Probably lots of people will disagree with me, but I won't buy a guitar if it's not pretty. I need to love everything about it if I'm dropping a grand on this puppy. I only have two electrics and an acoustic. This is absolutely beautiful. Also, sounds great, which wowed me so much that I couldn't walk out of guitar center without it haha. I'm just not willing to drop nearly 3 grand on a better model Gibson, so this is likely where I'll stay.
@@brockhoward2491 yea, if you don't like them definitely do that and it still keeps you just over a thousand. I'm happy with the pickups, maybe I'll upgrade one day, but they do sound great.
Great video btw! I played one of them in a guitar store some weeks ago. And I was amazed how good a 'chinese handmade' Epiphone is nowadays compared to a 2k Gibson. I am a PRS Singlecut guy, but always wanted a Les Paul since I started playing. So, yesterday I ordered one of these Epiphones in Anaconda Style. Think it's a really great guitar in that price range. Think I'll swap the Pickups. That's the only point. Maybe a little setup. But that's so much Les Paul for less than 1000€. Way better than lots of Gibsons I played before.. Grab one if you can Dudes 🤟
Great video and as always, excellent playing!! I am saving up for the November Gibson.... I know it's a lot more but when I tried one I fell in love. The tone, the feel... everything about it just enchanted me! I also tried the Epiphone and while it was very nice, my heart was on the Gibson. The funny thing is, I'm not a big Slash or GnR fan, but the top of the November reminds a lot of the 2008 Slash Les Paul release.
I've only bought and played Stratocasters, so I was really aiming to come out of that shell a little. I went in our local guitar store thinking I'd land on a Telecaster, but definitely wanted to try the Epiphone Les Paul. I was shocked at how great this thing felt, and playing it was a joy. I tried 2 other Telecasters and one other Epiphone Les Paul, but the Slash model came home with me. SO happy for a new sound in the house :)
I’m backtracking here as i tried a Victoria ( second hand ) the other day and doing some research. The only elephant in the custard here is the lack of Gibson /Slash pickups a la Firebird . I’ve played one and the pickups are phenomenal but the neck is a bit chunky for me -the one on the Victoria seems from memory slightly easier to play . Incredible demo here Jack !!! Bit of a loss at Peach Towers !!
The new Slash Gibson's have Gibson pickups in, not Seymour Duncan. The pickups on these aren't Gibson, they are Epiphone's. Epiphone is owned by GIbson but is not Gibson. Just a Friendly correction. Others have more than likely pointed that out. Apologies if that's the case..
That’s the best Epiphone I’ve ever heard. It stands on its own. No need for a Gibson. If you’ve got a great Marshall, you’re all set. Maybe the one upgrade you could do is upgrade to Duncan’s, but damn, there’s nothing wrong with those Probuckers from what I can tell.
These pickups are top notch when playing clean. Same as any Gibson or Seymour out there. When you put some dirt on them they get a touch muddy. It was a shame cause I swapped them out for that reason for Burstbuckers I had. This guitar would be perfect if it came with Slash pickups
I just got one. If you compare it to a Gibson it's a little thinner (I'm doing the blindfolded sound test this weekend), but yea, Seymour Duncan makes a dedicated slash pickup for like $200 ($250 if covered). I've only had it for a few days, but I don't see a reason to upgrade to a Gibson after this unless you're recording platinum records and that tiny but of difference matters. Or if you're playing live and the shape of the headstock matters. The back of the headstock has a skully drawing on it btw.
