This is the real Jimi Hendrix fans favourite piece. Jimi was tapped into the Universe when he wrote it and it still is years ahead of its time. Fabulous cover; it must have taken hours to transcribe as this sounds like it was taken from the studio version therefor transcribed by ear. For those of us who believe Jimi was not of this earth Pali Gap surely proves it.
Well Cryered. Like ..."the real Jimi Hendrix fans"... My most listened to song, soon to become my most seen replica. But then all of Jimi's music is universal.
I only discovered Rainbow Bridge this month after thinking Jimi has 3 albums my whole life... Pali Gap is just amazing. You get 2 Jimi Hendrix at once and there's something so special about this song. It's just pure Hendrix guitar bliss with no fat. I think it's one of his best and most underrated pieces.
I’ve always known the Hendrix was amazing but seeing Greg play Jimi’s songs makes me realize that Jimi was even better than I could’ve possibly imagined.
@@tzon6802 even crazier is that he started guitar at 15 so when Are you experienced was released it was only his 10th year playing guitar, being that good in 10 year while being self taught is crazy
I agree with you totally. It's so modified my thinking of Jimi to see how his hands may have skated the neck. Jimi becomes even more impressive when I watch these videos by Greg.if that's even possible. What a talent, I really miss Jimi. Not ashamed to say it, sometimes it just hurts a lot. And Jimi's MIND that thought up all this stuff. Damn.
I have listened to Jimi's version of this ever since it was released in 1971, when I was 21 years old. . I know every note of that tune. . . THIS is the most FAITHFUL reproduction of that classic track I have ever heard in my entire life. . WELL DONE! I applaud you and your playing talent to be able to make this magical tune come to life before my old tired eyes. .
I've been waiting for so many years to hear and see an accurate cover of this track by Jimi. It'll forever be my favourite song of all time. The intricacy of this cover is amazing. I applaud you and thank you. Long live Jimi's music ❤
My band used to do this song so many years ago, I remember how long it took to get all the chords synchronized with the leads, so you have my total respect doing this
Its been a year since you last posted. Pali gap is one of the coolest jam Hendrix ever did. Thanks that you are still with us. Great work as always! what else can i say.? Just thank you very much for your videos and your love to the unique musician the Earth ever had. I hope one day the world will know you.

Thank you Greg. You're giving the world access to free top quality Jimi Hendrix covers like I never saw before. This is a big contribution to music and culture, thanks again man :)
This must have taken so much time and dedication to get it this right. This is a thing to behold. I’d say you’re probably the only person in the world who has got to this level of perfection with this great song
I just have to comment again what a beautiful rendition you captured the spirit and essence of Hendrix , every time I hear you play this I love it more! Thanks Greg🎉
I don't know if Jimi's intention was that, but the sound at the beginning of this song sounds like seagulls, which gives even more the impression of a tropical sound. Great job dude!
Greg you are the best guitar player who covers Jimi Hendrix songs full stop there is none better keep playing keep his music alive just wish i could do it great job thanks
It always amazes me when learning Hendrix solos to see how much he accentuates the changes with 3rds and roots. He had to be doing it deliberately and must have started building his technique on this very early to make it come out so naturally and in such unexpected ways. Amazing job as always, Greg! Thank you!

My favourite Jimi's instrumental. Have been waiting for years for someone to cover this masterpiece! Incredible job. Please, do "Born under bad sign" next!

Listening to this song once again sends chills down my spine! I bought my first Hendrix album in '71, Rainbow Bridge, which contained this song. Pali Gap is the one song I always dreamed of learning to play on my guitar for the annual talent show at school. Never was good enough though, not even close.
That is the best rendition of Pali Gap I have heard, it is almost as good as Hendrix, but Hendrix's dynamics are uncanny. Thank you for that effort, I'm saving this to my videos!

Thank you. This song is still ahead of its time. Had an older brother so I've got introduced to Hendrix and that era of music very early. I started playing guitar to this day, I'm 46 now and Hendrix is something I always came back to, unique sound and feel. Not many people have ever tried to capture this song, only a few nailed it. You play it EXACTLY as Jimi did in the studio, you even nailed that Leslie effect and the tone, everything, it gave me goosebumps. I've always had issues with this song, in my head I know almost note for note how it goes but when I play I miss some parts, I'm having a hard time remembering everything right.
Fantastic man.....truly. your playing, the great audio, split screen for visuals, I loved every minute x ......my favorite Hendrix song covered par excellence x
Thanks so much, Greg! You have helped me learn so many Hendrix tunes. I'll definitely check out your website! and thank you so much for doing some lesser-known Hendrix songs, not just the common ones from his studio albums
Genius playing, how you dissected and played so brilliantly is beyond, thank you for playing my favourite song, and showing me how it was actually created....
The thing for me is that so many guitarists can play note for note - but it sounds empty. Technically proficient for sure but zero on soul. Greg provides proficiency as a given and the music is filled with soul I can explain it no other way I am sure you know what I mean and what I am trying to say
This is by far my favorite Hendrix song…I never tire of hearing it. Furthermore it bridges the gap to what would later become the foundation for the Funkadelic sound (just my opinion…totally not fact)
Pretty sweet Greg! We would do acid Tuesday nights back in high school and watch Rainbow Bridge over and over. This was always one of my favorite Hendrix songs.
Amazing. I remember buying Hendrix sheet music for Pali gap in the 70's which was a treble clef melody line, piano bass and first position guitar chord diagrams above. Hopeless. Wish I'd had this great video then!

I’ve always known the Hendrix was amazing but seeing Greg play Jimi’s songs makes me realize that Jimi was even better than I could’ve possibly imagined.
So much emotion, he was self taught and his professional career with ‘the experience’ was only four years. Mind blowing
