After watching your video, I decided to start scheduling again in my calendar. Actually, I've stopped scheduling and have been using only to-do lists instead because everything I schedule doesn't happen most of the time due to bad mood, laziness, lack of sleep, unexpected plans, etc. Your video was really worth watching. Happy holiday!! 😁
I have adhd and as i told my therapist once, time blocking mostly feels like scheduling failure to me 😅 totally impressed with people who can live this way
@@haley-decemberbrown9803 yes! same, ever since i started planning and time blocking i feel more concentrated and present because i'm not stressed out about my other activities or responsibilities, i know there will be a time for that so i can allow myself to focus on that specific activity. Also i've been feeling less anxious about the future, i feel like i can rely on what my past self planned for my present self, so that also allows me to be more secure about my decisions! very cool, i wish i learned this a long time ago lol
1) I love that you use apple’s calendar instead of google calendar. Google calendar for some reason never works for me. I can’t change the colors or anything it’s weird. On the desktop too it’s so weird. 2) I started calendar blocking because of you. I don’t do it as extreme as you but I should lol
I love how you explain in a way that actually makes sense without causing stress. Your videos are actually inspiring to do something about the structure currently used to do things in life. I'd find it interesting how you tackle home work for uni and what sort of things you have to do if there's room for you to document stuff a bit to fill a video. At my university, in some modules, I have to write a report about conducted projects on subjects the modules focus on. Would be interesting to get to know what sort of things you do at uni.
I once did the same as you and blocked the whole calendar with blocks ;) This didn't really help me to be more productive, but rather scared me when I saw my completely filled calendar. Now I only block events and fixed times for the week. All free blocks are automatically my "focus time". I can see what I'm doing there in my task manager (Things 3). I also collect all ideas and tasks in my inbox there. I only do larger projects and planning in a note app.
Your videos literally never fail to motivate me. As of late I've added more and more onto my plate, but haven't been implementing a strict schedule and your video helped with the motivation to do that! Created my trigger list and started planning (naturally on the week I have the most social obligations and the least amount of time) but at least I've started. Also side note, your videos also always inspire me to up my editing game, literally one of my favorite editing styles on UA-cam hands down.
Creating multiple calendars to separate personal, corporate, and UA-cam work saved me so much time long term! I was also able to use it as a data analysis tool to show when I was productive most often, and when I needed to take breaks so I didn't burn out while working on my goals. Thanks for sharing these tips!
Ohh that's amazing! Yes, I find calendars really helpful for carving out those breaks, cause otherwise the work would just bleed into every part of the week!
I have never totally understood calendar blocking and I wasn't sure if it was just because I am out of school & working a 9-5. but your video has inspired me to test it out as I find myself a lot of the time either avoiding me time or avoiding chore/errand stuff. thinking this might help me out :) thanks for the inspiration!!!
Beatrice! I have been watching you for a while now! You were in high school when I became aware of your channel. I have started and stopped every 30 seconds so many of your videos, and this was another....even though it was a freshened up version of a previous video, it was so incredibly informational. The Parkinson's Theory?! Amazing! I also preordered your book, and I've worked through a lot of the books content. I want to encourage you to keep going! You're doing amazingly. I can't even fathom what I could have accomplished with my life had I started at 15 instead of 45!! Thank you for your content. Thank you for sharing your life with us. You're doing marvelously. And even when you're real and honest with us, we hear you and relate.
Glad you pointed out that calendar blocking needs to be flexible and have the ability to react to your day-to-day life. GTD is great, but I don't know anyone who can adhere to it 100%. Lol. BTW, I much prefer your original method than something that integrates EVERYTHING. And glad you're back. 🤗
I used to do calendar blocking to better organise my time beetween learning for school, and relaxing and having fun with my sister. But my sister didnt Like the Times ive set for myself to learn, BC oftantimes, she would want to spend time with me, when i wanted to learn, so she threw my schedule away, and i than gave up on this, until i watched youre video.
Your reasons are so good and on point and relatable .. I was literally nodding in agreement with what you were saying 😄 and now I feel inspired to try this method hoping that i can be consistent with it !!💪☻️ Thank you for you amazing work !!! U always inspire me to do better 😍💕 I wish u loooots of blessings and all the best 💕 😘
my biggest issue when trying calendar blocking is that i don't know how to break bigger tasks on smaller chunks (i.e. a big project for a class in uni) and therefore i get really overwhelmed when trying to plan my week ahead, if that makes sense? i hate being spontaneous on this kind of thing but i always end up doing everything last minute because i really don't know how to plan it out haha great video, i loved it and definitely gave me motivation to keep trying, so thanks!! see you in two weeks
Calendar blocking is a time-management technique that involves planning out your day or week in advance and assigning specific tasks to specific time slots. Despite being seen as rigid and inflexible by some, there are three key reasons why everyone can benefit from using calendar blocking: it reduces decision fatigue by eliminating the need to make constant choices about how to spend your time; it helps you work more efficiently by creating self-imposed deadlines for tasks; and it ensures that you make time for all the things that matter in life, including rest, play, and socialization. While some may worry that calendar blocking removes all spontaneity and fun from life, it actually helps to prioritize these aspects of life by freeing up mental space and time that would otherwise be spent worrying about how to fit everything in. While it may take some time to get used to, calendar blocking can ultimately lead to less stress, better productivity, and a better work-life balance. ----From Notta's video summarizer
I’m planning on becoming a better procrastinator upcoming year. So I started to looking in to people like you, a planner! And I’ve been enjoying all of your videos. Thank you for all of your tips and advice from experience. I’m happy to see “Korean study” in your trigger list, by the way! Hope I can see your progress and struggles (in a good way!) studying it one day.
I'd love to see more about how you use the colors on your calendar --it looks like the purple is superimposed over your class schedule? how does that work?
I'm totally gonna try calendar blcoking, specifically because I have a friend with the to be calmer and go with the flow personality who I study with a lot last minute, and I am a Type A color-coding girlie, so he won't have to make plans in advance and I won't have to do anything last minute!

