Speedrun without the invincibility glitch. Big improvement from the previous run. Lost 40 seconds on Death Worm + other smaller mistakes. Run can be improved but getting a good time relies a lot on late-game rng. Especially on chapter 12 boss fights.
I miss the last split by 2 seconds because of skipped finishing animation against Archfiend.
nice job, with speed run and the WR. I'm happy to see that ninja gaiden is still alive to others. Wish they'd announce Ninja Gaiden 4, or "Ninja Gaiden Remake."

They recently announced that they’re putting out a Trilogy version for PS4 and Switch lol. Hopefully it sells well so they can fund a NG4 on the new generation!

@@Ro-fw3lc it’s not that bad, i honestly think mentor is worst because every fighting segment has a different wave of enemies meaning you constantly have to adjust. MN is just IS ninjas

I'm glad to see more people running this game. I'm decently familiar with NGB, but I've only completed NG2 once. Luckily it's on Game Pass in the USA so I'm playing through it again and decided to look up some speedrun runs strats and found this run. I'm looking forward to learning more.

I love NG2's combat but it gets so frustrating. I bet it's a lot of fun to speedrun because you get the amazing combat and you can take out a lot of the frustrating parts with optimized strategy and combat.
Sigma 2 removes almost all the incendiary kunai spam and lowers the enemy count, while raising their health. This makes the game much less chaotic. I'd still choose the original, but sigma 2 did have some decent changes.
@@NidokingOtsutsuki Ninja Gaiden games all feel like that to me, little sense of satisfaction, skill-honing, and more about masochism, artificial difficulty, that's why I am so glad they made Nioh, which is better than NG in almost every way

Once you see all the game resumed in almost 2 hours all you can think is "holy shit, that's a lot of enemies".
My thought was "woah, you really kill a lot of people in this.."

Ninja Gaiden 2 was more like an arcade action game in disguise as an action adventure game now that I think about it. Many of that is due to the chaotically fun gameplay; Ninja Gaiden 1 felt more like an action adventure game in my opinion. The execution animation in this game was so satisfying to watch as it was a fresh new gameplay addition.

I like to think this speed run is lore accurate as Ryu would likely not waste his time with all the underlings, optimally speeding right to the bosses and clapping them as fast as possible
I'm gonna be that guy. Ryu absolutely kills every fiend in the area. He slaughters every single one.

At 1:01:15 and like for chapter 11 at 1:21:42 Can't you use the glitch to get untargettable? On the small menu by going on another weapon and pressing a+b at the same time? So you don't have to kill enemies

😮 Awesome job man!! To this day I think I've raged harder to this game than anything else, EVER. Still have never completed the whole thing. Maybe its time to revisit soon, as its a great game after all. I was only 14 when it came out so maybe I have a chance now lol

The slowdowns are because is not well optimized.
It runs perfectly on the new xbox series x and in 4k I've got them both. 60fps no drops at all..100%
hi i have an xbox 360 and i have og ninja gaiden 2. I finish the game in path of the warrior and path of the acolyte. I unlock the red and the type 20 costumes.( i found all crystal skull) But you have many costumes. How do i unlock them? (i dont have xbox live)
You have to pay for them but they are cheap, probably bcs koei tecmo was money hungry at that time
After seeing this vid I wanna play Ninja Gaiden again, one of my personal favorites even if it was insanely hard lol great run

Outstanding run, but wow did NG2 vanilla have its issues. The overuse of throwing weapons from enemies to over flooding of ninjas. Sigma wasn’t perfect but it sure did fix a lot of the crap you had to deal with
I mean the game literally plays you as the ultimate ninja himself, what would you expect? treat you like a baby and taking good care of you like the other action game where the enemies are practice dummy whilst the attack interval takes too long and wondering around like they are not there to kill you? The enemy in this games are ninja/assasin/demons and you expect to caress you like a child? They're there to kill you if you didn't know and not for some fancy design npc or whatever. Just go back to your childsplay game. Why would you even search up the vanilla version of 2 in youtube.

I think I beat this game but god damn was it infuriating especially that boss where you needed to block AFTER killing it. As I never experienced that sort of feature before I was raging for an hour because i didn't think I could block a fucking bomb exploding my face

2 is great I collect 360 and have all three. Sigma 2 takes the blood out😩..adds more boss encounters like fighting the Statue of Liberty before Alexis you fight some Budda statue twice I think before that. You have to fight two Archfiends at the same time I believe towards the very end more encounters with those..good job..let's see if I can do it😁

You really are that kind of game journalist where you expect game sequels are the same and no uniqueness to it's mechanics at all, and then when the sequel is released and it's very different to it's predeccesor, you'd talking trash on it like it was not a good changes nor adding more combat mechanics. Ng3 is a different story. Ng3 is the real "not good" in the series (yaiba is not a ninja gaiden, more like a trash spinoff). That game was a try hard focusing in story even tho it's not great at all, and the cinematics are just adding stretch because it only had 8 missions. You can have your opinion on ninja gaiden ii, but you're that 10% of the fanbase, majority of ninja gaiden fans like ii, even more than black. So shove it up because you really are just another wannabe player.

@@dceasedbrickfan74 black is masterpiece 100% true, but to call ngii a "not great" sequel bc it's not your preference like how the game had many changes of combat and adding annoying enemies, I mean, itagaki intended the design of ii as the nes version where the enemies are everywhere and mildly cheap. Still a great game for it's own. I get that you like black more, it's more slower and less intense, but for me, ii is a good sequel bc of how many mechanics added into it like ot and new ninpos and weapons like talons and kasuri-gama, feels like you're an unstoppable force when you play it. Well I misjudged you as a "wannabe ng player", sorry for that. It's great to be top 100 in ninja gaiden. In the end of the day, it's night.
