Who doesn’t love an Arnor campaign?? Great to see your take on the campaign! About the Sworn units. I like how you said they help fill up your armies. Sworn infantry despite their name are really just Nimrodel Mariners of Dol Amroth. A really good archer unit, basically identical stats. Sworn Horsemen are a solid cavalry unit with 5 melee, 8 charge, and 16 defense. The ND you just need help filling out the armies. Very excited to see where you go from here!

The javelin folks are my faveourite in the game, so Im always trying tk befriend them 😊 looking forward to see how will you navigate in this sea of enemies !
The key to early game as ND I found is to immidietely blitz down goblins. They are by far the biggest threat. You can defend against Dunland easily in Tharbad (if you can get there fast enough). Ignore Angmar untill Gobs are pacified and after that it should be smooth sailling from there. Killing Angmar is annoying but can be put on hold after Goblins.
Angmar is one of those factions that can't be left unchecked, once they start coming you've got to start hammering at them and slowly take their settlements otherwise you've got a problem. Gobbos are strong to start with but once your armies are tier 2+ you can steam roll them
By the time you will be fighting Angmar you'll have good armies to beat them. Meanwhile gobbs left unchecked wil just drown you in shit-tier units that will just overwhelm you since early game you have so little number of units.
I've done a run like that, but I've used the spy and the dunedain troops on tharbad, which are cost effectivness way less exspensive than militia or mercenaries
@@gianlucatubotti1564 I've done far more crazier things that have worked out. I think I was unfortunate that the AI decided to send all their units at me.
You can only get one of the tier 3 across all factions and only 1 tier 2 per faction so I cannot get multiple of them. So the only benefit is really the increased recruitment. By the time that is relevant I'll have plenty of troops to recruit. Weapons guild just makes everything recruited better.
so what I normally do since you can't really get units from the Erriador regions is just sell them to either the elves or the dwarves to give me an income and just push the goblins, once at war with you dunland is not likely to attack either high elves or Khazad-dum and taking, selling, then moving on allows you to clear the entire western side of goblins quickly and there are sons of the fallen mercs in Zag Kala which really helps
I just don't like that playstyle though of selling off regions. Quite a few comments are saying that is what people do, feels like a cheat. I want to deal with the problems I'm given as a campaign.
@@epmtotalwar I look at it lorefully Eragorn would return the settlements of the dwarves and elves to them after pruging the goblins from them. plus it is only like 3-4 settlements that are not that wealthy or have any kind of military recuitment options for you
Hi 🖐 i'm very thankfull you play as a Northern Dunedain (fav faction). You almost crushed the Dunland so i suggest you to rush them and capture 2 settlements and sell bordering one to them for peace (after capturing second they wil get doomstack). It will end (for some time) war on this front and you can focus on conqering Cordolan and Angmar. Soon after peace the goblins or Enedwaith should attack dunland so no worries that they could strike back. Also this part of middle earth is very depopulated so it is important to boost population (in future higher incomes and posibility to better units). You can also use diplomacy trick on goblins (they pay for peace and they also break the peace a turn later so you can do it again)
Here is my suggestion clear Celenoiach with the new troops to finish the mission and then hit the goblins and then Duneland. Angmar is stuck Fennas Druinn can finally get defences Amon Sul is invincible and the high elves aren't losing Imladris anytime soon its better to get an enemy to interfere and then wipe out the weaker faction while gathering a heartland before the grind through Angmar. If you are lucky Angmar will do the thing they've been doing for the last two campaigns and attack Gundabad which has an antiplayer buff so the war will be extremely stalemated. Also the fall of Dunland will let Endwaith get the room needed to go and confront Isenguard.
I'm definitely not going after Angmar until I have the Goblins under control and Dunland subdued. The question will be whether they give me that time. I can hold at Amun Sul but how long will Bree lang on for? That is the question.
@@epmtotalwar Mangalin will therefore be another strong barrier I anticipate that bree won't last long should Fornost fall, however by then I expect that the goblins are gone at least and you will have advanced onto Duneland.

That will be more than you could ever earn in the same amount of time through those settlements and bree will be able to develop them far better than you ever could. Wait for a couple turns (turn 11-15) to build up your forces and then rush Mount Gram (ignore Cameth Brin, its got strong neutral garrison & it provides little revenue). Mount Gram is one of the easiest settlements to defend using ND thanks to your archers and provides at least 1k of income per turn. Angmar at turn 15 would be fully committed to rushing neutral settlements, so there wont be much resistence. Morva Tarth can also be safely ignored early on since its got no wall and is very hard to develop. After mount gram, you can either go for Carn Dum or Litash. They have huge populations that could be very profitable once stabilized. They are also easier to defend than settlements like Tharbad. For some reason, Bree kind of scares off dunland, and they shouldnt do much to bother you. Also, Mengalen is 1000% overrated. The same goes for steelbowmen. Id rather have 3 units of dunedain rangers than 1 slow and hard to replenish unit of expensive archers. It is also one of the primary reason why I hate taking Halbarad out to attack. The man costs like 388 each turn. Oh, and dunedain scouts are THE most overpowered unit against the gobos and Angmar. They are decent horse archers and can charge down trash like goblin bands or thralls.
