Mikkola was good for us but was a much more physical presence for the Panthers. He saw how that entire team played a physical game and ultimately added a more physical presence to his game to conform. Rangers best players (Zibanejad,Kreider,Panarin)refuse to adapt to a more physical style so Mikkola game wouldn’t have changed if he stayed with the Rangers. Until the lack of physicality is addressed with it being emphasized for the entire team, nothing will change.

They will probably do that soon if he can't be moved
NY could make a deal with Detroit offline. They could make a deal where they release Trouba and Det picks him...and that massive cap hit up off waivers. NY could then trade mid level prospects with Det, and take Copp and Holl in return. The cap hits for both are at $9 mil, so Yzerman could retain on one to make the hits even, maybe even toss a mid round pick in.

Also after doing Goodrow dirty Drury is already getting a bad rep among players and agents so maybe not try and pull fast ones on the players you signed contracts with. Remember when Yashin signed a deal with Ottawa and two years later felt he was worth more....Ottawa didn't renegotiate (nor should they have) so I don't see why players should have to renegotiate either.

Whoever leaked the Trouba trade info to Larry Brooks needs to be fired and Brooks needs to be denied any access to the team from now on. His reports on first the Goodrow situation and now giving Trouba a heads up on the trade has undermined the Rangers ability to make the necessary moves to improve the team. There’s speculation that players and agents weren’t happy with how the Goodrow waiving went down and because of that didn’t want to deal with the Rangers.

I think that he needs to get players that can score in the Top Lines to Hit on The Bottom Lines. Also, get Laine, as A Sniper/Trouba Dump. Let me know what you think

I have to disagree. I think that Drury has to consider future obligations. What has happened so far is about business. As for Truba? He has a right to stand by his contract and the Rangers have an obligation to be understanding. I am a fan whole believes, with the current additions, could run it back. They have the talent, and the size, to do it. Worry about issues at the trade deadline as needed.
Trouba does not want to leave his wife. Accept that fact. He won't go to another team if traded. Move on. Ranger fandom comes off like a bunch of spoiled brats. Stop throwing temper tantrums.

I love that all the blame is on Trouba. Panarin is a huge underperformer. And let's not talk about Zibanagad. Where was he . Kreider had moments but no consistency. It wasn't all Trouba.

I'd prefer Drury to trade K'Andre Miller. He quietly was terrible in the playoffs, and not forgetting he left the team mid-season to "find himself". I prefer players who thrive under pressure, not ones who can't handle it. And physically big players who play a small non-physical game are so frustrating and such a waste of potential, every time Miller would skate round his own end stickchecking instead of taking the body and impose himself, was infuriating.
I agree 1000%. Miller is a remake of WILLIE HUBER. Like the 2nd Biggest guy on the team and he plays like a SISSY!!

Not only does Mille not have the natural instincts(he played forward previously) to play defense, but has a frequent tendency like Trouba to make bad decisions with the puck and be out of position a lot. He should be more physical and play with an edge but that isn't in his DNA. The Rangers should move on from him and Trouba but unfortunately it looks like both of them will be with the team at the start of training camp. As currently contructed the Rangers aren't Stanley Cup worthy. They won't win with this core. Only a trade like the Panthers did with Tkachuk will change the dynamic of this team. Absent of this it will be the definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results!

TH3e idea is NOT to win the Presidents Cup, it's to win the Stanley Cup.

2. Othmann, Rempe and Edstrom need to get a good hard look; more than just up and down
3. Renegotiate the contract with Trouba: extending him for less money per. Look he's not going to approve anything while his ol' lady is a resident MD.
That's not how NHL contracts work, it's not like the NFL. You can't renegotiate contracts, the contracts are guaranteed and the cap hit is what it is.
There are different ways to go every year with free agency and the draft. Signing older vets and bad contracts is one way.
I am not nervous about not signing a Tafoli or Bertuzzi, and Drury inhereted the shitty Trouba contract.
Everyone complains about Rangers success developing prospects. Top prospects are still an option for next year. Stay the course.

Larry Brooks thinks he is part of Rangers management for God sakes. As far as Drury, he is doing a good job. That got Riley Smith and they have to move at least a prospect up. Othmann will. be on team. I am not pissed, cant make trades fir the sake pf a trade. Jack Jones can join the D. Vesey will be back. Goodrow cant be paid 3M to play good just in playoffs. I would have Rempe and Endstrom on the fourth line. Finally, it may be some trade is made coming up. The High price free agents didnt fit and the others were not any better than what we have on team and in minors.
Most of the free agents' signings were overspends for overrated players. Lack of movement from Rangers is not that bad. it's still early.

They could have used some of the money from trouba to get a good dman or a forward this free agency....but NOTHING!!! so whoever is hoping for a stanley cup this year, its not happening if trouba is still on the team and using 8 milion in cap when we can use that money to get at least 2 good solid players!!!
