Heavy axemen in square/shieldwall + fian champions gives one a very efficient infantry only army which is great on field battles and very scary in sieges, I'll always remember in the past how fian champions got many more kills than infantry in sieges somehow
Idk depending on who you aks everyone gives different answers on whats the best, in the old warband it at least was pretty clear noeds had the best infantry vagirs the best bows rhodoks best crossbows etc. But idk in bannerlord the answer doesn't seem so cut clear to me
@@RoboPutinPresidentinCEI'd say with captain perks you can make any infantry stronger than what the ai brings. But overall I'd say probably either the legionary or the heavy axemen, legionary if they only had maces instead of the steel pamaremion or however it's spelt, then they'd perform better in cc since the maces are short and quick. The heavy axeman always brings the exact same set with them, only thing they lack is shoulder armour which for me I'd just add some mail shoulder guards but even then they have big shields to protect them. Aserai infantry are pretty well armoured too other than their chest armour having no leg defence but that's the least important area for infantry unless they were climbing a ladder I guess since archers could shoot them there but for the most part they're well armoured in all the other places, I have good success with them in line formation on hold fire until infantry gets closer and then let the javelins do some work on their shields, then square formation when they get close. Oathsworn and Wilding I usually see the most losses with since their shields are probably the smallest out of all the infantry other than I think the legionary. But I'd easily say the oathsworn with some falxmen and fian champions supporting them will always make a decent battanian army, even without cavalry they'll do just fine. My personal 3 would most likely be Axemen, Legionary and Veteran Infantry
The the non-infantry of sturgian only armies needs to be 1/3 spearmen 2/3 heavy axemen. this way they can handle cav. also like troops they shine with a good captain, speacily if they have the perks that boost units while in shieldwall from onehanded skill
@tagstergaming4556 ahhh I see, I will say it does take away from it a bit cause in the bannerlord difficulty you def lose a lot more units than you do in your vids :P but ig if it's on that difficulty for all units it's still a fair test
You make me restart my weekly bannerlord phase
Goood. Do it!😂
Also liked the fact you tested it multiple times really added value to the video

That sounds very powerful but I’m not surprised that the champions are getting more kills. They are Demon tier after all🤷♂️😂
I just used an army of swadian knights😂 They killed everything 😂🤷♂️
@@tagstergaming4556 they're probably why I don't bother with the heroic line breakers, they're already great shock troopers 😂

The Wildlings belong one or two tiers down tbh
You reckon? Why that?🤔
Sturgia sucks lol
