  • Indigenous communities play a vital role as custodians of our planet, possessing vital knowledge that will support global efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). But despite progress to protect their rights, many of the world’s 370 million indigenous peoples face discrimination and threats to their livelihoods and ancestral lands.

“Indigenous communities, peoples and nations are those which, having a historical continuity with pre-invasion and pre-colonial societies that developed on their territories, consider themselves distinct from other sectors of the societies now prevailing on those territories, or parts of them. They form at present non-dominant sectors of society and are determined to preserve, develop and transmit to future generations their ancestral territories, and their ethnic identity, as the basis of their continued existence as peoples, in accordance with their own cultural patterns, social institutions, and legal system."

What if indigenous culture doesn't support LGBT culture, what are you going to do going to act like Christian missionaries and forcibly convert them?

that's the for individuals to make... if there is a indigenous LGBT person then their rights have to be upheld.

What nonsense. All people are native to the Earth, wherever they roam. This is insulting to many, and a completely subjective topic.

when the first nations came from england they trained the natives to be civilised and now everyone lives together in peace so we should all rally together and thank the Queen for all her good work
