    What an awesome way to spend a winters day, nothing like a bit of mud, Mother Nature and mulled wine 🍷 with a lovely late lunch …
    There always has to be food😍😂

    What a fun looking race! I love how you're humble and rarely make a big deal about how you did, though I'm guessing you killed it! My husband always "releases the kraken" when I finish a race... he's a 100 lb black shepherd who HATES his herd splitting when the race starts! He's always so excited when I cross the finish. 😆 I use the Garmin metrics, and I'm not sure how accurate it is, but my "body battery" score is usually between 35 and rock bottom... being a chronic insomniac is terrible for training and recovery, but I do the best I can. I'm hoping 2023 is my best year yet. 🤞

    Great music on this one, very upbeat and fun. I did Mapledurham 10 miler once and loved it, one of the more memorable races out there, partly for just the time of year, but also the terrain. Thanks as always for sharing. Watching your videos are the next best thing to actually going out for a run (which I've just done).

    Fantastic running video, as always Flora. It's great to see that Tia loved the run (I hope Fiann did too). Thankfully you weren't filming when you lapped me 🤣

    Ha ha good old Garmin, 3 weeks to recover :-) In the early days of my Garmin I used to have run suggestions on (to try it). I pressed run mode on the day after it had suggested a long recovery and it told me run 9 miles at world record pace 😀 No surprise that I disabled it after that and tend to listen to my body and not my watch on recovery 😀. Love the videos, Take care

    Fantastic time Flora! Loved the video and yes quite a difference in running a 10K versus a HM in terms of pace and perceived exertion. The shorter the race, usually the more intense the effort level is. I need to see where I am at with a half marathon race. It's been a while since I've raced on. Keep up the great work and I really enjoy your content.

      Winter is great to try trail running! It's less muddy cos it's all frozen, and way less slippery than roads. Otherwise try just going towards the afternoon where it's warmed up. Worst case, try the treadmill!

    Found ya channel a week or so ago, what an inspiration you are, love your pure and unadulterated enthusiasm (I personally could not think of anything worse than trying to do 5k let alone a half marathon), maybe I need to think about getting back out there and enjoying it - no pain no gain I guess 🙂

      Try different stuff! Trail, road, long, short. Personally, though I thought my body could never handle more than a half marathon once a year, I now try to do 3-4 50ks a year. Turns out slowing down, walking occasionally, and being on the trails makes my body happier than hammering out a "fast" 5k on the road! Best wishes!

    @flora- Is it possible to edit live stats like temp, pace, elev, and HR into your race posts?

    • @FloraBeverley
      @FloraBeverley  Рік тому +1

      Oooh I share all of this on Strava, but I'll see if I can! I don't want to make it about pace though, more about the experience than anything else. I just want to keep it fun and lighthearted :)

    • @markdean1768
      @markdean1768 Рік тому +1

      @@FloraBeverley Very good - I follow you on Strava & will check it. Thought it would be cool to see HR on races & elev. Raced an out-of-state Half this past weekend and felt I had to keep dialing back b/c of higher than expected HR. 14C temp difference might have been the main issue.

    • @FloraBeverley
      @FloraBeverley  Рік тому

      @markdean1768 I measure HR on my watch so it's to be taken with a pinch of salt 😅 but it's all there on strava incl elevation 🤗

  • @hells9466
    @hells9466 Рік тому

    Is there a reason why you didn't have any food/drink during the half? (If you're a new runner reading this - I would strongly advise you take on sufficient hydration and 30-60g carbs/hour for a 21km run)

    • @FloraBeverley
      @FloraBeverley  Рік тому +3

      I arrived extremely well fed and know what my body can handle (and re-fuelled straight afterwards). But yes to new runners/anyone training v hard, taking fuel for runs over 90 mins is recommended

    • @debrascott8775
      @debrascott8775 Рік тому +2
