    Loving Mikes bush craft channel, how does he find the time being a teacher! Probs the same as what I'm doing early mornings and late nights grafting. Get used to after a while I suppose. As dad says go hard or hard or go home or my personal favourite '' ill sleep when I die'' ooowa!

    None sea fisherman here but I have a question about reels. Why are the majority of sea fishing/multiplier reels right hand wind? 99% of coarse fishing is left hand wind, why would you use right hand for sea fishing? Doesnt it just make it more difficult than it needs to be?

    • @woodey1123
      @woodey1123 8 років тому

      +LambOfLucifer
      Think upside down mate, Corse fishing your rod rings are facing downwards i.e your reel hand is your left. Due to the nature of sea fishing you get more leverage with your rod rings facing skyward. Rods are stiffer with the rod rings facing sky ward than downward. Horses for courses these days ,you can get fixed spool reels and rods which are just as capable as a multiplier at bringing in the majority species in the UK both shore and boat.

      @DarkShooper 8 років тому

      +LambOfLucifer I cast spinning and bait casting rods with my right hand, then hold it with my left and reel with my stronger right hand.

    • @LambOfLucifer
      @LambOfLucifer 8 років тому

      Thanks for the replies guys. Guess it has always seemed odd to me. I am left handed, and as the majority of course reels are left hand wind, I could never understand why you wouldnt simply get a left hand wind multiplier for sea fishing.

      I think we are both confused here! thinking about it I always hold my rod in my left hand. Turning the reel handle forward (away from you) retrieving the line. I think what your were getting at ''is why sea anglers use there rods with the rod rings facing skyward as opposed to the conventional "rod ring down" course fishing style. If you are left handed I its the same (reel forward to retrieve line) th handle s just on the opposite side of the reel.

      +LambOfLucifer It doesnt really matter, for me, I rather reel with my right hand in fresh and saltwater.

      Number one rule! NEVER FALL OFF A BOAT AT SEA! Have fallen overboard once but the boat was on dry land, hurt like a bitch, with a couple of stitches. Fresh water quite often have a swim to retrieve gear and what not if there not to much weed.

      +dav woo I don't have any friends !!...Actually I know lots of guys who go out in their own boats alone.A few are older than me !! I love it,peace,solitude,and I can do what the heck I want on the boat.But....I appreciate it is indeed a risk on your own.I figure in our sea temps I wouldn't last more than a couple of minutes anyway. What about the kayakers ? Guess there are lots that go out on their own ,and I feel a lot safer in "Hi Sea Drifter" than one of the Yaks...where would I put my cooker for making tea ??

      You have 86,849 friends fella!
      All about space for tea making. Kayakers? They must be nuts, had one bobbing around us when we were fishing the CBYC open cod comp. 2015/2016 winter season we were out fishing, on our way back we saw one of the old boys in a small open boat. Pulled up next to him to see how he's getting on, he literally had his trousers rolled up with water up to hi shins. Go in we said! he's the cod farther however, so left him to.
