What do you think of their experiences?
bruce was cool as hell. so inspiring to see dudes at that age live life and travel around like that WHILE STILL BEING SINGLE. youth is everything
As always, a wonderful interview, people really like the Philippines,
not only Canadians, the most important thing is the people,
climate, wonderful food, inexpensive housing, inexpensive visa and no problems with its extension.
💯
Hi.Bro..for me my opinion every countries is many poor people but pilipinos is very happy over they are poor,smiling..but in the other countries like Africa,India,Louisiana america many homeless, parts of America..in killings so every countries is not perfect..every countries is many some poor people..in regrets..but here in🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 is even they are poor but happy, smiling, and friendly people with hope .hardworking..✌🏽✌🏽✌🏽❤️❤️❤️🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭..

Kaya hindi na umuunlad ang Pilipinas kasi ang motto ng mga Pilipino ay "Tawanan mo iyong problema" kya nauso ang videoke inuman hapi hapi hanggang sa nging kultura na para makalimutan ang problema. Hnihintay lagi ang bday, New year, Setyembre plang jusko Xmas na ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES tlga😅. Bukas makalawa andyan prin ang problema. Pti sa PISA result kulelat ang mga Pinoys sa buong mundo. Hanggang ngaun wala pang food security. Thank you Vietnam S. South Korea Tsina sa pgbenta ng bigas. Bili ulit kmi sa susunod.Idaan ulit sa ngisi at hapi hapi go with the flow nlng dba😅.
Toothpick na nga lng made in Tsina pa.
Hey buddy I’ve been living here for the last 10 months and I love the people here they are amazing, the food on the other hand is another story lol when I was in Manila or Cebu I didn’t mind the food because they have all the American restaurants chains so I could have what I am use to but once you go and stay in a small province like Iligan City then things change and that’s when your eating the local foods and I’m not a big fan of many dishes but I have found a couple of things to get me through.
The traffic is crazy just like the drivers but over all it’s just so fun and laid-back here so I would recommend the Philippines to anyone who just wants to get away for a vacation or someone looking for an affordable place to retire.
I’m heading back to Alberta next week with my new wife and we’re going to enjoy what Canada has to offer and then make our way back to the Philippines for retirement.
That's awesome!! Glad you are having a great experience and thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences 🇨🇦🥳
Slums ,homeless, and jobless are in every corner of the world even canada and america is not an excemption of that. I guess this guy who's a retired teacher hasn't just gotten to desperate places of where he came from
you more than likely haven't listened to all of what he said for you to even comment this lol
Slum in the philippines is always happy , lively, and fightng and optimistic while homeless people in US are very depress, mentally ill ,hopeless, living in the streets messy. Look at seattle, chicago, california, ny philly are so insane.
Homeless in the Philippines can survive they can work to save money for food not give up 👌👍🇵🇭
Interesting insights from Canadians about the Philippines! Loved the diverse perspectives. Makes me want to visit even more.
Thanks!! Come on over eh!
Great answers by these Canadians Alex a diver and that first guy had a lot of good things to say about the Philippines he was really interesting and he's retired that's great 👍🆒😎
I thought so as well. Thanks for watching and always sharing your thoughts 😊
@@Livingabroadalex You're welcome 😎👍
Very interesting comments from this first guy and his perspective of what Filipinas will do and not do when we arrive there? I don’t know what to believe, are we rock stars or not when we get off the plane??
And who was that random woman that interrupted the video?
Did she want an autograph or to be included the filming of the live video, which she didn’t receive??
@samuelmendoza8585 you're definitely more of a Rockstar than back home
You will get lots of attention but maybe from less quality women. Such as the woman in the video, who is a working woman that is at the mall every day, offering foreigners a massage. Good women don't approach you first. You still have to make the first move and be respectful
@@Livingabroadalex absolutely Alex, I don’t want the woman to approach me, it’s a red flag 🚩, like being at strip club. But it’s nice to see if there is any body language going on from a distance. You see any of that?, oh wait ✋ you can’t do that because of Palm. BTW say 👋 to her
Same uin thailand and vietnam!! Walk out of bangkok and its same as phil!! I saw slums inside bangkok right in the canals of bangkok!! Its very dirty!! Houses made of scrap materials!! Its connected by make shift wooden bridges!! And slums in e railroads of bangkok!! Vietnam has lots of slum areas but the western media dont show it!! They only show the phil slum!! And exaggerate the poverty in phil!!
