥰 Thank You for Sharing! 👍😍👏

Now, I must say, there is never an ugly quilt... ;-) I am fortunate to have a couple of quilted eyeglass holders that my mother had...a great keepsake! Love the dedication of quilters for sure! Continue to take great care and hope you are looking forward to a wonderful weekend! Bruce and Otis
We had a wonderful weekend with family. :) Yes, I agree. There is no such thing as an ugly quilt. Thanks again for your loyal support. :)

She is a very talented quilter. :) Thanks so much for watching!
Another beautiful sweet quilt shop . ♥️
Thank you! 😊
What a fabulous little town to visit. The quilt shop was adorable. X❤️🌺
We think so too! The little town of Silver Dollar City is actually an amusement park with a 1880's theme. We love going there. Thanks again for watching!

Wow, I never knew there was a quilt shop there, either.
We will be back now that we know it is there. Thanks again for watching!
We have never actually made it to Branson yet, been close but not yet. Probably need to do that some day.
You should give Branson a try. It has a little something for everybody. Even pickleball - Indoor open play for Pickleball is offered at the Branson RecPlex. ;) Thanks for watching!
❤
Thanks Robin!!!
I wanted to learn how to make patchwork quilts as long as I can remember. Our mother did NOT want my sister and I to become patchwork quilters; so, we both did. Thank you for this video. I did not know there was a quilt shop at Silver Dollar City.
The dress that Granny Quilter is wearing, in the video, looks very modest and comfortable (like the dresses older women wore when I was a child here in Rowan County, Kentucky). I would like to buy a pattern to make myself a dress something like Granny Quilter's. Todays clothes are not modest or comfortable. My mother wanted dresses like Granny Quilter's (before she died back in 2010). Mother was 92 years old when she passed.
Silver Dollar City is a 1880's theme amusement park. We love that all the employees work in period costume. I'll bet there are many great patchwork quilt stories out there. Thanks for watching!
If you ever travel to Texas you need to visit Stitchen Heaven in Quitman Texas.. It is Hugh. Also in Waco Texas there is a Heritage Quilt Barn which is in Homestead Heritage a Craft Village.
We often travel to TX. These look like the kind of stores that we love to visit. Thanks for the suggestions. :) Also, thanks so much for following our channel. :)
How funny, Donna! Just this morning I was looking at Stitchin’ Heaven’s website and fantasizing about one day being brave enough to start on the Texas Our Texas BOM quilt that I bought WAAAAAAYYY back in 2009. I’ve had that one and The Farmer’s Wife fabric stored safely away for all these years because I’m a big ol’ chicken about messing up the fabric. 🤦🏽♀️ A family friend recently gifted me the 1950 Singer 201-2 in a bentwood case that belonged to his mother along with a ton of quilting fabric, notions, and her yarn stash. I haven’t sewn in years, but that beautiful “new” machine has made me want to get back to it. I’m not too far from Quitman, but I’ve never been able to go to Stichin’ Heaven. I’ve bought a lot from them online, and the ladies I’ve spoken with on the phone were always super nice & helpful.
@@OG_Beckie_Leigh I am about 1 1/2 hours away from them. I went out there about 2 months ago and there was so much to look at I could not make up my mind what to get. If you ever want to go there holler at me and I will be happy to come and look around.
@@donnabowen7318 Awesome! That would be great. I'll remember to look you up. For some unknown reason your name seems familiar to me, so I know I'll remember it. I'm a bit absent minded today, so we very well may know each other in real life & it just isn't clicking with me. 😂😂😂
I was curious about the down up down up down up backstitch. Was this used to do hand quilting? I'm curious also because i have a sandwiched quilt ready to quilt that is too big for my home machine and maybe this sort of stitching would work for a simple quilting to hold it together?
I wish I could visit this shop! To me it's like a candy shop, everything looks so scrumptious.
Polly, hand quilting.
It is in what is probably the most famous amusement park in the Midwest. Many people travel to Branson, MO just to go there. Hopefully someday you will be able to go. :) Thanks for watching!
I spent about 10 hours quilting 2 table runners - can’t sell them for $15 each!! People want mass production and cheap labor! The fabric alone was at least $15!!
Sadly, I do think that you are correct. The biggest problem we have with mass produced quilts is that it has no story to tell. Thanks again for watching. :)
Should be a picture of that quilt with the story displayed on the wall. I would of loved to see that quilt.
Now that is a great idea!!! The next time we go to the shop, we will tell Elizabeth that suggestion. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. :)
About the cost of making a quilt, fabric is expensive.
Yes, and keeps going up !
Quilters are responsible for reviving the fabric industry as folks stopped sewing their own clothing when the fashion industry started importing the mass produced inexpensive clothing.
I love fabric, we quilters can never have too much, lol.
Yes, it is. It helps to know that "Granny Quilter" got around the expensive fabric by using her grandma's old robe as fabric. :) Thanks for watching!
