I like your channel ! Interesting videos. I dont know about yours, but my 2021 cfr 250f, the manual for my oil change say to check oil level to put dipstick in but without screwing it in, as you have done. I think it may change the measure a bit.
Oh goodness, well I was not aware. Mine is the same im sure because mine is just a year older. I haven’t really gotten into the manual like I should have.
I think the oil level in the manual says 1.5 US qt as well as heating the bike up for 3-5 minutes before changing the oil and checking the oil levels (2020 Honda CRF 250F)
FYI, you are checking the oil level wrong… you don’t screw the dipstick in to check he oil level. The method you are using will result in a low oil level condition and potentially damage the engine.
Hey man do you think it would be possible for you to do a size comparison to a full size 250 thinking about getting one but there ain’t none near me that I can sit on to see the size
Occasionally the bike slipped into other gears when it was new but other than that no. It doesn’t affect me too much really. I think it could be user error too. Also sometimes when the bike gets really hot it doesn’t seem to want to idle properly but it didn’t do that in the beginning. If I keep seeing issues with that I’ll take it to the shop to figure it out but I guess you just need a good air flow when riding it hard. I absolutely abused mine and it never failed on me yet.
@@MotoJake that’s good to know. I’ve heard other people saying theirs slipped gears when they first owned them. I think it could just be something with breaking in the bike. Thanks for letting me know, I’m pretty set on getting one of these and this helped seal the deal
I have a new 2021 250f. I would not hesitate, especially if you’re not a balls to the wall rider like me. The power is fairly linear, easy to maintain, and a lot of fun. Only thing I would do is set different bars and get a light bar, but that’s it really.
A buddy and I purchased a brand new pair of these bikes right off of the showroom floor in March 2022. Withe the addition of a LED headlight from Baja Designs and a graphics kit to break up WAY too much red(in my opinion), the only thing that I was disappointed in was the suspension. A little soft IMO.
Yeah, I got really lucky with mine! Got it a few weeks back. Dealer had 2 there and i got one! It's a good bike so far. Only have like 7 miles on it due to weather but from what i rode so far, it's a fun bike!
@@dustybowhunter Yeah, first dealer i called said that they had to put my name on an order for one and that I would get it when I get it lol. They don't even provide dealers with estimate delivery date right now. So I got lucky when I called the other dealer! Best bet would be to put a down on it now and order one. That would be the safest bet. Just make sure that it's what you want cause you might wait a few months to get it lol. Sorry for the long reply :P
I just check it every now and then to see if it looks like it needs changed. Mine certainly does now but it’s been too cold. We’ve had snow on the ground for the past 4 weeks.
Yo I’m 16 and 6’3 and 160 lbs would this bike be perfect for me? And also would it be good enough even if I get bigger and heavier I don’t wanna upgrade in future
Not me watching my own video to remind myself how much oil to use.
Lol
Do you still have the bike?
No. Got rid of it the day after I changed the oil in it again. About 4 months ago. Went the next week and bought a Kawasaki Ninja

Thank you for the refresh I already did this before but needed to make sure I know it right because it’s an internal filter and I lost the manual smh
Per owners manual it states you should not screw oil cap on to check oil level you just just have the dip stick set there flush

I actually ended up overfilling
It doesn’t matter that much lmao it’s like a few millimeters and you are putting in almost two quarts
Moto Jake getting it done.
Okay Jake I see you with that thumbnail dude
Just bought the GN4 10W-30SJ for my 2020 CRF250F. Will that be okay to use or shall it by 10W-40?
Hey man do you think it would be possible for you to do a size comparison to a full size 250 thinking about getting one but there ain’t none near me that I can sit on to see the size
I'm about to do a video specifically making that comparison as the difference is rather significant
I’m really lookin into getting one of these. How reliable has it been (I know it a Honda, dumb question) but any problems that you maybe found?

Out of curiosity what kind of oil goes in that thing. Never owned a bike but I’m oddly fascinated with them.
10w40 4 stroke motorcycle oil. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be synthetic or not but I put synthetic it it most of the time. Had no issue
I ran 10w30 in the colder months
Should have been a new o ring for the cover
Do you have to change the oil filter every time you change the oil I got mine 1 day ago and I want to change the oil soon ?
You probably should but I hear you can go 2 oil changes on one filter
hi jake, how often do you get your oil changed? greetings from Mexico
I would change it just twice a year or so on a regular interval. I don’t count my hours or anything.
If you bought brand new how long would you ride before changing the oil?
Every 15 hours, but if you got a brand new one I recommend changing it 12 hours for the first oil change
Trying to find one of these but literally nobody has them in stock

Have you replaced tyres yet? How many hours have you done so far?
I have no clue how many hours but many. Like at least a couple hundred. And yes I’ve gone through two entire sets going on my third

does this apply to the 2023 crf250f?
well u never replied so im gonna give 1.7 quarts a chance, hope my bike will be good. first oil change.
does the crf250f have transmission fluid?
No

I just do it when I feel it needs it. Check oil often.
how often you do yours? i be doin every like 7 hours
