Graham do you think that black lug should be gutted or not? I don't know why this is done but I prefer the guts to be left in the worm for extra scent it seems to make no difference for freezing point of view!!!
totally awful fishing show, dieing of laughter before the video has even started, love the viking shelter, coming along really well, dustin is just awesome too, love seeing you guys cracking on with these videos 👍
Kevin Ballard I’m pretty sure they gut them when they freeze them for some reason, I’m on the south coast and never had fresh lug, I’m not 100% on that
When you can’t wait to go fishing for sea bass off the rocks here in cork harbor but the elements are not right- the next best thing is watch the legendary totally awesome fishing show. Love it.
Graeme you are totally HARD CORE my man. How many OAPs would tough this out, not many. Your one of the very few who live for fishing. More power to your elbow as the Irish say !
I dont care who has the best or worst fishing channel, but i know that this is the only channel that imma look. Simple, cheap and easy... no fancy not needed crap.
The name of the impurities floating on top of the molten lead is "slag." I'd recommend spooning that film out and tossing it away before you do your mold pours. You've put me in a mind to make my own weights, I keep loosing expensive ones in the rocks fishing the Mississippi river. Cheers!
This brings back memories of my dad and myself we used to make these weights for going boat fishing for maceral and cod etc of the Ayrshire coast. But we mostly done fresh water fly fishing for salmon trout etc but did have a few fun days on the old boats
Good one Graeme done what you done in that weather good bass few fish top man in that weather cheers mate still good video thanks for that all your time
Did the same thing last weekend Graeme. Fished between the snow showers and only one fish the whole session between four of us, but it was magic. Keep it up Graeme
been watching all your clips Graeme and picking up on all your tips. And i got the courage to answer an add in the paper for A HANDYMAN. so went for the interview. The boss asked. can you lay bricks. i replied NO! how about electrics!! i said NO!! carpentry then!!! I replied, Sorry can't do. He got a bit angry and said I THOUGHT YOU WHERE HANDY!!!!!! i said i am !!!! i live around the corner!!!!!
Totally love your channel. I'm a fisherman too. I live in Alaska where there's great fishing but I would love to chance to fish in the UK. I was a student in the UK but never had the opportunity to fish. Anyway, best of luck. Keep the videos coming - I watch every single one with my daughter. Blessings to you and yours.
down on preston beach in feb? madness! . but interesting to see a bass or two down there, it used to fish well with a good onshore blow and slipper limpet if i remember correctly
Great video Graeme! I have a question about your 1 up/1 down rig... How on earth do they NOT tangle? The same with a flapper rig really. I can never really work out how to stop them getting tangled in the cast.
When you come down to dorset again to go fishing try either seatown which is quite rocky but good for rays and bass or maybe try west bexington or Abbotsbury (the beach at Abbotsbury) they're all usually quite good. Really enjoyed this episode graeme 🐟. Theres also a tackle shop at west bay which is probably the closest tackle shop; it has most bait and tackle.
Had it fitted when I had the boat rigged out. It's been very strong for a small chair .I think it was King's Marine at Chertsey that sourced it ,but I guess there are loads online. No name on it that I can see.
Just watched your short session on Preston beach. Very good. Its an interesting beach. I always enjoy fishing it. Mind you I only live just behind it. Might see you there some time.
Thanks Graeme, Sound ideas, I'm on to that DIY breakaway leads as I'm fed up of feeding lead weights to the River Mersey and to tackle shops for leads. I've got some scrap aluminium in the garage and I'm off to see if the local scrap merchant will do a straight swop for some lead which will make the weights even cheaper.
With them lead cones Graeme you could make back leads for your carp fishing you would have to put a snap swivel on some how but that will work you cast out clip the lead on let it slide down the line a bit and it keeps everything nailed down to the lake bed 😉
Mate, I'm gonna sneak a suitcase so it gets washed ashore under your rods. It'll be full of bags of 'flour' and a alarm clock wrapped up in duct tape with a coundown timer running down on its display. Then right at the bottom of the case will be a TA Fishing hat! Hahahaaaa!
Love your vlogs as you tell it as it is and you are a true character who is very watchable, look forward to more vlogs, also where abouts is this beach as i fancy having a bash here sometime as im only 2 hours from weymouth. cheers.
I haven't done any sea fishing since I was a kid on holiday so haven't been in a seaside tackle shop for years, I'm really curious, what does it cost to buy a single impact grip lead nowadays???The yellow ones seem to be the ones that get used most often, I think are they 6oz?? I can imagine doing regular sessions on snaggy areas of the coast could be a fairly expensive hobby if you just buy your leads like most blokes do.That isn't even thinking about lost hooks, swivels, line and other bits of end tackle.
I think they might be 2-50 a weight in some places.Depends how heavy. It generally works out that you come out with extra weight but it's balanced because your wallet will be that much lighter !
Graham, rig looks like it might be a Portsmouth loop, pompay rig. Got a few names. on the bottom snood looks like there might be a cascade swivel? couldn't see it to clearly. If it is (might be wrong mate) both snood can be clipped down for casting. Not trying to tell you how to suck eggs mate but have a Google.. 🍺
Preston Beach is a lovely venue and as you say you're not humping your stuff over those sodding shingle banks on Chesil, I don't often blank but blanked 2 days ago on the Stone pier and I tried EVERYTHING but the kitchen sink
Planning a pilgrimage to Chesil from Manchester in April ! Would love any advice from anyone who knows on the baits to use at that time of year , and what might be out there ... ?
Many thanks as always..... very interesting. I hope you got your burger on your way home and I hope the parking attendant got.........well you know the rest.
Get yourself up to Whitley bay, tynemouth. Some nice big cod if your lucky but if you like the rock ends and the pier shots you'll do ok. If all fails get yourself into Newcastle for a night out plenty dirty kippers 😜😝🤪
Hi you are right about some of the best fishing is in Wales, but lately for a number of years now the mackerel have become so scarce last summer I went with out even catching one. I have a small boat as well as fishing from the shore. I think we have gone beyond the point of conservation. I am going to get flamed for saying this, I think we should start dispatching dog fish as they far out number any other species out there.
Help support the channel with some SMITH! Merchandise: taofficial.com/collections/smith

