I think I figured out why I love crafting/cosplay videos so much. My Grandpa and dad made me watch so much Bob Villa and This old House on PBS as a kid and I never got the appeal. This is my version of Bob Villa or TOH. Great video!
Y'all are one of those channels that is just like 100% positivity and inspiration, and I love how you guys work together and share the joy of the project. Makes me and my heart happy. :)
So glad you like the videos!
Bloody fantastic! I love Satisfactory 🤞
It's such a fun game!
My little brain couldn't even begin to conceive of the design let alone implement it. Crazy mad skills! Yall are one the most skilled artists I've seen ever
Thank you!
Coming back to rewatch now that I'm addicted to the game
I. Cannot. Wait. LOVE Satisfactory, and it's so cool to see such overlap with some of my favorite makers. :)
The game is soooo good!
This is a bit of a tangent, but THANK YOU SO MUCH for your two second indication of the hand masking tool. I am working on a project that requires tons of repetitive masking and now I have the perfect tool for the job. This will save me many rolls of tape and many hours of tedious masking.
Yay! Love that fresh new video smell.
Smells great!
::waves:: So happy to see you guys here again!
I love your enthusiasm and the purity of your joy. Thank you for sharing it with us!
You're welcome. Thanks for watching! =D
For the Tamiya clear red, you want to spray a coat of metallic, let it dry, then spray a coat with the clear color. Less coat for lighter color, heavier coats for brighter but still very metallic color. I used this for my Samus and it came out amazing!
Nice, good to know!
I love all your videos and I’ll watch them every time you upload a video but I got to say you are the reason I started making with foam and I would be lying if I said I don’t miss you making with foam. But no matter what, you inspire us all!
I miss foam builds too, but always good to see another Props vid to watch
Foam is really amazing, isn't it?
15:00 Not a graphic designer, but long ago I worked at a print shop. This is how old school graphic designers would create logos and such. Tiny little pieces of paper/vinyl, arranged by hand. Then it would be photographed and printed.
Holy crap! Was worried they stopped Making! At least making UA-cam stuff. Glad to see more stuff!
It's good to have new stuff.
0:40 I didn't even need to hear what the kickstarter was about. As soon as I heard there was one, I was there.
Also, I call it the Hogulus Beast. Invader Zim 💜
Nice! :D
The Weird Al drop!!! I love it
Gotta dare to be stupid. =D
It’s been a while :) it’s good to see yall!
Happy to be here! =D
@@punishedprops :D
Another amazing prop build! Thanks so much guys!
Love seeing the Diresta drivers, and a Kampf "Let Glue Dry" bar, inside a Brian Brushwood pint glass.
Gotta support all my maker friends.
Don't think I've been this early on one of your videos. In the middle of making something myself so this is the motivation to keep going. Look amazing so far and just at the painting stage!
Yeah! Build the thing! =D
I got mine. What would be really nice is a wall mount like in the drop pod.
Fantastic work! It is always incredible to work on something from a subject you love!
These videos are actually the best!
So glad you like them!
Your Mando helmet build is what started it all for me! Keep it up!
Even with 726,000 subscribers you guys always make me feel like I'm the only subscriber. Never change the way you do your videos. Ever. I always look forward to them
So glad you're still watching! ❤
So freakin awesome. The game looks so fun, it's on top of my wishlist!
It’s such a delight whenever you upload. It looks so real
Thank you!
We need MOOOOREEEEEE Videos. You have been missed.
We're already working on the next one! =)
OMG I LOVE THIS GAME, nice to see you make props of it
Isn't it an amazing game??
I have been playing this game way too much. This is EXCELLENT! Well done.
Yes! One of us. One of us. Thanks Forby! =D
I feel like there was a missed opportunity during final assembly of the gun. You could have called it "Project Assembly", but it wouldn't have changed how awesome the build gun came out! You guys rocked this project! Thanks for sharing 🤓
You're most welcome!
I can't for the life of me remember where that quote "Hands like a surgeon!" comes from lol
For flathead screws, my favorite screwdrivers are the Wera kraftform drivers with the “lasertip”. They laser etched a pattern on the tips to help reduce slipping.
Oh wow, what a great idea!
Very satisfactory indeed!
Glad to see another video from you guys!!
Thanks!
Ooh. Just backed this! Can't wait for those files! Looked like you had a lot of fun with this build.
I'm so stoked they're offering the 3D print files!
Love seeing you guys geek out over a prop for a game you actually play!
It makes it super easy to get excited about the build.
Turned out quite cool!
Thanks so much!
I watched you talk about this one on patreon, ive been excited for the build video.
You Didn't disappoint.
Thanks
You're welcome!
I needed this today. Thanks!
You're welcome!
Always a fun video watching you two make stuff!
Thank you!
Just imagine how funny it would be if you could’ve put like a surgeon behind a montage or something :)
Oh, it was tempting.
