Nothing was "split in half", those are just two separate opinions, and even if those were the two majority opinions (only one of them was), that doesn't mean its halved. If the game is uninteresting, then don't play it. Minecraft has been around since 2009, it has changed, it is never going to ever be the game that people want it to be and to expect that is just simply unrealistic. The game is not a bad game, the developers are not bad people. In fact, I'd argue mojang is better than most devs because at least they try to listen to the community and get feedback from the, they try to engage with the community and yet they are only met with complaining by a very vocal group of people who have nothing better to do than whine and complain about free content updates for nearly 15 year old game that nobody is forcing them to play. If they don't like it, then they don't have to play it, but instead they whine and complain and want unrealistic expectations out of a company that makes new content for free.
As a developer myself, this kind of content is beyond infuriating. This kind of cheap "anti-mojang" content is everywhere and it's actually annoying. Imagine just for a moment how bananas you'd be if no matter what thing you produce, no matter how much you care about it or how much time you put into it or how much thought was put into it, it gets shot down by thousands of very vocal people who whine and complain about it just because they wanted more out of it. You never hear them say that they're grateful they got anything, or that they even like anything else from what you've worked on, it's just constant complaining and its actually sickening. Having made my own minecraft mods, I've had to deal with this on a personal level and after that, my entire view on mojang changed, I understood it and it made me feel like crap.
Mojang is comprised of humans, real living beings that have emotions and feelings and can only do so much. If you want to say "oh well this modder made everything from X update in a single day!", sit down and think about the fact that they don't have to do this for a living, they have no deadlines to meet, they didn't have to come up with the idea or conceptualize it or pitch it to a whole team, or come up with things for it to do, they don't have to work on an engine that is constantly riddled with issues or technical limitations or bugs, and they didn't have model it or texture it.
Working on minecraft isn't as simple as 'adding blocks and items', it's no different than any other game, and you have to maintain it. Modders don't have to deal with any of the things that mojang does, they don't have to fix bugs or even make their creations work on bedrock. Kingbdogz himself, the lead Aether dev, has literally said these same things, and he literally works on Minecraft.
Mojang isn't the problem, Minecraft isn't dying, the community just needs to grow up and get a different hobby. I'm tired of the complaining.

dude 💀 if the community isn't satisfied with how the game is and it continues on like this, it'll die. trust me, if the community really did stop whining and people stopped playing IT WOULD DIE. mojang desperately needs to start TRULY listening to the community.

@@ManuelFranco2009 most do not utilize mods to play. if mods solve everything then there's no point in updating the game. this does not make sense, thus mojang needs to start listening to the community's requests for once.
@@ahran_b Updates have an important role that nobody mentions. Updates are giving Modders ideas look at the Alex’s Cave Mod, without 1.18 that mod wont exist. And Mojang only listens to feedback Like the camel, cherry trees, hanging signs and etc. Not some comments And they even added there rejected ideas like armor trims and the Crafter. And they stop listening since Notch Sell minecraft becuase they learn something and never change that lesson.
I never in my life would i have guessed that at 26, after not playing Minecraft for 7+ years, i would be listening to Kermit The Frog's child telling me why it sucks now 💀
It's not only the updates. I also hate the fact that that monopolizing on console and Bedrock Edition with the marketplace. As soon as that came out I knew it was going to go downhill fast. Not for them obviously but just why would I spend $20 on in-game currency to buy one skin pack when on the old console version you could get all of that and worlds for like five bucks. Do you think this is what Notch envisioned when he created a Sandbox game for people to join together and do things? To turn into a monopoly that charges absurd amounts of money for Community created projects. I play Java so I don't have to worry about that but in high school I remember stating this exact thing, 4 years ago. I'm sure someone's response will be then don't play the game and my response will be I haven't in a long time. The game just eventually got boring as well, there was nothing to progress in, and the game was like find stuff go kill Dragon win game. It's not really a game to do a replay playthrough on. I mean looking at Terraria (and I know this has been used a lot), you could play through that game over and over and always have a different experience especially with all the new seeds and difficulties being added. Another good example would be Vintage Story. that game keeps you invested for how difficult it is to progress. Anyway that was a rant and a half, this is only opinion and I mean no disrespect to anyone else. :)

It is, the developers aren't making new things to entretain people with their small updates, unlike other games like fortnite (im not saying its better) that made big updates like og map and the new chapter having 3 million+ people playing it daily.
On social media Minecraft Is pretty bad: on UA-cam youtubers are still doing videos and thats good but on tik tok insta no one is talking about it

The best update I remember is the Halloween update. Anything after that was okay or useless. Maybe there were some small features that were cool but I think in the view of best updates being added the Halloween update added something new and incredible at the time and game-changing features. Even if the nether was nothing at the time it was still something. :)
Look if you don’t like the new updates then play the older versions yes you can do that with the Java edition
