  • Glass break detectors are great add-ons to your home security system, or can even be used as a stand alone alarm to help secure your home. They are inexpensive, easy to install, and can deter burglars & home invaders - or scare them off before they go any further after the initial breaking of the glass. Consider adding a glass break alarm to your home defense tools today.

That second option is super inconspicuous! I would've thought it was a sticker or something if I was looking in

Yeah I agree, it doesn't stand out at all. Nice little addition for added home security.

Sir, just curious, I am enjoying your videos and have taken one or two points that you made to heart and incorporated them into my home security. BUT, My question is can you please tell me what that (looks like corrugated steel) contraption outside your window is? I can't decide if it is there as a window "barrier" or a planter or some other decoration. Thank you again for the valuable suggestions, please keep going!

Hey there! Glad you have found some useful things from my videos to incorporate into your home security. The "contraption" you see outside my window is simply a window well for our egress window. I was filming through one of our basement windows.

Once triggered, do these shut off and reset after awhile, like car alarms do? If not, I would think the battery would die, not to mention pets inside the home would have to hear that alarm until the battery dies, or the homeowner returns and turns it off.

Yes, they do. It alarms for 30 seconds, then shuts off and resets.

My downstairs windows and patio doors are on opposite ends of the house. Should both ends have a glass break sensor?

It can depend on a number of factors but without knowing anything other than what you said above, I would say YES you should have glass break sensors covering both ends. I would have at least one covering the windows and another covering the patio doors.

I saw this was posted 1 year ago. How are they holding up? Any false alarms? Battery replacements?

They have done quite well. I have no complaints. The only "false alarms" that I can recall were actually a good thing IMO. For example, I was building some shelves across the room and the hammering set it off. I chalked that up to the alarm doing its job. Have not had to replace any batteries yet, but there is one that I can tell is needing them replaced soon. I test them fairly often so the batteries would last even longer if I wasn't setting them off on purpose. Overall, a great purchase -- especially considering how inexpensive they are to begin with.

It gives onlybalaram to get thief scared. But professional thief knows nobody in the house to caught him so he do not scare at all

That might be true and it might not. No home security item is going to be effective 100% of the time but you don't know if the person breaking into your home will be scared off by this or not. Better to have it just in case. And most of the time someone burglarizing a home isn't a "professional" it's just someone committing a crime of opportunity, and they don't want attention drawn to them so a loud siren very well could send them running.

It also works well to alert whoever may be in the home to be able to neutralize the threat immediately.
