I'm literally 14 and yet somehow thinking about the many updates that have come to the game makes me feel super old. I occasionally still feel like mending is a relatively new addition, and then I realise just how long ago it was. Or iballisticsquid and SB737's collab series on the aquatic update.

I’m kind of number one it’s fun with my friends but.. never beats my first time.. I remember that world so vividly.. in 1.11 a village town on a tiny island and my house was a box with dirt on the top to grow food.. I remember it all. I wish I could go back 😢.

I had a survival world which my dad and I would play often. I haven’t played that world for 6 years. I remember the village we built, the world we explored, the OP bow I fished, the giant ravine below our house, for it to all be gone when our Xbox 360 was sold due to moving reasons.

that part about Minecraft players growing up hits hard. I used to play Minecraft all day and now I can barely play it for 20 minutes before quitting because it just doesn't hit the same as it used to
Minecraft is still good man,its way better and more challenging with the new nether, caves,villages and etc.
I think the reason could be because you either can't get used to new game mechanics and they make it too easy or too hard and makes you miss the old ones or because you have grown up and miss the old versions of Minecraft and that feeling of discovering new crafting recipes without using Google and having fun with friends in a Minecraft world where it's about trying to survive and have fun with limited resources maybe?

As a 16 year old now, it just isn't as fun as it used to be. I take longer breaks from it, but it still has me coming back to it eventually though
As a 16 year old who started playing Minecraft around 2016, stopped playing around 2018-19 and started playing again 2022 I can say with certainty that Minecraft is far more fun than it was. The amount of detail you can put in builds now is amazing and it’s nice having so many options with a more developed brain than I had starting.

Kids, I remember in the good ol’ days when Minecraft was one of, if not, the biggest trend on UA-cam. The Golden Age (2011ish* - 2018) were the best years in my life to play Minecraft. Covid-19 did help many people join or fall in nostalgia at its former beauty.

About the first reason, yes, I can relate...
Last year I was at 9th grade, had all the time in the world, and played almost every day.
Now I'm in high school, 10th grade, computer science class, and it has been a lot more difficult to find free time amongst tests, homework etc.
I'm sorry Minecraft, but I will be away for a while...
The thing is, 1.20 might be a really huge update for Desert (as there's camels) and Archaeology (Ulraf (one of Minecraft's devs) said in one of his tweet "This update gonna be awesome when it's all *done and dusted!* Are you excited to see what else we're gonna *dig up* for you??")

How many game breaking bugs are in minecraft. How many are in mods. How much content does an update have vs a mod? Find a mod that works on Java, and every version of bedrock, including consoles.

I fall into the first category, growing up with the game was my childhood, but now it just doesn't feel the same as it used to... but nobody ever quits Minecraft. They only take a break.
I started playing on 2017 and when the Minecraft is slowing to update... I started getting bored and want to try other games.. and your right some players is getting older.. but now Minecraft nostalgia is calling me and get back on Minecraft experience and an Minecraft adventure, I still Love Minecraft and what it did on my childhood♥️♥️

Yes you can quit Minecraft. My dad played it a lot a few years back, but quit because he didn't find interest in it after a while. He still hasn't played it in years. He isn't taking a break, he quit. I tried to get him to play but he honestly doesn't like it anymore. He truly quit, and I respect that.
Yea honestly same story for one of my friends. Anytime they did join me and two other friends in minecraft he would just stand in one spot doing nothing, probably watching a video on youtube. He also would preferably play something else over minecraft. Now Honestly my other friends kinda doesn’t like that he doesn’t find interest in minecraft anymore but I completely understand, people grow up and find interest in other things.

Hello I'm pretty old now and I loved playing minecraft I started playing it a lot even before the lock down and one time I did end up taking a break for a year or 2? And then I went back to playing minecraft and I must say even after a massive wave of boredom it's always so fun to just revisit so for everyone out there that may be on a break take your time cause minecraft will feel so much better when you come back
Also the 1.20 update is adding a LOT of new features to the game. It’s just that they aren’t showing them all at once. The new snapshot more than doubled the amount of stuff originally revealed, and there is more still coming. People are just impatient smh..

Even after all the features for the new update was revealed, it still doesn’t add enough to the game. Think about what caves and cliffs did, changed how our worlds looked, how we explore, there was ancient freaking cities added.

Damn i still remember the 2016 days where most of us were just kids and just having the time of our lives
From the moment I was introduced to Minecraft, (I was, like, 5 or 6 at the time, maybe even younger) it was my favorite game. I stuck with it, even during the span of the Dark Ages of Minecraft. (When nobody played it for a few years) I never even knew it was unpopular until after the comeback, and I didn't know why until later. I only ever played Pocket Edition, and therefore don't have as much nostalgia of playing with friends as others may have, but I will still remain faithful to Minecraft, even if the Dark Ages repeat, and watch as both the game and fanbase grows and develops, even during the long waits and lackluster updates.
I think another reason for bedrock players if they're quitting is because Bedrock you need Minecoins to get mods and for Java their apparently free.

All they have to do with the updates is add more dungeons and some minecraft dungeon stuff cause they made somany things for minecraft dungeons but non of it in the real game like the plant creatures would be great for jungle and I would love to see More mobs cause no matter what you do the world seems sorta empty on mobs especially since we have only the same 4 base night mobs other than endermen and phantom and they have been avoiding a easy solution just make a update based on what the players want like there are tons of really good mobs and I've yet to see any of them attempted to be added you don't have to like but plz comment a mob dungeon or item you d want to see in minecraft

1: the texture update changed the whole feel of the game, a good amount of textures were massively downgraded from their original
2: since 1.12, the game was much less optimized, causing server lag and making modding even harder
3: modding support, after 1.7.10, the modding support has become much worse, and after 1.12, it became even worse than that, servers arent given enough resources to make unique experiences
4: the feel of the updates has shifted from notch's ideals since 1.7.10, the new updates should have been 1 big update that takes 3 years, rather than 3 mid updates, they have taken away the indie game feel, and replaced it with a soulless corporative feel

The fourth part is not everyone can afford high spec to mid spec device in order to play minecraft due to massive updates. Some people keep using outdated devices which prevents them to play minecraft with ease (mobile).

Honestly I cant play minecraft by myself now a days. It doesn't feel like it used to be in the good old days. For me minecraft is only fun when I play with my friends, but they also don't feel like playing minecraft. Another thing is that once ypu beat the game, you just don't know what to do anymore. It's the same with terraria. Once you know where thing and beaten the game, it's not fun anymore. I miss the good old days... 😮💨
Tbh one reason is OG UA-camrs don't play it that often such as DanTDM when he played with his friends on mods such as crazy craft pulling alot of players to get this game
