In the mid-1960s, my ship patrolled much of the Trust Territories of the Pacific. That said, after visiting Koror, Palau during the July 4th weekend of 1964 I can honestly say, Koror became my favorite destination in the islands. It's a beautiful island.

For me, first stop is the Netherlands and then Germany. Visiting friends and family in both countries. Then off to eastern Europe, I think. I need to explore more of that region. Then back to the Balkans. I remember before I left on my first Europe trip in 2017, i was watching your Kosovo video (that's how I first discovered you) I was looking forward to visiting that country so much. Never did make it. Hopefully this time around.

Palau was only part of the Philippines through Spanish colonization with the Spanish East Indies, including Marianas islands and Guam. 🇪🇸
Palau was only claimed by the Philippine's first congress as a formal declaration on paper, they never took control of the islands from the Spaniards, and the interactions/contact with between the two Islands were the native men who crewed the Spanish trade ships and worked together. Nowadays the majority of non Palauans, including Filipinos came after the 1980s as migrant workers and skilled specialists etc.
