So I just tried this Pikachu out for funsies in training mode and I stayed in that mode for like 2 hours . Jesus, this pika boy is fun. Feels much better than Smash 4 for me.
Same, I never really got into this game before even though I have the Wii U version. However I decided to put some time into this one and give it a real chance and now I'm hooked, this video helps a lot for someone like me who is learning.
Guys, I need some help understanding this video. What does it mean when Esam says that Pikachu's back air autocancels out of a short hop? Like, what's autocanceling?
@@felixpoggio8694 sorry to Coppy paste like this But---Auto-canceling is the act of landing during the beginning or ending frames of an aerial attack, thereby circumventing the landing lagthat would have occurred had the character instead landed during the middle of that attack's animation. Auto-canceling an attack produces no more landing lag than a regular landing from an ordinary jump (of which the landing lag tends to be around 4-6 frames, a very short amount of time), whereas landing during the middle of an aerial attack almost always results in a significant delay before the character can act (raise a shield, jump, dodge, etc.) again. Most aerial attacks can be auto-cancelled during both the first few frames and the last few frames of the attack's animation; however, some attacks cannot be auto-cancelled at the start, at the end, or even at all. Each individual aerial attack for every character has a specific auto-cancelling window (or lack thereof) that must be memorized and practiced. Auto-canceling can be very beneficial to players using characters with laggy aerial attacks, as this can reduce the amount of landing lag produced, and create more time for the character to act, potentially avoiding being punished during the move's landing lag. Precise auto-canceling of aerials is also frequently needed for performing followups and combos, so as to leave less time for the opponent to react and escape.

Pikachu been my main since Nintendo 64 Smash Bros. I am no pro though. Just really love pikachu as a character. I always thought they should have added Raichu.
The last Smash game, I was considering picking up Pikachu, but I never really went with it. Everyone agrees it's good this game, so I figured I'd try it again. Pikachu's very fun, but I'm not very good with it, and I wanted to learn more. I was on ZeRo's channel, and the closest thing I coud find was one on Pichu, so I decided to just look for one on some other channel, and I found this. "Oh, ESAM, the guy who defined competitive Pikachu in Smash 4. He might know a little bit about how to play this character."
One of the few tricks that seems to work on alot on players is to immediately forward smash when they charge straight at you, and then fire off another forward smash immediately. They try to approach and take advantage of the end lag underestimating tgunderbolt's speed.
Had to re-watch after Esams Post-lockdown glitch win against MkLeo. It's been a pleasure watching him grow into such a powerful player. Is it wrong to be proud of someone you don't know personally?
As somebody who secondary mains Pikachu, I thank you for this. And I agree with you 100%. Pikachu has always been a good character across all the games. But Ultimate is easily the best version. Pikachu is one of, if not, THE best characters in Ultimate. He's got a great balance of power, combo potential, and just about everything else. Heck, even Pichu is great in Ultimate, not as good as Pikachu, but still.
Has anybody else noticed that the Pikachu from smash bros is unusually enormous for a pikachu?

Super smash bros ultimate really makes you feel like pikachu
Watching this video makes me realize how little I actually know about the game. I don't even know where to start.
Drag-down forward-air has a weak hitbox good for starting combos. Same with neutral-air.
But Which Buttons Do You Use
With default controls, B does specials, and A does jab, tilts, smash, and aerials. Is that what you were wondering?
Parker king Thanks For This But, I’m Wondering How To Do All The Moves With Buttons On Switch
I like doing up throw when they’re at a lower percent and then use thunder. It’s fun 😂
Why dose pikachus up b remind me of tracer from overwatch
Does*
you have no idea how long I have been searching how to do that up b THANK YOUUU
True GAMERS play Pichu instead.
Luke M yes
Pichu is Pikachu but suicidal
I want to main pichu but I have to unlock him, by the time, I'll go pikachu instead
I tried maining him but I just cant play as him since his weight is so extremly light.
Pichu stinks
Pikachu been my main since Nintendo 64 Smash Bros. I am no pro though. Just really love pikachu as a character. I always thought they should have added Raichu.
Pika is disgusting in this game lol
In a good way or bad way?
@@Solomon0424 Haha, idk. He's super fun, but broken at the same time.
@@dantemarinucci8765 True. :)
@@Solomon0424 :P
Unpopular opinion, but i think hes worse in this game. I'm disappointed.
Very comprehensive Pika guide considering it's only Part 1!
This is the knowledge we need! Can we get a movement/combo guide?
With a music like that you can tell he is really happy about this
The last Smash game, I was considering picking up Pikachu, but I never really went with it.
Should add a controller on the bottom left or right if the screen
Hello. I'm new to this channel. I'm also a Pikachu Main, so I feel right at home with your channel, dude.
One of the few tricks that seems to work on alot on players is to immediately forward smash when they charge straight at you, and then fire off another forward smash immediately. They try to approach and take advantage of the end lag underestimating tgunderbolt's speed.
Great video! Looking forward to more videos about Pikachu :D
Nice I wish I could find one of these for every character haha
Great video, love seeing your content! Miss you bro!
I was waiting for this!☺️☺️
Had to re-watch after Esams Post-lockdown glitch win against MkLeo.
