I like the Gilded Sword because it allows me to use the shield since it is one handed. It has 3 damage compare to Great Fairy Sword that has 4 damage. Not a huge difference.
I think the process of getting the Gilded Sword could have been more involved. Like the video says, it's cool to use premium materials to make the ultimate sword, but really you just need one material, the Gold Dust. Part of what makes the Razor Sword useless is that pretty much as soon as its available to you, you can also get the Gilded Sword (and it takes a full day to make). Even if it didn't break after a hundred swings or revert after time travel, it would still see little practical use. But make the Gilded Sword slightly more difficult to get, say, requiring both the Gold Dust and something from Great Bay that is only available after getting the Hook Shot or Ice Arrows, then it opens up another portion of the game where the Razor Sword is available while the Gilded Sword isn't thus making it better (and making the Gilded Sword feel more special).
Ok for 1 your name is actually Fierce Deity? That is awesome. 2, by testing the Fierce Deity sword compared to the Great Fairies sword you can see that they have the same damage. The Fierce Deity sword however is much larger, shoots some sort of beam, and is wielded by a god of that most likely held the triforce of power. I have theorized this because the Fierce Deity is so powerful, and he has the triforce embroidered on his armor. I don’t know why this kid thinks the Great Fairies sword is better. When it comes down to it what really is stronger, a fairy, or a god? Just thought I’d let you know what I thought cuz I agreed with your comment, thanks for your time and message me back what you think.
Jack Neiman this list is my personal favorite swords, not a sheer ranking of their power. Fierce Deity can be presumed as the stronger entity in welding it. I simply like that the Great Fairy’s Sword looks giant carried by child Link and can be used anywhere- compared to the FD Sword’s boss room restrictions/can’t be used by Link. I also personally love both designs but the Great Fairy’s a tad more- mostly because of the stark colors I always remember Majora’s Mask for. Double Helix is awesome- it’s a fan favorite. I just didn’t want to put it as number one just because people think it should be number one. Don’t want you to think I’m on the offensive- you are very respectable in the comment and I appreciate that. I know this was directed at Mr. FierceDeity himself but I wanted to give my ranking process :)
I love how you can get the best spin attacks with the great fairy sword there so big! Finally someone who appreciates the great fairy sword as much as I do
I got home and saw this in my subscriptions and, without hesitation, clicked the video. I LOVE Majora's Mask as well and share many memories with the game. Looking forward to these upcoming videos and I'm also looking forward to the Majora's Mask walk through. 👍
2:34 i have to add a helpful comment. It doesn't take an entire day to make the razor sword, it can take just a second. They only need to work on the sword until 6am the next morning. Regardless of what time you give them the sword it'll be ready by morning. So, you can literally give them the sword at 5:59am and pick it up at 6:00am ready to go. I liked the video tho, so I'm subscribing 👍🏽
The Great Fairy Sword is so interesting to me. Throughout OoT and MM the great fairies have always awarded Link with magic spells or upgrades to his health/magic meter. This was the first time one gave him an actual weapon. And it's a badass two handed sword at that. I wonder if it's technically a sacred blade like the Master Sword. My only complaint is how late in the game you get it. But man is it satisfying to use.
@@rockk9753 Clearly it was meant to be the equivalent of the Biggoron Sword from Ocarina of Time. And it was taller than Link. It still could have been a heavy sword that an adult Link would need two hands to wield. Likewise, the Gilded Sword was meant to have the same physical strength of the Master Sword without the latter's sacred power. Majora's Mask Link was obviously a little bit older and a little bit bigger than child Link from Ocarina of Time, so perhaps the upgraded weapons he got from Majora's Mask, he'd keep as an adult. Remember when he had the Gilded Sword in the sheath, it almost touched the ground. The new MajorLink fan series Hero's Purpose shows an adult Link carrying the Gilded Sword and Mirror Shield from Majora's Mask.
@@jaybling6687 but is the great fairy sword really a two handed sword or is it just two handed because he is a child? Ocarina of time and majoras mask supposedly take place in like 6 months from each other no one grows that much in six months, The feircy deity sword is a two handed sword since we see an even bigger version than adult Link using it, I think adult link can weild the great fairy sword with one hand
@@jaybling6687 just because its the 3rd sword doesnt mean its actually a two handed weapon like the biggoron sword, young link couldnt even weild the master sword even with 2 hands so I dont think the great fairy sword is even as big as the master sword let alone an actual two handed sword like the biggoron sword
Thepianist126 glad to see your name in the comments section! :) I’m stoked so many people here agree on Majora being their favorite- it’s an easy opinion to find online nowadays but not anybody I know in person relates. Cool to have a small community like this to discuss it with :D
I personally rank weapons by their Magical ans Physical Strength (which would make me put the Fierce Deity Sword on top) but the fact that you can only use it against Bosses is not really a Benefit
I'm just now playing this game after playing oot for so long and i really liked it. But i def think the start can be confusinf for a first time playthrough.
I would love to see another Zelda game that takes place right after majoras mask, and that they would give us these swords again. They’re all pretty cool. Well, except for the Kokiri sword. Lol
I never actually got any use out of the Fairy Sword so always used the Gilded Sword, let me explain. I bought MM when it first came out on the N64, but the whole Groundhog Day mechanic annoyed me, so I left it. I would come back to it several times over the years, but would get pissed at the constant repetition. Finally just a few months ago I decided I'm going to beat this thing, but I couldn't be bothered dusting off the N64 so I bought the virtual console version on the Wii U. The only problem is the C buttons on the N64 controller are mapped to the right analog stick on the Wii U gamepad, and let me tell you, it's no fun trying to swing a sword (or play the ocarina, or fire arrows, or any C button tasks for that matter)around while constantly pushing the analog stick.
I agree with the razor sword being the coolest looking. I often wished It was the last upgrade. The guided sword looks worst in my opinion. The hilt zigzags and the blade bulges in the center. It’s the least attractive in its design.
I think the gilded sword is the best sword because the great fairy sword is not practical. When you get it, there is no dungeon left to do so it’s not very useful compared to the gilded sword which helps a lot for the great bay and stone tower temples.
The Fierce Deity isn't mentioned in the original booklet that came with the game, are you thinking of the guidebook by Nintendo Power? I don't see them calling it a helix sword there either though. After gaining acess to the sword, you are put into the final battle so why does it matter anyways? And as a matter of fact, there are easy glitches that lets you use the sword outside of boss rooms (mask duping, equip swap, SoT storage, etc.).

How much damage does the fierce deity sword do?
It does the same damage as the Great Fairy Sword, and can also shoot out a wave from it's blade.

FierceDeity's Double Helix Blade! Also, Majora's Mask is my favorite game.