Satisfactory is the first game I’ve really gotten sucked into. I’m just passed about 105 or so hours into it. I REALLY want to see a working, collapsible factory cart 😃
Ooh I would love to build a factory cart!
Since it is a prototype I would’ve put standoffs for all the screw positions. This way you could take it apart multiple times and put it all back together without stripping out your threads in the soft resin.
That's a great idea.
Yay bin patiently waiting for the new video. Loved it. Can’t wait for the next one.😮
I'm crazy excited about the next video!
What a great build (as always from you two).
16:31 Inside studio Easter Egg? Hm. Well, if you look at the code combination, is spells 'Salt'.
Maybe that has meaning?
What a wonderful episode. So great to see another one from you both up on YT.
I haven't seen one for a while.
You brightened my day. Thank you. 😁🤗
Be Excellent and Party on. 🤘🎸😎🌈
Party on! =D
I wonder if it has anything to do with the phrase "salt the earth"
I love your channel! Thank you for all the joyful building content. I have several builds I want to do now.
You’re welcome!
Honestly, I think the final version should use magnets for the battery cover..
Also that thumbstick isn't from a controller, it looks like an electromagnet based thumbstick or something that doesnt suffer from Stick Drift.
This is so cool! After your costume build video I was thinking of how cool it would be to make some of the tools as well, so I have immediately back the Kickstarter and look forward to making my own :)
I need all the Satisfactory things!
i love this so much. its strange i think satisfactory is one of the only games that i have an incredible amount of love and joy for but no desire to play myself. i love watching lets plays on youtube tho people come up with such creative builds. i dont think i have the brain power to wrangle the math involved in properly utilizing resources and all the machines myself haha. i would love to do a pioneer cosplay like you guys have some day, maybe this kit will be a part of that!
Our pioneer costumes are some of my favorites. Surprisingly comfortable.
Excellent video guys, and such a great job with the build :) fist bumps from James @ Heroic Replicas
Thanks James! =D
😱😱😱😱😱😱 a new video . Is it Christmas already
Cool
Are we gonna get a 12 Props of Fixmas this year? Also this prop looks like the world’s best fidget toy.
It is SUPER fun to fidget with the build tool.
Project is ok I guess. Weird Al reference gets the like.
Here at Punished Props we dare to be stupid 🎵
I fell asleep, and woke up with this video playing - and at first, for some reason, I thought you were up-cycling a digital camera to make it diagetic, to fit into the universe you were going to cosplay....
...didntntake long to figure what you were actually doing, but I figured it sounded like an actually interesting idea, so thought I'd mention it.
Ha! Thanks for sharing. =)
Somehow you two manage to do the host-bantering-with-the-offscreen-voice shtick so it's not annoying. Mostly I hate it when channels go that way, but in your case hearing from Britt more (and seeing her onscreen too) adds a lot to the videos.
ame la pistola de construcción, sus trabajos son muy geniales 💖
gracias!
It would be cool to turn that thing into a game controller so turning the pot does something in-game
Is she standing on a box or is she just that much taller than him
She’s a tall one!
seems that knob could of been modded for a dimmer switch or on off function. its a nice prop
I was thinking of a project Idea you might like to do. To save money on materials for expensive electronics to put on a prop. How about a How To on making non working buttons, switches, knobs, levers that can click switch turn whatever. For example, using a clicker pen for a button or, a spring, bb & bottle cap with ridges cut or glued inside to make a clicking knob. Even a potentiometer can be portrayed as a cap, lathed dowel rod & a spring to give it tension.
That's a really fun idea!
We love your videos at our place, but it seems foreveeeer between vids...lucky we can go back in time for some build inspiration. Keep it up Brit & Bill
Thanks so much!
heated under porch paintbooth when? 😂 Great Video!
Sure would be nice if it was heated! HA! =D
The Easter eggs hidden in the decals are words at least. The decal numbers spells SALT (54L-T), just like it spells ALPHA (41PH1) on the other. SALT being the Satisfactory Layout Tool! 16:35
Cool stuff. I don't know the game, but it looks fun. I just built an enclosure for my Photon, I just need to get a good heater and hook up the ventilation. Finally! I've had it with print fails, and I have been needing to keep the fumes out of the house.
You should do Dr Strange now :)
That's one hell of a cape...
Our resin printer being a little cold this winter has been a pain, for sure. Glad you're taking the steps to get your Photon sorted!
Maybe Britt could be the cape 😆
@@punishedprops LOL!!
Did you see Adam's Strange costume? Too much detail embroidery.... man
man 400 plus for a kit? wow man
Great vid, You should try satisfactory with mods. The Satisfactory plus mod gives it the feel of a full new game.
I bet there's a whole world of possibilities with mods.
@@punishedprops Yes and I think you 2 will enjoy it.
