If it had any other name than ZELDA on the cover, it would be a stand-alone beloved classic. It was just such a departure in style from the original that some fans rejected it. It is a well-made, challenging, and important part of the Zelda franchise.
This is like SMB2 US for me, I liked it as a kid and I like it today despite what everyone that is born after the PS2 came out say about it. Every kid that I knew back when it came out loved this game, all the hate came later.
I got it when it came out and loved it then. Playing through on switch years later was fun too because you could rewind and have save states. To me, it is very nostalgic. Not the best game but still very good.
Let me know what you think of Zelda II in the comments.

Pretty much yes. I like how the Nerd put it. A standard wasn't made yet.

Interesting how that works doesn't it? I personally think SMB2 is the best of the original trilogy, but I know I'm the unpopular opinion on that one.
I liked it enough to beat it twice.
You're a pro :D
I absolutely detested this game when i was a kid
So did I to tell the truth.
Great game. Too hard for 6 year old me. Still loved it then, more now
@@ChiefGore429 I appreciate it a lot more today than back then.
One of these days, I will play through the entire game just to say I did it.
@@SekiroOnSwitch Same here.

@@AlexVonCrank My older brother had it on his NES but wouldn't let me play it. I didn't get to play this entry till the GameCube collection.
@tjsreviews-c4q some of those old games only had one save profile, so he probably didn't want you to mess up his save.
@@AlexVonCrank Probably. The reason I remember is because the game was gold and he didn't want me touching it.
