“Tomorrow we WILL be hot again.” Lol. Best quote ever. ❤
Best ever!!
My go-to item is a black cotton A-line dress. I travel with it for business and holiday. I will say this about underdressing: I feel okay with it when it means not buying something new to accommodate a single event.
Nothing beats an all black layered look with bold jewelry! That is my always go-to hero anytime look that I always feel cool and chic in 🖤
My go-to is also black, but an on the body black turtleneck and a textured black skirt, with black stocks and low boots. And I wear it with asymmetrical pearls and a trench
I also love being overdressed rather then underdressed! I would feel miserable if I didn’t give enough effort and appeared on the event where everyone else is dressed up.
Great video! 🥂🥰
I don't need help with this😬
Must be so hard to be you, David🙄
Well, you can do a video on “How to Master the Cool Videographer Style.” 😜
not everyone is born with flawless hot-boy genes and an unprecedented sense of style daaavid.
Not everyone is born with big blue diamond eyes and million dollar smile like you David ;)
Cheeky!
Hi, Jenny. You have been through a number of looks over the years but you have owned every single one of them. I think ultimately it’s a matter of confidence.
The sleek bun is also my go-to hairstyle when I need to pull together an outfit and my hair feels greasy or too dry! I usually use a hair donut underneath to give it some body. Also, many of my shirts & dresses have "drama sleeves" as my boyfriend calls them. Drama sleeves can elevate casual to fancy. Love the videos, Jenny, looking forward to your novel!
Bold sleeves for the win! 😍 My dream sewing list is basically just crazy dramatic sleeves + ideas for how to make my coats/sweaters accommodate them.
@@lauralafountain9499 Good point! Coat sleeves can definitely pinch in certain drama sleeves uncomfortably. Lately, I've been thinking about getting into sewing (more than just tiny repairs/alterations). That's awesome that you've been making your own clothing! 👏
My Italian fashionista mother used to say ( even at 86 yrs old) -“There is nothing such as being overdressed dahling!” ❤😊
My yellow sweater always makes me feel better, I find colour really affects my mental state
i was smiling the whole video 😍 love the tips and the booster of confidence to be yourself
Love this video !!! Thank you for the tips 🙌🏻
The first one having a good pair of shoes is a must and can work I think for everyone 🤗 mine is black dr Martens 1460, they goes with everything I own . I love the combo dr martens / smart pants or cute dress to give it rock and roll vibes.
One item that always cheers me up is a marigold dress that fits me like a gloves and a green tartan scarf/shawl I can draped myself in even at work 💚
I love your versatility, you can pull off so many looks! If I were to chose my favourite hair style on you, it would be the chin short bob. 🤩
This soft look on you feels very fresh!
thank you lovely !!!
I always feel good when I wear my cognac brown high-ish heeled ankle boots. I got a pair which walk really good and I instantly feel more feminine and confident when I wear them. Also I love shorter jackets over a t-shirt or a blouse. And I have a couple of vintage subtle flowery tops which are one of a kind and suit my personality.
My pick-me-up items are lots of black mascara, and a blazer (usually navy) with a large cloth flower or brooch pinned on the lapel or pocket for some extra cheer.
My go-to hair is a high bun because pulling my hair up doubles as a natural face lift 🤣
The sleek hairstyles and buns look so good on you. I have great outfit days when I have freshly washed hair open, and bad days when I need to tie my hair because it is not washed that morning.
My go-to hairdo is a high bun (braided or not). I feel like I look more polished.

It is always soooooooo good to watch your videos!
Very informative, inspiring, and entertaining.
totally agree! and thank you sooo much for the kindness
I have a shoe collection for certain occasions. But day-to-day, yeah you are spot on. A few go-tos. And thank you for making black look good. I love all-black but sometimes wonder if it's too severe, but love it. . .etc
beret hat is my go to it saves me on every bad hair day, instantly makes me feel elite and chick 🐥
Thanks Jenny Mustard!
For days when getting ready sounds super hard, but I have to go out and be around people or get a lot done I choose one of my couple favorite dresses, side clip if the hair is semiclean or a bun if less so or flat. It's automatic with no need to match anything, similar to the all black look, but without the need to accessorize.
For events where I don't know the dress code I tend to go for a black dress + bold lip + a necklace. I grab a fancier + a simple one or scarf. Then I put on the one I think is right + pack the other in my purse 🤣 if I feel super out of place a quick dart into the bathroom solves it + half the time I haven't even taken my jacket off yet so no one is the wiser 😎
This video is break glass content - a road map for the unsure - it can be dark (like a kitchen remodel, lol) thanks for speaking to it Jenny!
If it's 10% underdressed or 10% overdressed, I'd like to be overdressed. If it's 40% overdressed, I'm uncomfortable. Like not only too nice clothing but also too made up hair and jewelry..😩
I agree with these tips overall, but to add; make sure you're go to style elements are comfy and stretch a little here and there. If your body is bloated, the last thing you want is tight clothing, so to have at least one pair of pants that are big and stretchy enough for any day and a softer flexible bra is a life saver. Sometimes I'm so bloated I'm nauseous but I could have something I can't skip, so comfy clothes is a must.
