Thanks for the recipe. I was leery, but gave it a try on the stove-top. Not a cabbage fan, so I served it with scalloped potatoes. I also cooked a slice of red onion in the broth, and when finished added the onion into a pan with mushroom caps and cooked them in the broth as well. The plate was topped off with fresh asparagus and served with a nice Guinness.
It was a hearty meal filled with Yum.

I didn't have quite 10 hours and I had absolutely no time to stand over a stove. So, I threw caution to the wind and stuck everything into the crockpot for about 6.5 hours. I gotta say...this turned out wonderful. Veggies were a bit soft, but they also soaked up the juices and were just delectable. The crockpot was pretty forgiving. Great video!

I was just looking for a simple recipe my wife is not Irish ☘️ so after all these years heck with it, I’ll just make it up for myself. I’ve got some Guinness in the fridge ( non alcohol Guinness it’s new on the market , my drinking days are over 🥴☘️☘️ 🍻)
And a open container of beef stock. I’ll rinse my corned beef after removal from the package and give the spice packet a added kick with a fresh bay leaf off my tree and some mustard seeds and pepper corns. Hey quick question? What’s everyone put on their corn beef and cabbage I was raised in an Irish Italian household my dad was Irish and I remember him always putting oil and vinegar and smashing it together I don’t believe he ever put mustard on it.
      Nice chatting with yas

    Thank you for the recipe!
My one question: When adding the vegetables, you say to do it once the meat is tender. Is that typically after the meat has cooked on simmer for 2.5-3 hours? Or is the 2.5-3 hours more of a full cook time, and the vegetables should be added 45-75 minutes into the cook time?
I imagine either way it'll turn out similar, but at the same time, I'd like to follow the recipe as closely as I can. This'll be my very first time cooking corned beef and cabbage! :)
