@@themidlifemoto2325 I a really like it! So smooth and well balanced. It's just a putt putt but that's what I do. You're not paying for suspension here so going slower than you like over whoops is a must. But I recommend it!
Great video! Thank you! My brother in law just got this exact bike, so this helped a bunch. I’ve only changed oil in my and the wife’s Honda ATV’s. If you do go with 10W-40, try Amsoil. It’s amazing. Made my 2017 Rancher’s engine about twice as quiet
I watched oil change I was in the exact same situation as you I just picked up a 2021 with a couple hours on it still got the whiskers on the tires it’s so new Rode only a couple times Say myself a couple grand I think I’m gonna do an oil change as well just to be safe thanks for the video I’ll keep watching and subscribing and sharing how’s the bike being so far any tips..?
It all depends on how often I ride. I would say a good rule of thumb is to change every 6 months if you are riding a lot, especially if riding in dusty environments. If you are not riding a lot probably once a year would be good.
I’ve never used those oils. I would guess they would work just as well. Honestly I don’t think there is anything special about the Honda 1 oil, I like to use it in the case I sell the bike I can say I used genuine Honda parts and oil.
Honda doesn't make oil. Another company makes it for them. There isn't anything special about Honda branded lubricants. Look for JASO MA1 or MA2 types of oil. This is 4 stroke wet clutch oil. I use walmart brand synthetic motorcycle oil in all my bikes. The important part is use motorcycle oil. The clutch is a wet type that will be damaged by friction modifiers in regular car oil. Synthetic is a better product and handles high heat better than conventional oils but it's more expensive. This is air cooled so It's harder on oil than water cooled. Whichever you choose, change it on the manufacturers schedule and you should never have a problem on a Honda.
I did not see anything in the owner’s manual that said you should prime the filter, so I did not. I’ve owned a few Honda’s through the years and have never primed the oil filter, so far I have not had any issues. However I am not a professional mechanic.
I was told by a dealership to change it once a year. I would suggest if you ride a lot or if you are riding in dusty conditions I’d probably change it a couple times a year, better to be safe than sorry.
Thanks great video just picked up a 2024 learning everything I can. Really enjoying the bike so far.
I just bought one yesterday! Really excited about it. I pick it up tomorrow. (01/02/2021) Good video, I subscribed.
How ya liking it?

Great video.. Just purchased the 21 model. Great bike!
Great bike, hope to own one some day.

Do you check the oil level on the kickstand or standing straight up?
I check it standing up straight per the manual.
That oil wasn’t even black! Good job taking care of her, I changed the oil on my mini bike and it was jet black with metal flakes 😂
Was changing mine today and burned my hand on the oil and it was also jet black with metal fleck
I used a rubber mallet and barely tapped my socket wrench and the plug came loose.
That bike will last forever
Use a shorter socket, especially if you are tapping on it
Not calling you out but the head of a bolt is delicate, and you seem like a person who appreciates a safer approach
hi, how often do you get your oil changed? greetings from Mexico

Would maxima or motul oil be any good compared to the Honda one?

@@MrGunner945 yea exactly what I've been hearing too.. but thanks 👍

Can you clean the oil filter or do you have to replace it?
You will need to replace it.
How often do you change it ?
Once a year, unless I ride in dusty conditions then I might change it twice a year.
Your supposed to change it every 10-15 hours
Do you have to prime the filter with oil first?
I did not see anything in the owner’s manual that said you should prime the filter, so I did not. I’ve owned a few Honda’s through the years and have never primed the oil filter, so far I have not had any issues. However I am not a professional mechanic.
I bet you that's the factory oil and filter and you're doing the first oil change

I was told by a dealership to change it once a year. I would suggest if you ride a lot or if you are riding in dusty conditions I’d probably change it a couple times a year, better to be safe than sorry.
I was told every 4 hours. Sounds excessive, but if it's hard riding might be right
Damn those are tight
What kind of oil