Same! I have ADHD and can not get myself to time block. I feel like it would be helpful but I can’t get myself to do it.

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO

I'd love to see more about how you use the colors on your calendar --it looks like the purple is superimposed over your class schedule? how does that work?
Starting calendar blocking and definitely gonna test Akiflow😊
Got inspired to do my personal calendar blocking system. Thank you! ♥️
i love this consistency!!

Buen Trabajo con la organización! Te lo copio! :)
Hey there,
Which computer program are you using to make this calender time-table and schedules ?
Hope to hear from you soon please .. thanks
you should really think about starting a podcast!!!
but how do you stick to your schedule 😭😭 I never listen to myself even after I spend hours scheduling and planning out everything in advance 😭😭
Amazing ❤❤🎉
am I the only who who writes a schedule and never sticks to it?!
According to a recent study of one university in Minnesota, only Capricorns can succeed at time-blocking
Yes, that's true. They are Kings of Time 😎
Great info!! also, you look like Billie Eilish
Interesting! Cool video!✌️
Great info
Damn I love this!
But I feel like it is not for me because just looking at this completely full calendar week stresses me out😅
do you have that notion link with what you need to get done? i'd love to duplicate it and make it my own.
The speaks like Rory Gilmore
Totally random lol, but you look kinda like Billie Eilish in the thumbnail 💛
The way she says "dude" also really reminds of Billie Eilish. 😀
What's your habit tracker app?
✨🤘
Hi girl. I just wanted to check your website and it says expired! What happened?
❤❤❤
You look so beautiful
Man, I just thought that she's Billie Eilish.
What are you studying?
I have to go shopping when I'm hungry, otherwise I won't buy any food that I want to eat.
I’m stressed
you look a bit like Billie Eilish :)
This is what I was gonna say.
🤍🤍🤍
you look like billie eilish wtf lmao
First! Lol