Yah i notice too there is a vlogger who live in thailand he often go here and his content is always going to poor areas of the phil that vlogger nevèr go to tourist spot i dont understand that vlogger why he want phil to be portrayed as always a third world country dont know what is his motive then when he goes back to thailand his living there actually all praises to thailand and all his content are the beauty of thailand that makes ne think is this blogger wants to make the phi in a bad image
@ahvicremulla544 people like that are the scum of the earth. Exploiting people in a disadvantageous position for views. They rely on shock factor and only attract the lowest type of supporters to a channel.
Poverty porn is popular. Follow that with Pinoy baiting branding the area as the most dangerous in the Phils. Slums are everywhere. But the slums in the Phils sell more to the eyes of the Western audience. Foreign bloggers feel safer in our slums because people can still speak English than in most Southeast Asian slums. The good about Phils underprivileged people is that they are nicer compared to the poor people of the first-world countries. Just my two cents.
@@JunBermz the western media is projecting the phil as one big slum area!! They exaggerate the poverty in the phil!! Which is very inaccurate!! Yes there are slum areas in manila, but not so widespread like what the western medias are portraying it to be!! While the slums in thailand, vietnam,Malaysia, indonesia they don't show
@@ahvicremulla544I also noticed from indonesian and vietnam commentators very rude to Filipinos
Great interview with Bruce. It was a very good interview he really got detailed in a positive way giving some good advice and options. He has that likeable youtube personify that made him interesting to listen to.👍
👏👏
More of the teacher. He’s awesome!
Haha I think he's too honest fir some people in the comments
Watching from Toronto 🇨🇦!
I love watching your video thank u Alex ❤
Thank you so much!! I always appreciate your comments 😊
To all Filipinos out there, pls dont get offended to some things that Bruce said. Western people has a deep sense of space and sometimes they just needed to be alone. So, pls get sensitive to foreigners as they have different culture from ours.
Food quality depends where you go. It's an overdue developing country, leave your first world expectations behind.
Food is better in the Philippines actually. I cannot even find tortang talong in Japan. Laing too.
I just noticed that most people from the USA and Canada, they don't really like Filipino food. When my European friends visited the Philippines, they didn't have this kind of complaint. I really wonder why.
Probably because north America is very multicultural and we've grown up with much spicier food 🤷🏿♂️
There is a reason Filipino restaurant's don't exist in other countries in the west, figure out why....
@@Belv6goggle will show you where filipino restaurant located
Pinoy food is generally triple fried and breaded. A lot of rice. Unusual organ meats etc. No fresh vegetables, no roasting, a lot of sugar. And it's everywhere.
@cryptomando the vegetables here is one of thr biggest surprise to me. Most if it is bitter compare to other countries. Not sure I'd it's the climate or something
Nice one, all Canadian episode! Bruce especially was very interesting and made many valid points.
Valid and controversial for some people I guess
Bruce says a lot and it's absolutely true.. I would say he has a good observation about the good and bad sides of Philippines.. 🙂👍
I agree. I think he enjoys the Philippines overall, and is just saying what's he's personally observed.
@@Livingabroadalex yep! Absolutely 👍
Very friendly and very strong. A good friend companion and loyal to watch your back when in times of trouble👍
Third world is a derogatory word for a developing and NIC emerging economy like the Philippines, and it is not about country’s economy when it was coined. Third world country phrase thrown at the Philippines is a racist context or preconceived notion about the country.
Ayan nanaman tayo ayaw pang tanggapin na Hard Core Third world Country. Kahit Industrialized pa yan pero ang kahirapang ng mga tao ay hindi mo mapakain sa Aso.
