Its been a shocker this past winter,so much wind and rain .I think I'm going to leave the beach fishing for a couple of weeks until it settles,then head West to the Bristol Channel.

Another great video Graeme. Barton and Hurst are tough. I live at Barton and have had some good fish from there, but its best fished at night. Hurst fishes better at one end on a flood and the other end on the ebb, but I expect you know this already. Next time you're down this way give me a shout (I'll send you an FB message) and we'll pop along to Loni's, my local tackle shop and have a chat with Garry about the local fishing. Maybe do some filming as well. Oh and get yourself a Rode wireless Go and a smartlav+ they're great, I'll bring mine along for you to try first. Take care.

Another great video, how you kept your cool with people who don't control their dogs is remarkable, beautifully filmed with the sound of the sea as background "music". Can't wait to get out there end of March. The hot dogs looked perfectly cooked. The pike fishing looked great (am I going to regret giving up coarse fishing)? From the videos I've seen this year on sea fishing in particular with regard to the South Coast it has in general got very patchy. Lets hope our current government manages to push on brexit and we take back control of our waters and we can regulate to sustain/improve our fish stocks.
Its the beach fishing that seems tough as we are missing the Cod & Codling which was our main winter fish 30/40 years ago...Fishing reefy areas or deep off rock ledges its still holding up quite well for other species though.
the people are actually being walked by the dogs because the people are not that bright and they'd end up lost.☺️ --- i know that frustrating feeling captain....somedays it may be better staying in bed, but im glad you went fishin instead! thank you for taking us!! 🎣🌏
It was a tough one,but at least I gave it a shot.If I lived closer to the sea I would know the perfect conditions and just nip down at the best time. But I am 50 miles from the closest "salty stuff" so its always a bit of a gamble. Sometimes just nice to get out by the sea.
Well done Graeme! I've had a few of those 'what the hell am I doing here?' beach sessions myself this winter. Never has a 4 inch pout been so gratefully received! Those hotdogs, raw and cut into one inch sections are the best chub and barbel bait I've ever used by the way.
Work has become something to fill the space between TA videos 😂😂 Tried to fish in those winds and it didn’t go well! Always worth a shout if you’re safe though. Me and the mrs always roll eyes at lack of awareness around the waves. Really wanna try fly fishing. For trout mostly.
You’re right graeme nothing worse than being on my local river, with the fly and people just let there dogs run through my swim even after seeing I’ve got line in the water it’s idiotic because they are the same people who complain you’ve hooked there dog🤣
Trouble unless it's private they have just as much right to be there as you, they could quite easily moan about you getting in the way of their dog walking. Everybody has the right to be an idiot, Dog walkers and angles alike. Nowt you can do about it other than put up with it.
@muted spark I never said it's right what happens, I said they have a right to be there just like you. Also, as i said, they may well consider you an inconvenience to their day. I suffer from it too on my local river, however the difference between you and i is tolerance. I've learnt it matters not how much you moan about it, you'll never change it. Things in life work both ways, you've heard the saying "for every action there's an equal or opposite reaction", well it's true. So the sensible thing to do is keep all your gear, hooks bait etc fastened up in your bag so their pooch can't get to it, say hello to the pooch and engage with the owner in a polite respectful manner and you'll be surprised just how reasonable and apologetic most can be. I have one fella now with a pair of Jacks who actually comes and talks to me while i'm Chubbing and he's a really nice guy with an interest in what's going on. Like i say if your an ar se with them they'll just be an ar se back. Stop being a moaning old git, get out there and enjoy you're day because one day the time will come when you can't.

I have 3 dogs and one of them will go up to people and sniff around bait boxes or even picnics so that dog goes on a lead in busy public places. It’s common curtsy.
The only reason I stop fishing in the local rivers is because of the dog walkers. I love dogs, I have dog, but man I just can't take it anymore. And that women "can I see it"... I will show you mine if you show me your.....😂😂😂. Totally awesome video.
Had the same problem on my local beach with dog walkers. Had dogs eating my bait and cocking their legs against my tackle box. Told their owners off and got nothing but abuse..

Hiya, another great vid, especially the Pike section. I 've got a question for you. I've just started fishing the QE2 lake in Ashington, & it is very big probably about 18 acres of water, but this time of the year, it is totally featureless, what would your tip be for finding where the Pike will be?
Deadbait drifted under a vaned float that will catch the wind. Bait about 2/3 of the depth .Two rods like that,cast at different distances,but twitched every once in a while. That would be my view if I was fishing,but obviously local info on best areas would make a huge difference.

Unleashed dog walkers, absolute dross of our society. The arguments that I've had with these people. The dogs have more wit than the owners. It's against most council bye laws where I live anyway but goes totally ignored.....until a kid gets mauled.

Had my first session in 3 weeks due to the weather, had two whiting and four thornbacks x2 2lbs, 5lbs, and a 7lbs to finish off.

Usually applies to Bass fishing on a shallow surf beach when there is a line of regular waves lining up to come in.
