Outstanding! I knew about the enemy despawns but never about the area skipping glitches except the Aqua capital one. I do love that you can THEORETICALLY run away from 90% of the fights, it's just near impossible with IS ninjas or dogs spamming you every step of the way.
Now this is the sort of thing I love randomly getting recommended. Very interesting that Normal difficulty's world record (on the back compat remaster) is an hour and a half faster than this record. Ninja Gaiden 2 really is like that, huh? I recognize some of these strats from the segmented hitless challenge, which is... _telling_ in a speedrun context. 21:40 A clip performed while pursued by a teleporting enemy is so Ninja Gaiden 2 it hurts.
Ninja gaiden 2 in master ninja difficulty is very buggy and enemies are extremely random, plus a ridiculous camera that always try to either zoom in on Ryu's ass or into the heaven. Any little accident can get you into the YOU DIED screen. And speed runners have to choose even riskier strats to get faster. I can't believe you've done it I'm speechless
Yeah that's true, incendiary shurikens is fucked as well, but I enjoy doing MN fun runs, NG is my chilshood after all Ps : in NG Sigma 2, most grabs one-shots you on max difficulty lol
Assuming you can play the game without getting a migraine. 2 is so fast that keeping up, at least on higher, gives me consistent headaches. Even then, the game gets buggy near the end on normal difficulty.

This game is a masterpiece. When this game released I hated it because it was linear and too different from NGB, but now that there aren't many good games I regret doing it. NG2 is amazing in its own right. I wish we had more Ninja Gaiden games.
speedruns are where you complete as fast as possible using whatever methods are allowed. It would be pretty dumb to 'play it for real' if it means beating some sections or bosses slower. Go watch a video of someone getting top rank on all the levels if thats what you want to see. Speed runs are about... speed.

I've beaten this on Master Ninja. Always felt like Mentor was harder for some reason. Maybe I just got better by Master Ninja. Either way, this is an impressive video. I think I died hundreds of times.
definetly some parts feel easier, especially chapter 3 and 4, on mentor they gave you the flying van gelfs but on master ninja its the normal ones, but master ninja is still harder because the spec ops ninjas are a joke compared to IS and fire bow ninjas

yep haha. casting a ninpo here and there helps with IS shuriken spam. also gives a better framerate on xbox360
