Originally played on a 12 string bass so my tone is a bit weird due to the weird sound of a bass whammy. If you’re thinking about using a whammy for this song, be advised: The chords will sounds very weird. I had to record the chords as 3 different tracks. The whammy can’t handle multiple notes at once so it’s gonna sound real ugly. Also, the original song had two bass tracks at once during the intro. That’s also why the harmonics sound so loud in the normal Master. But Jeff doesn’t play the harmonics live since he knows that you won’t be able to hold the other notes. I went for a mix however, because it is fun to play those harmonics.
been playing guitar for almost a year and im getting a bass next week......planning for this to be my first song and ill see how badly i fuck it up(or not!) ive literally never touched a bass as of now
Good playing.. I was playing along.. checked my tuning twice.. Is the recording tape sped up a bit?? I have to tune a tad above 440 to match up .. I never noticed this before.. Even Flow same thing.. Alive and Oceans are fine.. I’m rehearsing for a tribute band fill in.. seeing if you came across same issue . Thanks!
Thank you! I think Even Flow is much worse in terms tonality, I've tried covering it about 3 times and every time it results in me sounding VERY out of tune. I can't remember if I had this with Jeremy to be honest..
@@LeoBassCovers2 i recently started paying attention on muting strings while playing with the pic ... Mostly muting with the right hand (palm) works good for me. i think it's way easier but doesn't work always properly like in this case ...
It's a risky way of muting. You can end up going too far which ends up in muting the actual string you're playing so it definitely requires some practice

Hello Leo, thank you for the tab, at the end of it, there's two harmonics played but I don't think the 5th fret of the D string is correct?
I think it is the 7th fret instead :)
I always appreciate your notes!
Damn, never realised it's such a melodic bass line, you made it sound good!
Thanks again Johan!
This is one of those songs that just makes you want to start playing bass. Amazing job man
Oh definitely. Thank you!
This is among the first songs I ever learned on bass. SUCH nostalgia!! Thank you so much. It also shows me how much I butchered it lol.
No problem and same here! First song I learned on guitar I think.

One of my favorite Pearl Jam songs. Thanks.
A pleasure!
That Outtro always gets me so freaking good well played!
Beautiful cover Leo and awesome tone! I didn't know that about the separate recordings Jeff made. That's cool to know.
Thank you! It's more common than you might think. Hell, even Tool has done it!
I've loved this song for a while and wanted to learn it on bass, so this was really helpful. Really nice cover, and thanks for the accurate tabs
Happy to help!
Ament never disappoints
Insane cover and playing! Epic baseline
Thank you very much!
Great tone you got there and great playing. Looking at learning this one.

That is one heck of a bass line! Trying to learn it now
Have fun!
Jeremy is masterpiece.
Excelente!
Great effort - I 'm curious about your sound settings and effects which bass whammy did you use?
well done - sounds like new strings
Thanks!
Perfeito! Inscrito

@@LeoBassCovers2 yeah tuning is a bit sharp in E .. maybe tape got sped up .. or they just wanted it that way 🤷🏻♂️
Please can you do Night train by Rickie-Lee Jones? Thanks
May I know the effects you used for this? Great cover btw.
Thank you! I only used a bass whammy for the harmony effect :)
What bass do you have? Your covers are awesome btw!
Thanks! This is a Warwick GPS Corvette 5A Ash
Any chance you could do some more ozric tentacles covers?
Oof, I'd love to but they're very difficult usually. I'll see what I can do
Yussss!
Fucking amazing!!!!!
Thank you so much!
Do you think this would still work if you just had an up-octavier running? Synthetic, yeah, but would it work do you think?
I think it would work if you'd only play single notes. The chords and the outro will not sound good
What effects did you use for it.
The original song was played on a 12 string bass, I recreated the sound with a DigiTech Bass Whammy and some drive :)
Nice……What do you have the bass whammy set on to get that 12 string(ish) tone?
It's just the 1 octave up in harmony mode
Question: Actually it's pretty obvious but, you're muting the open A-String with your left hand while playing?
Yep! Usually with my index or middle finger

Do you have a bass only track to this song if you do could you send it to me :) I'm planning to cover this song.
There was no backing track. It's just the original song, but with a big EQ low cut :)
@@LeoBassCovers2 Oh alright, thanks mate.
Saludos desde Venezuela.Te dejo está de Zapatos 3 "amor de hierro"🤘🤘
Hmmmm guess I gotta get a 12 string now 🤷♂️
Bom dia, vim aqui dizer que só o amor de Deus pode preencher nosso vazio. Só falem com Ele
Not a pearl jam fan,but it's a catchy little bass jingle
