    I added the Rav4 mirrors on my 2017 TRD-OR and they have the heating elements in both the main mirror and the blind spot section. Part number 87961-0R220 for Left and 87931-0R210 for right. Don't know if the fact I am in Canada makes a difference having them heated.

      Yes it does. He just got the basic one without the defroster option thinking they all are same.

      And now that Jim just provided the right part number, I’ll make sure to order them . 😉 Thank you!

    Watched this video again this morning and the side mirror glass is a SICK mod I’ve never even heard of before!! The only part I don’t like and is holding me back from doing this on my 21’ TRD ORP is that they aren’t defrost glass and I have to have that lol good stuff brother!!
    God bless~

      You got it!!
      Yeah it’s pretty cool, but hot to have the defrost.

    Suma performance has mirrors that are the bomb. Anyone with a 4 Runner know about the blind spots, these mirror Eliminate all the blind spots and it’s one sold mirror. If you tow anything these mirror are what you want. Had them for 5 years on my 16 4Runner and I think it’s the best mod I made out of the $10k I put in this rig.

      Wow, just went to their site. I’m glad I did.
      That’s totally an upgrade right there. Will order soon as their not sold out! Thank you for the tip.

    Wow! How crazy is this video today! 😃. I literally just put the same D-rings on my 4RUNNER TRD OFF-ROAD yesterday! I ran into the same issue on how loose they are and the tiny rubber washers they provided which are useless! I spent a good part of today going to Tractor Supply, Home Depot, Lowes, looking for some sort of a rubber dounut ring washers large enough to fit in between the bolts like you did! I temporarily put the 4 rubber washers split on each side and ran a couple loops of electrical tape around it to hold them in place. The blk plastic piece that's on the D-ring is not very tight as well and only clipped on. I ran a loop of electrical tape around the center of it so it doesn't fall off. (The smile shape piece) I put the trailer hitch one on the rear too. My truck is blk so I picked lime green which looks good too! I also took my supper glue and glued that blk piece on the edges to prevent it from falling office! If it dries good I may take the tape off. You really can't see the tape so it won't matter if I left it on. I have only had my 4runner for 3 weeks now and found your channel a few days ago. I thought it was so strange to turn on UA-cam here in Michigan this afternoon and the first video was yours adding the D- rings! I am already seeing a few heads turn with other jeeps, and 4Runner's checking them out as I pass them. I just added a 2" spacer on my front end only which leveled mine to a perfect height! I was thinking of a 3" lift but I saw a video of a guy who explained everything else I would need!!😳🥴... 5 new large tires! One will be a spare! Bigger jack. Spare won't fit under so a new rear bumper & tire sling! Bigger control arms! Gas mileage drops in the 14's.mpg. More wear on bearings! I won't be able to tow my boat as he said he can't make it up hill with his now! He even had more than this which was enough for me to choose just a 2" leveling spacer. It cost me $600 to have it installed with 4 wheel alignment, and 4 tires balanced. My front & rear are the same height now and it's plenty high even if I choose to go to a 275/70/17. I have a all season 265/75/17 which gives it a more off road tire look than just street tires. Mine is the Premier TRD OFF ROAD that came with the leather looking seats & moon roof & heated seats. I'm a Gm guy so this is my first Toyota I have owned. I lease 3, 2022 Gm cars now for my wife & two sons to drive as I get the GM discount. I usually buy myself a newer used larger SUV. but I'm not happy with all the issues GM has with transmission problems & lifters sticking in model year's I like so I did some research and these 4 runners really hold some high marks of being reliable and holding their value really strong!!!. My wife & two sons mouth dropped when I pulled in the drive with it!😅. They seem to like it as do I so far! I did the things you suggested on getting better gas mileage yesterday too. After I cleaned the throttle body and aired up all the tires 4 psi more than the suggested psi.. My idle which I checked prior to cleaning dropped without disconnecting the negative side of the battery so I skipped that part as my rpm's dropped right away without doing this. I only took the clamp off and was able to pull the hose off without removing the whole air box. Now getting it back on was a little harder 🙆but I got it. Thanks for that video! I plan on watching more of your video's and some older ones as I have only watched 3 so far! Good Job! Greg G.

      Greg welcome to the Channel! I appreciate you watching and subscribing!
      Lots of useful information already shared, and much more still to come. Yeah those rubber washers that come with those shackles are quite frankly a joke. Im glad you were able to come up with a solution.
      And yes Welcome to the Toyota world, where your car will rust away before your transmission or engine goes. Super reliable vehicles! 🤟🏻

      @@gregtracigoetz3646 I don't think those front tie down points are rated as recovery points. Be careful doing kinetic rope recoveries with them. That piece can shear and turn the shackle into a missile. there are bolt on recovery points available for serious recovery use.

    Its also good to wire those shackles closed, they could be deadly if they rattle loose on the highway.

    • @VikingsGarage
      @VikingsGarage  Рік тому

      Never actually thought they would come loose.
      (That’s why the screw portion is facing up)

    The location where you attached the tow shackles are tie down anchor points for towing and shipping. They are NOT rated for winching/off road recovery… Also the Rav 4 mirrors I replaced the stock 4Runner ones with have the heating function w/ element connections.

    • @VikingsGarage
      @VikingsGarage  Рік тому +1

      Im very much aware, those shackles are there currently for looks. But thank you.

      Just wanted anyone going to do serious off-roading to know about tie down point limitations. RAV4 mirror parts #’s 87961-OR220(left), 87931-OR210(right). Use 1 of those zip ties through the hole in the pin of the shackles and secure it to the shackle so it doesn't vibrate loose. Don't tighten the pin too tight or you'll have a hard time getting it off by hand.

      @VikingsGarage  Рік тому +2

      Noted!!

    • @KendrasEdge757

      Anti-seize works phenomenally well here too, but instead of zip ties which dry out over time, use some braided wire like some d-rings come with.

    For eliminating blind spots, aim your mirrors a little further away from the body of the truck.
    For everything else, put the money in a college fund for the Little Viking!

    Hey there is blind spot monitor in mirrors of 2022 4runner models now. So I think there might be a way to swap those into your old 4runner. Can you look into it and let us know ? Thx

    • @VikingsGarage
      @VikingsGarage  Рік тому

      Blind spot monitor is so much more then just the mirror. You need the wiring sensors and the pcm for that system. It’s one of those things if you have from stock good if not it’s to complicated to install .