Did I hear that potentiometer click? If it did, you could've used that as a power switch. I'm pretty sure you can bypass the wiper, but if not it may have worked as a dimmer?
If the potentiometer were replaced with a rotary switch, it could have been used for on/off function.
If that joystick is fit with switches, you can use it to switch the LED's on and off.
That would really neat if we could pull it off.
Curious about the purpose of an oversized prototype. Wouldn't you want your prototype to fit all the standard components like the potentiometer and LED board just like it would in the final version?
yo wassup ive been watching for a while and i luv what you guys do so much ! and i would love to see if you can make garnets gloves from steven universe ! ?
much luv good luck
There is no getting sick of Satisfactory.. there is too much freedom in style of play to get bored. Thousands of hours in game atm and the ONLY game I play at this point.
YES! There's just SO MUCH GAME!
OMG where can I get a Ficsit lanyard? 😮
dude, i would kill for one of those. i literally posted a video about satisfactory like yesterday LMAO
SO exciting!!
I dunno why ALL spray cans don't come with the big fat Tamiya spray nozzle!? Is so much easier to spray with!
Agreed!
What and amazing build! Good job guys! I'm sonsidering buying the files on their kickstarter but I have one question, how can i get all the decals and stickers?
Thanks!
I'm not sure what their plan is for the decals and stickers.
Hey so I noticed that at 12:24 you talk about using an exacto-knife to clean up the tape. How do you cut through the tape with out damaging the paint beneath it?
Also how do you do multiple tape pieces without it stacking up and inadvertently covering the sides of the piece?
How did you make the stickers
Hi!, have you thought about incorporating electronics into this prop to make a USB controller for gaming? I made one using a repainted toy gun and a custom electronic board to play FPS game.
That's a really great idea!
it looks so damn good, the model and the paint job is just perfect. only thing is that i think it's ust a bit too big? atleast looked like it was, but otherwise so great
Thanks so much! Heroic Replicas said the production run will be smaller.
why didn't you turn the 'cosmetic' potentiometer into the on off switch?
Which color laser printer are you running? Haven't been happy with graphics printing on mine
It’s and older Brother laser printer. We’ve also had trouble with the print quality. It’s like the rollers rub on the freshly printed paper.
I see the option for buying the STLs, but what about the electronics? I much prefer to build stuff myself, but it doesn't seem like they have the hardware available anywhere? It's a dang shame Heroic Props isn't making it possible to do a true build it yourself. :( I supported their last kickstarter, which already felt overpriced, and this one is even more expensive. Yike.
So .. how many assemblers can I build with this thing before the batteries need replacing?
Hahaa! *slaps the roof* You can make SO MANY assemblers with this thing!
Is the rotary tool you use brushless (the motor that is)?
I'm not sure if it's brushless or not. This is the tool I use: www.foredom.net/product/k-2272-general-applications/
are there no Torx screws in the future? haha man i havent seen those type of screws for years and years
Boy, torx screws would have been suuuuper handy! HAHA!
I picked up a few sizes of the slot drivers that expand to grip the inside of the slot (after seeing them on James May’s Reassembler). They make using slotted screws suck _less,_ at least.
What Laser printer are you using to print your stickers ?
It's an older Brother laser printer. It works alright.
Is there anywhere I can get the files sorry I can't watch the video my internet is playing up
The kickstarter has an option to buy the 3D print files.
I wonder if there's any kind of thin Plasti-Dip like spray you could use for the grip....
That's such a great idea!
Ahhhhhhhhh Maaaaaaaan.......IT DOESN'T GO PEW, PEW, PEW......
54L-T = sal-t. :D
Bahahaha!
@@punishedprops btw, every machine has a word joke like that in SF
Could you not have used the potentiometer to turn it on and off?
I bet, with a little effort, that would have been possible.
@@punishedprops From my guitar wiring experience. Very little effort at all. Though it is easier with a potentiometer that is either push/pull or a switch style on that clicks into position rather than rotating.
But its presumably long gone by now. Still an amazing build. Looking forward to seeing when you next do a cosplay of it and all the new additions you'll have made.
:)
I know I'm drink in bed, but can you make a ghost trap?
Here's how I made my ghost trap: ua-cam.com/video/YSFk37MEUYc/v-deo.html
@@punishedprops you never go to bed drunk and wake up to a hero granting inebriated me's wishes
The only way this would be better is if it controlled the tool in the game...
54L-T? SALT? You know, from the tears of players as they struggle to optimize their factories...
Yeah that checks out.
I wonder what the difference is between a binding barrel and a Chicago screw, let's see what Google says...
Top result: Wikipedia article on *sex bolts*
...Oh 😆
They are not paying you for this work? I would charge for your time.
We wanted to help out for free :)
@@punishedprops I hope they return your generosity in the future then.
