- Come thrift #shopping with me, Ph.D. Antiques Appraiser Dr. Lori, as I find plates, platters, porcelain, a piece that is a little gross at a #shop in Orlando, Florida. #watch me show you the marks for Main Stays, Bavarian, Westwood and Czech pieces so you know what to buy and what to leave behind during your next thrifting trip. Great for estate cleanouts too! Plus, I find an unusual hand painted platter, a desirable mid-century modern dish and a transferware piece.
I left the treasures there for you! Take a trip to Orlando, FL.

Hi dr Lori always love coming around with you your so knowledgeable thank you Ann uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️
Glad you're ok!
Omg glad your ok scary 🇬🇧❤️
Dr. Lori thank you again for such an interesting video. My grandmother had a powder and hair catcher set on her dresser. She kept bobby pins in the hair catcher. A hundred years from now things "we" do will be "why and weird". Just really enjoy your videos.
My husband and I were gifted 4 place settings of the Iris pattern dishes when we were married. There were dinner plates, lunch/sandwich plates, cereal/soup bowls and drinking glasses. Not sure now if there were 2 sizes of glasses or only tumblers. All we have left now (30+ years later) are 3 lunch plates which often can be found under a houseplant!
I learn something every time! Thank you!
That tray with cup attached piece looks great for laying out your beads so you see what you have and spread it out while your doing jewelry or bead work. 🙂 love that 1
Hey Dr. Lori! 🙋♀️
Glad you made it home alright!🙏
I love your videos on dishware and jewelry! My favorites! 🥰
Are you going to have anymore live zoom group appraisals? 🤞
Brightest Blessings! ☺️✌️💖🦋🙏
Glad angels were with you and your crew! Great to see this video! Thank you great teacher! You are encouraging and giving me hope. PS: I thought someone was ringing my doorbell. LOL.
OMG, that was some wild ride. My guardian angel works overtime. Glad you are following me here. I know, that doorbell was a little annoying after a while but I can see why the store personnel needed it.
How wonderful you are, always learn from you, thanks😊
Hey Dr Lori, can’t wait to see u
Loved your trip pics❤!
Love your videos. I have just started "thrifting" and have had some great finds/resales: Nespresso machine (bought $13, sold $50). Oscar de la Renta dress (bought $20, sold $50) and a Dresden antique perfume bottle (bought $3, sold $40). Thank you for your great instruction. I bought the Loupe you recommend, also. I feel so "pro."
This is only the 2nd video of yours that I've watched. In the first I thought, 'Oh how brilliant that she wears gloves!!' Even though you mention in this video that it's all about the oils, I'm here to confess that I've always secretly thought about wearing gloves, and now I surely will. Love learning about pieces from you!! 👋
so glad you are ok!!
Thank God you are OK and safe to many crazy people on the road today 🎉
Interesting, as always. Glad you are safe and sound. 😍
Great video and glad you are ok!!
Glad you are ok
I’m glad you are safe.
😮Always wondered about the gloves.....thanks informative. Got into the Thrifting because of my Grandmother. Am 77, but remembering when young, I would go with her to Rummage sales as she called them back then. Also to Auctions & Secondhand stores. Had planned to sell stuff online. Computer & printer died. We got rid of ATT internet was awful. Tried to get Verizon....ha ha they don't have it where we are ...we are right in the middle of all the Tech Firms.Being on fixed income, the costs if others just took much!!
Along with everyone else, I'm so glad you are OK.
Hi Dr Lori, I have learned more from your videos than anyone else I have watched. Hope one day you venture across the pond to visit the UK. I am from the Stoke on Trent and would love you to visit our charity shops. We get alot from when the factories were big but I suspect alot are seconds and would like to know the difference. Take care lovely Dr L 😊
I LOVE the Russell Home thrift store! Have you ever visited the actual Russell Home? They are amazing people there that take care of the residents.
❤☺️❤TYVM
I’m happy you are ok! You are a couple hours from me this day! 💐
Glad you made it through that accident!
OMG, I thought I was a goner.
Oh wow...i never knew why people even needed hair receivers😮 now i do😅 glad your doing ok❤
I'm glad that you're ok from the near miss. I'm sure it got your heart racing. I'd love to see some scarves in these stores. Also, do the straps a person can buy to change out thinner purse straps have any resale value?
So thankful you were not in the accident
OMG. it was very close. The Florida highways are just crazy.
Hair receiver learned something new today
You look tired. Thank you for sharing. I enjoy your information that you give.
Your swatch 😍🥰❤️
I wear gloves when thrift shopping, because I tend to drop things.
Gloves give a more-secure hold.
good idea.
The shop’s doorbell is making my dog bark. 😄
It goes with the scenery.
@@DrLoriV It was funny.
When looking at a plate how do you differentiate between hand painted and transferware. Thanks- glad the truck didn't get you!
I talk about this a lot in other videos and in articles too. Please use the search feature on my channel and on website for answers.
My great aunts collected their hair and used it to tie the bottoms of their braids.
Oh, that's interesting. I hadn't heard of that. Makes sense.
❤❤❤❤
Well, Dr. Lori, we wear weaves or wigs of human hair😂🤫
❤️❤️❤️
Hi Dr. Lori I'm glad that you are OK, that just reminds me of a little witchcraft... people use hair in spells 4:13
Thank goodness you were not in an accident. Shaken up I'm sure! I swear no one know how to drive anymore.
Dr Lori I am wondering if you know how to clean Czech Bohemian boheiman glass with enamal flowers and gold plating or trim? I have many pieces but have never cleaned them.
Have you asked your local museum who the use for such work?
The drivers on the riads are getting worse! We have it here in Vancouver, Canada. So aggressive
The cherries on the triangular plate look like they were painted by a young child,.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Dr.Lori I have an 1886 print of Uncle Tom's Cabin and it has a signature, I believe it's also dated in 1886 by who ever signed it and also they wrote down something else above the signature but it's hard to tell what it says and who's signature it is. Can you help?
Yes, I can help, but need to see it. Check out my website for options.
Hi Doctor Lori, Have you ever dropped a plate while looking at it? =)
Are you trying to jinx me? :)

I like you hair pulled up.
Hair obsession was pretty gross. Don't you agree?
I don’t like watching these videos because the thrift stores here don’t have stuff like this. It’s a bunch of junk!
I know you think it's kind of gross but I'm kind of interested in those things made out of human hair
Hello Dr Lori, It’s so good to see you.❤😊
