His wrestling looked to be on point nonetheless. That said, I can't imagine having hair partially obscure your vision at times is a competitive advantage. He probably should braid it and put it in a pony tail. He probably doesn't want to do that because it's not a very manly look. If that's the case, he should just shave it.

Valencia overwhelms these heavier weight classes with his speed quickness. He still wrestles like a 103 ,112 pounder like when he dominates California state championships. These heavier guys aren’t use to a big guy still using his lightweight moves. That’s why you see a lot of good light weights on a hs team being able to beat their heavier teammates 5 weight classes up

I didn’t recognize Zahid at first. Had to look at the flag at the beginning and rewind a few times to make sure that’s him 😂.
I preach it to my kids ALL THE TIME! Stay on that guys head. wear him down and slow him down for the rest of the match. Notice when Valencia stopped attacking and pulling on the head the Iranian started to pick up his offense? Its not a coincidence folks. That's What putting in the work attacking the head can do. It just did it to a 3 time word champ. SO NO EXCUSES!

I have never seen a wrestler screw with his hair as much as Valencia. Big time stud, but that hair falling in your face cannot help your wrestling.
it seems that enovations in freestyle wrestling is being invented by most american wrestlers, and that is they go too many times on hands and knees for a snap. they stay there crawling toward the opponent's leg for a leg tackle. usually american wrestlers' main, if not the only, technique they rely on is leg takedowns. and to achieve that they are ready to do anything, like insisting on repeated attempts to grabbing the guy's leg/legs while staying down there in hands and knees. this is so new and inappropriate. wrestling is not only about winning. it is also about sportsmanship and chivalrousness. going on your knees is a sign of weakness. the referees should not allow too many times of going on your hands & knees. if needed the wrestling rules should be revised, because it is sort of unconstitutional. it sounds so ridiculous and unchivalrous of the world federation to accept it lawful to escape the mat repeatedly while you are on your knees.