I think you have to live in the Philippines for a long time to get a real perspective of a lot of the people. When I first came here as a tourist (with money) and was new to my wife's family (She's Filipino) everybody was very polite and friendly. The more time went by her family became less friendly, in fact now they don't really smile and say hello anymore but that's common for a lot of Filipinos they act the same to their own kind. The only time the family really engages with me is if they want to borrow money lol. Of course, going to the Malls spending your wedge you will always get a positive opinion lol. The housing may be inexpensive compared to the West but things are getting expensive here now!
Sounds like you should draw some boundaries and distance yourself from those people. Enjoy your time with your wife and spoil her instead. Yea things are definitely more expensive even since a year ago.
Thanks for sharing your situation 😊
@@Livingabroadalex LOL, she has been more spoilt than the late Queen of England. For many Filipinos money is king but you can't blame them In the province (where I'm at) no real money or jobs.
@jonrend haha that's good then
Oh yea, that's true
That's the real things, , at first because they are on the get to know time, , in the long it's just normal days life is a constant change, , everyone has own life to face and respect but if there are reunion and occasion on family there is gathering
@@lanieaguisanda6221 I guess that is somewhat true but not greeting someone and acknowledging them with a simple hello is rude. I have too say its not all but certainly the majority.
That's probably the most talkative canadian ive ever seen😅
😅
Agree 😅
Cassy is so pretty and so polite.
Filipino from Australia here.. See you soon Philippines.. Regards 🇵🇭❤️❤️❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺
Have a fun visit!!
more on this interview pls in the philippines i hope u visit siargao and make interviews there
Some lucky Privileged people portrayed poverty negatively 😢... For them its, unpleasant, dirty, annoying and unacceptable to be part of the society🥴... there can be no rich without the poor... They were also humans, not criminals but victims 🤕
Canadians came to the PH has more positive insights as expected.
Definitely! I'm happy you watched the entire video 😊
@@Mary-zd8xo huh?
Bruce is just being brutally honest. He mentioned how he really enjoys here and there are lots of good things about the Philippines! and the people are wonderful etc etc. His overall outlook seemed to be positive. As for the women to interrupt the interview, she's a working girl that is looking for customers.
Hardcore Third World Poverty in most Areas. That hits hard as a Filipino...Truth Hurts but its True. That is something most of our Politicians are Hiding from reality and at the same time the very people that benefits their interest...
Sad, but wealth disparity or uneven distribution is “hardcore” here in our country.
Bruce had visited other countries and there's a comparison which makes sense. His perspective is way different from other interviewee in this video but he's making it real. He's able to tell the good and the downside as a long time visitor. What he noticed with the food, the children begging, the middle age women begging for money at the mall, the comparison between Cebu and Davao are true, he provided his observation in a microscopic way. The woman who interrupted him during the interview might find normal to some Filipinos but not with other race, they'll find it rude. Anyways, its a good shot to upload videos of different foreign people with their perspective, its also an eye opener to some viewers.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts
What city is she from near Vancouver? Alex you should visit Kyle and Bret in their beach house near Davao, they are also both from Vancouver. I see a lot of Canadians stopping by there, I think you can even rent a room there. it would be good for your content.
Thank you for the suggestion. I'll hold off for now. I can remember which city Cassandra is from
You can can stroll through Tondo Manila and most likely live for another day. But here in the West, Canada or U.S. good luck. Those poor people on the streets have mostly drug addiction or mental health problems and you don't really want to deal with these people(getting assaulted). During winter its really hard for the homeless going through shelters for there is no guarantee of safety. And top of that when it gets -40 degree winter you better have warm clothing otherwise you won't make it the next day.
thank you for staying on our country 🇵🇭🇨🇦❤️
Her accent sounds American
(the first interviewee)
A.I. is doing its thing. It associated the retired school teacher and saw a UA-cam suggestion where the teacher was also seen on Filipino Bride channel.
Interesting to know 😊
All i can say is that because they come from western country or have caucasian appearence, thats why they are treated 'friendlier'.