I only have the traditional style DrMartens for winter and it's been kinda scary and interesting. Apparently Martens do keep toes warm even in -25C, if you have big enough pair to fit wool socks in and change the insoles for wool ones. Honestly surprised. I threw out my three old pairs of winter shoes that were all slightly broken and or in bad condition and I was afraid I needed to get warmer pair mid winter, but I haven't! Also got those shoe ice pikes with elastic straps that you can use with any shoes and no slipping either!
But for summer I need something, I don't want to wear Martens 365 days a year! Even my all black running shoes are breaking on me 😅 Thinking about those Vivaias.. 🤔
I so long for your book to be available on the US, I can’t wait to have it!
Also, I absolutely adore your approach to style, mental health and elegance, I’ve learned how to empower my own sense by taking so many of your tips and I’ve also developed this urge to live purposely: enjoy every single detail as I create it for myself. Saludos desde Tijuana!
Btw we need your thoughts on monogamy… so many polyamory content but non about happy full filed monogamous people
It's my first time leaving a comment even though I always get inspired by your video 😁
For me my hero outfit is black blazer both oversized and cropped matching with oversized, fitted trousers and long pleats skirt. Bit colorful eyeshadow works and a pair of platform loafer. I always feel confident and satisfied with my look whenever I go out with them whether it's professional or dressy occasions😊
I didnt thought about them that deeply why I'm fond to that clothes but your video kinda answered that ! Tack and hejhej!
My issue is my glasses. I've only had to wear them all the time now for a few years, and I just don't feel cool in them. Perhaps I haven't found the right ones that suit me yet.. but I'm so used to the pre-glasses version of my face! I do have contacts but I can't wear them every day. Gah. One day I'll get there. Good video Jenny.
You do sophistication so well.
I love your black belt with 'BRAND' written on it at 8.20 - may i ask what brand it is and where you got it? :) I love my Rombauts too
the older i get the more i realize that a go-to hairstyle is actually really needed
lol was the bathroom video at 4:52 in the bathroom of the Institute of Directors in London? I have taken many a tipsy selfie in those mirrors after a long work day and a few drinks hahaha
Thanks for your videos I enjoy them very much. I like your tips in style.
Knee-high boots for me and long coats for me!
You're so awesome, great content, I love it. Hi from Los Angeles 🇺🇸
Love your makeup look ❤️
As a woman I feel observed and unsafe with red lips. Lots of unwanted stares and gestures. Even though I love to put on red lipstick I can’t leave my home like that because of these experiences. 💔 I wish I was strong enough to feel safe in it.
me too
My outfit when I feel down is an all jeans outfit 😊
Can you do the same for Summer?
All black, cinched waist, hoop earrings, mascara
loved this!
Love the video idea! May I ask where beautiful white knit is from (the one at the beginning with speck of purple/orange) ❤
These are very helpful tips! The only thing I can’t do is wear a huge coat in the summer:/
I adore the sweater you wear in this video!! What brand is it?
Love the overdressed feeling
nice video !
Vad har du för storlek på den beiga nomadbasic trenchen?
Great video though!
Cannot find your book in usa?
I LOVE my cats but I never look chic because of the cat hairs. Doesn't matter how much I clean the hairs, they are everywhere.
I used to wear so much black + lace, but it got much harder when I added a cat to my 250ft^2 studio, even harder when my partner moved in, bringing a second fur ball 🤣 we have lint rollers + they can work wonders right before you step out, but for everyday I can't try with it unless it's too bad. The lace I haven't found a great work around for.
I'm also a shoe monogamist! How do you keep yours nice? Is it just a matter of getting good quality shoes and then it's easy?
Idk if these will be helpful but my tips:
1. Wipe your shoes often, especially if in winter your roads are covered in salt or sand. I always give my shoes a quick wipe before whenever I go to the washroom with the paper towel I used to dry my hands
2. Shoe taps and getting your shoes resoled when needed. Your cobbler should have some taps you can buy to prevent the wear of the sole, and can probably advise you better on what to look for in a good shoe
3. End of season cleaning and nourishing routine. I own a pair of leather boots so I 100% need to go in with leather conditioner, but I would search up the care routine suitable for what you want to get
4. Ask a cobbler what to look for in a shoe, if there's anyone who would know, it's them. Bad quality shoes can be fixed so easily anyways so there's no detriment for them to help you out
I know this sounds like a lot but it's honestly not bad and you can get so much wear from your shoes, especially with the second tip. Hope this helps
@@ah57588 Thank you! I'd never heard of shoe taps before then realised I've actually received some of these with other shoes in the past but never used them. Will have to look into it!
Thank you👌🏻❤️
Hey some links not working like Prada headband and Rombaut low top boots
❤❤❤. May I ask where the hoops are from in the eyeliner look? I’ve been looking for these for years ha
I love being overdressed ❤ its just me 😊
Sound advice
Certainly, I don’t know why we always think it’s bad to be better dressed than the rest.
"hormony" aaahhahaha😂 that's a great way to put it! It's so cool that you don't wear a bra. It looks so much more relaxed, confident and free..I can't do it, to traumatized by men as a teenage girl. It makes me happy to see that young women are not wearing this stupid unhealthy thing anymore. Not all of course, some need one but some just don't!
But when do you start to look good?