Graeme you are totally HARD CORE my man. How many OAPs would tough this out, not many. Your one of the very few who live for fishing. More power to your elbow as the Irish say !
Just found this channel, love this guy and he's a real character
I dont care who has the best or worst fishing channel, but i know that this is the only channel that imma look. Simple, cheap and easy... no fancy not needed crap.
Very good!!!
Have a nice weekend fishermen !
yesss another sea fishing vid
Friday night is TAF night. Good man Graeme for toughing it out. Can't catch 'em if you're sitting at home in front of the fire (like me).
Excellent Graeme
That feeling you get when the blank is saved. The look on your face says it all. Nice work Graham :)
The word for oxides floating on your molten lead is "DROSS".Love your channel, easily the best fishing video's on U tube
Making lead weights wow this brings back some memories especially the elastic band grip leads. Getting lead pipe used to be pretty easy in the 70s.
The lead making was simply ingenious!
Good one Graeme done what you done in that weather good bass few fish top man in that weather cheers mate still good video thanks for that all your time

Always love watching your videos and learning. I'm saving for a spring/summer collection of lures. I can taste the fresh fish already.
Did the same thing last weekend Graeme. Fished between the snow showers and only one fish the whole session between four of us, but it was magic. Keep it up Graeme

Great video, just subscribed. Nice looking bass!
Nice video Graeme 👍 & luv the Smith hoody 😄
Graeme, I love your videos, but one question, what long term effect does your expendable lead weights have on the environment?
Good Bivy, talk about a rocky beach that must be a hike getting to the water, l love your show l wish l was out there doing some fishing.
Hello from the states. Very good content here, I just subscribed

Hi Graeme where did you get your captains chair for your boat ? Cheers Chris
Had it fitted when I had the boat rigged out. It's been very strong for a small chair .I think it was King's Marine at Chertsey that sourced it ,but I guess there are loads online. No name on it that I can see.

I'm a sculptor Greame,in the bronze casting world the waste is called "slag".oh my profile pic is my St.bede :)
Do you catch bass all year round Graham
You certainly can,but I don't seem to able to.
Lol like a Swiss Army knife. Except you got Swiss Army cutlery :-P
great tip to use Copper pipe as a mould
Your an inspiration
Have you ever use bacon as a bait for sea fishing?
It does work from the boat, but I used the fatty strip not the meat.
@@TAFishing would it work from shore instead having lugworm?
No pain, no gain.
Why are bass still around? its february
Graham,
rig looks like it might be a Portsmouth loop, pompay rig. Got a few names.
on the bottom snood looks like there might be a cascade swivel? couldn't see it to clearly.
If it is (might be wrong mate) both snood can be clipped down for casting.