Maybe he's referring to the Badyao kids. They were trained and encouraged to beg in the streets.
She should train with the badjao they are the best natural free diver
I've heard of them. So talented
Researchers have found that Bajau people of South-east Asia appear to have evolved enlarged spleens that may explain their extreme diving skills. They are the best freedivers in the world.
nice interview
Thanks eh!
thank you for loving Phillippines Mabuhay🇨🇦🇵🇭❤️
Absolutely 👍
Bruce was great. Hahah.
Wish the government can do something about the slum areas in the country!!!!! They deserved to live decently.
Davao is the largest City in the Philippines.
Looks like Canada and the Philippines will be exchanging some population soon hahaha 😅

Sir Bruce you should get yourself to manila theres a lot of restaurant you will enjoy food. Try more but goid food has a price tag.
Great advice. Although I have to be honest, there's good food everywhere if ypu look hard enough
@8:04 absolutely true.
Hello,
Every countries there are poor one’s, good and bad, you just have to be aware, with some filipinos, most of them are better, they have manners, kind, polite, generous, caring,
Just be careful with some girls who would only be after with money from foreigners, Everyone has common sense,
I have watch some videos of Raffy Tulfo in Action that some Filipina ladies scam foreigners are seeking help from Senator Raffy Tulfo.
It is so embarrassing that Filipinas would fool them They need to know the person very well before dating those ladies, Especially some would request to ask help to financially help there families, Foreigners who comes to visit the Philippines wants to date Filipina ladies should know them very well. Than using them.
What???? Are you kidding me???I’m here in Canada but I think the food here is too lousy compared to the foods in the Philippines. Maybe you are just eating in a low class restaurant.
And it's funny that he is complaining about Italian food here. This is Asia. You can't expect authentic Italian food just anywhere. As for cakes, he should try Mary Grace if he wants quality.
im inlove with cassandra 😍😍😍😍
canadians speak their mind besides being kind.they are real peopl, they dont do fake talk to please people..i guess thats the reason why indians flock canada besides jobs and money, canadians are real kind, they are unlike other europeans who are mean and look down to other people of color, atleast canadians try to be kind and treat other races as equal
Oh is that so? I’ve been living and working here for 20 years lol! Every country has some shit going on! That guy talks too much and fails to address the shit in his own backyard .
which crazy person would stay now in canada , its so super expensive , comparing where you at you living like a king ! ......
😊❤❤❤🎉
1:57 shes very pretty
The reason why they are getting "unhealthy" foods is because they are eating their meal in fast foods. Filipino eat in restaurants for snacks only. The meal is either at their home of carinderia. Spaghetti, salad, is just a snack in the Philippines.
Can you make a video on how to extend visa in the philippines?
This retired guy from Canada leaves his home country to retire to another country then complains about the country he is visiting is the epitome of Western people. If it's so bad why don't you go back to your country that is so great? You are a guest so act like a guest, I hope you get treated as one where ever you go. Some retirees or digital nomads appreciate the locals, don't act like this guy.
Truth is uncomfortable but it's the truth. Once you get out of thr IT Park, Ayala Business Park it's pretty much shacks and slums with substandard infrastructures.
@@antonioespanol2123 tbts the true philippines you must adapt at the environment ,dont always have 5 star hotel vibe.thats totally bs. Living at you in comfort zone its not remarkable to say the best full story of your life. Just like foreigners long time veteran expats communicate and blend like locals .thats trully remarkable than living and retire here like "feeling tourist" in a long term is boring af.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
😊🥳🇨🇦
It would be exciting to see her dive with the Badjao people..! 😅
pls tell her about it .. just for fun …!😀
Philadelphia more poverty in kessington ave. people living in the street because of drugs and also in california near in hollywood homeless people living in a tent and new york subway is dirty…
its hot and humid here in canada too.
Not to this level. Not to this extent, and for this long.
I’m in Cebu now. I’ve heard and read so many comments about how nice the people are in the Philippines. I’ve found that’s absolutely not the case from my personal experience. They’re no more friendly or unwelcoming than any other country I’ve been to. A lot of people won’t even look at me in the eye when I’m shopping or ordering food etc.
To be honest I think a lot of people online saying how friendly everyone is in The Philippines are white. I see overweight bald, older white men that would be considered losers in the US all with young, often attractive Filipinas. I’m multiracial, and frankly I don’t think I fit the version of white that Filipinos treat kindly. At best I feel they’re neutral towards me and even sometimes resentful or noticeably unfriendly.
Yeah it’s great that English is so widely spoken. On the downside the food is really not good for someone used to western or even East Asian cuisine. I thought I’d stay here a long time, but I’m already looking forward to returning to Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, etc.
Yeah you better go. Philippines doesnt need you too.
I agree with you. Having a striking features is the one that appeals to the eyes of majority of the Filipinos. Not necessarily white people all the time but definitely they have an advantage. Some tall dark men, individuals with cute dimples, and people with noticeable eyelashes are usually will make Filipinos turn their heads on.
Maybe you just have bad vibes. Why don't you try to talk to them and ask questions. But the food is absolutely horrible.
Not the case with you, that's fair. But it's the case with a lot of foreigners.
@@rexmascarina2169 ANY COUNTRY is not for everybody. We use our choice, we need to please ourselves.
It's true you only get the picture but you will never get the taste unless you go to the five star casino. Or you eat real Filipino foods .
Why is there a middle-aged-looking white guy at 10:04 randomly walking around with a walker? 😂
Haha it's a wheelchair. Might be for someone else
why you didn’t take video of that lady interrupting the conversation!?
I did lol
I just didn't show her face because I want sure she'd want the world to know she's a prostitute
I have to disagree, I was in cebu for 3 months and went out with women all the time. They want to meet, they are shy but you just talk or use tinder and you have date.
🍺!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'!!🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Be careful about fishing be more vigilant about ladies your grown man am sure you know when it's time for a red flags.
I understand now why that guy in black is single 🤓.
Maraming foreign vloggers dito sa pilipinas na kanyang tanong.parang nakakairita pakingan.
If you're gonna criticize me, the least tou can do is say it in a language that I understand.
Maybe instead of being so negative. You can focus on the dozens of positive things the people on this video and channel say about the Philippines
White haired dude, let me take you to a REAL Italian restaurant in Cebu City. Clearly you’re eating at the wrong places
Let us all go to Iran not Philippines.
Iran is a beautiful place with some of the best food in the world
with inflation happening in Canada, third world status is knocking on the door.
That's a bit of a stretch, but yea inglation is obsurd in Canada
Thats why middle class people are flying and the other half are waiting to get poor then poorer and poorer.hehehe.thats the reality. That why canada loves so much immigrants just to fill in the voidslol.
Better be prepared if you give money or foods to kids because when you give one there will be hundreds of them coming
So why would a foreigner being disgusted by Philippines, people, food... has come back 3 times at least? There are other countries you can't be stressed. Mind your well being.🤔
Who's disgusted by those things? Did you watch the video? There's also Tagalog subtittles if that helps you understand their point of view better
@@Livingabroadalex the one in the black shirt.. who don't like our food, who cares lol. Kids running after him for money, as if more dirtier kids from other parts of the globe never do anything like that? And.. not only filipinas know how to flirt, if he's disgusted with that, then he should know better not to have a hard life and stop coming back😁
@pingyu5141 he never said he was disgusted. He was sharing his experiences. And the women proved his point as she interrupted our interview. I suggest you focus on all the positive he said, especially about your nature, and wonderful people. Every country has good and bad. Even Canada, our own country, that's why we're here. The positive heavily outweigh the inconveniences or whatever. 😊
@@Livingabroadalex haha it's me who thinks he's disgusted. But ok i'd take it his not.. just that we try to be good to foreigners but if they can't realize that, then the heck we care.. right? Lol.
@pingyu5141 oh for sure. I agree. But I spoke to him extensively. He seems to really be enjoying his time here and the people. I wouldn't read too much into it. He means we'll and I'll vouch for him 😁
